The compendium entry states a point is awarded at every even level. so at every odd level up, you are not awarded a point. Much as mineguy pointed out, bosses are the most surefire way to get points. Mithion also allows for suggestions on the github if you would like to request a change to this design, or if you are the more technical-oriented type, there is now an API for modders to make addons.
Hehe, seems like I always come crawling back here when I have a problem.
So the mainland of my island home is becoming choked with dryads. It seems like they don't despawn is the issue. I can change the config setting so they don't spawn as often, but if they don't despawn I'm still going to have a problem. I tried killing a few...and that DID NOT GO WELL FOR ME.
I hadn't read that entry in the compendium, you see.

Are there safe ways to dispose of excess dryads? I'd rather not just dump lava everywhere and let nature take it's course, but I suppose that's an option if nothing else works...
You can set the difficulty to peaceful while you clear them out if you have that ability. They will not despawn in peaceful mode since they are passive mobs. Another option that would be in line with the mod would be to create a mark/recall spell to teleport the dryads into a closed off lava pit. A bit more precise than just dumping lava everywhere
That's not gonna happen - at least not in the base mod. Maybe someone will make an addon that adds some other way to craft spells.
In the meantime, you can make the otherworldly aura and automate the spell crafting process if you find it tedious. That + a magic broom = almost fully automated as long as the materials are in one or more inventories close to the aura. You just need to throw in the blank rune to start.
I'll look into uploading the next version to curse as well when it's ready.
Personalty I have been hoping for an add on that further bridges the Thaumcraft / Am2 Divide. I think it would be great if a staff system that used the spells would be great and some brabels for am2 would be cool.
My friends and I have started a project like this. It includes an alternate crafting system, which will include needing just a few items in your inventory to craft the spell strait from the inscription table, but it's effects are somewhat distorted - they are less effective, they add more burnup, or miss fire.
We are planning on coding a few baubles - into new items. One will give faster mana regen, one will reduce burnup.
Ways to bride AM2 and TC4... that's where we are running into trouble. Therese a mod called Forbidden Magic; it bridges AM2 and Botania to Thaumcraft, and I don't really see what else can be done with it besides witchwood wands and vintemum caps that use mana to restore wand vis. That being said, we can try to come up with more stuff but I doubt its going to be a lot.
We are working on finding a way to add more spell components as well, and breaking the 'offensive' category in the occulus into distinct fire, frost and lightning categories. Probably a new animation/texture/name for the star-strike component to make it more relatable to lightning.

Then i guess you should try making it yourself, because it is sort of a pointless waste of time to do such a thing, and really derp too, the point of this mod is to get away from the simple things that most people do with magic mods, and have its own uniqueness...
I would, believe me. But as it is, there isn't even a quick way to get a specific spell in creative. And there is plenty of uniqueness to the spell-crafting system itself, all the little items you add really detracts from the uniqueness in my opinion.
If I ever do get into making mods myself, I'll definitely make that add-on
In fact, I even know what it would be: you'd spend experience on making spells, so the higher your AM level the better spells you can craft, and the more XP you have, the more powerful a spell you can make. That would be exactly what I'm looking for

So I'm having a small problem with the Magicians Workbench. It has so far remembered the 5 recipes that I have crafted on it (9 blue topaz=block and reverse, 9 chimerite=block and reverse and the recipe for blank runes) however using the recipe tags in the UI I can only remake the first recipe, the others will turn white when the necessary components are in the workbench inventory but I wont be able to craft them using the remembered recipe, I have to do it manually. has anyone else had this problem and if so, how did you fix it?
If you want ideas for connection between ars and thaum i really like mana vortexes from this mod, I think they look super cool and could be very useful. you could maybe make a thaumcraft foci that creates a mana vortex or maybe you could create a sustained one that prevents people doing magic in a large are by draining their mana ( if you want you could make it do something with that mana). A magic mirror that deposits in your rift storage may be useful. A device with a large mana supply that manalinks to you (similar to light mages) would be useful you could even have it apply mana shield if you want giving you good protection around it.
I've got a weird bug. On my server, when I use an Oculus, it opens just fine, but the GUI/interface is black. When I move my mouse over where the icons are at, I can see them, but they go black again once I move the mouse away. It doesn't happen when I use an Oculus in a singleplayer world, just one my server. It happens to all the players on the server. Anyone have any clue? Thanks.

edit: had an idea for the new dev but still don't know how to deal with github so I will post it here. Have a way to make some kind of wire frame that surround cap stones for the obelisk, celestial prism and the other one. A focus can be placed within all visible sides of the wire frame. this will allow faster charge and/or greater storage of essence.

really easy to test though, just set up (in creative) two batteries, one being powered by a single obelisk, the other by two
put a single piece of Vinteum dust into each obelisk, let them burn all the way, then check each battery.

Do buckets of liquid etherium in an obelisk generate more? Because it would make sense for them too. I found an area full of ponds of it so I just used a buildcraft pump and filled up a massive tank.

Yes, i can confirm the buckets of LE do produce more power than a single Dust. a fully upgraded obelisk (chalk circle and pillars) produces more energy than it can itself hold off of a single bucket

Well then I have more LE then I will ever need. About 512 buckets worth (a full resonant tank from thermal expansion).

On my server, there isn't any extra decoration, besides the covering cloth. Not sure if that is related to this other problem I'm having.

On my server, there isn't any extra decoration, besides the covering cloth. Not sure if that is related to this other problem I'm having.

The decorations come with upgrading the table~ Upgrades unlock the 3 other shape groups, those boxes in the table's GUI.
The first upgrade is called Inscription Table Tier 1 Upgrade and the other two follow suit.
Is there a wiki or website or even youtube spotlight with up to date information on this mod? The reason I'm asking is because I need help with the gateway to the Moo Moo Farm.
I built the gateway correctly, I powered it (it has 25000 Light Etherium), I created the Evil Looking Book and I right clicked the Keystone Receptacle with the Evil Looking Book in my hand but nothing happened. What am I doing wrong?

No problem~ Wish I could help with the other thing but I haven't a clue. I've heard about issues with Optifine but I don't see that on your list.
