I don't have any information on how to get it, despite repeated references to the rituals already in the book. I suspect I could craft one of every single block or item in the entire compendium (despite having absolutely no purpose for crafting half of them yet) before I *might* unlock it.

Try crafting wizard chalk or a warding candle. If you already have, try activating the blocks they place in the world - that should unlock the compendium entry pages for you.

Huh, you need to make it like in the compendium, then wait some seconds. The chalk does the nexus center, which is the main part, but there are also the 4 pillars of 2 nether quartz blocks each, and some type of block at the top ( either glass, gold, etc ), surrounding the nexus' corners.

I've got the nexus set up like you said, however, when I place the chalk this is all I get.
Craft an obelisk. The nexus system has changed quite a bit. I suggest reading up on it and watching videos (I believe Mithion has several on his YouTube channel that are still relevant).
Alright thanks. One final question: How do I connect obelisks up to my other blocks? Every time I try to use my wrench to connect the blocks up it either does nothing or says "this source node doesn't provide any power that the destination can use"
Obelisks only output neutral essence (dark blue) - wearing the magitech goggles or whacking the machine with a magitech staff can show you what essence types a specific machine needs. Not all of them can function on neutral.
The tile.arsmagica2.wizardChalk.name is just a localization error - it's still creating the correct "block".

There are three types of skill points, Blue, Green and Red. Just give them Infinity Orbs of the appropriate color. Blue for low-tier spell components, Green for mid-tier, and Red for high-tier.

I've searched this thread and googled the heck out of it: is there a working command for giving a player on my server skill points? I have tried /giveskillpoints but it is not recognized.
You can find the corrispective orbs (blue, green, red) in the creative tab. Simply right-click with one in hand to get the skill point.

the command is /giveskillpoints <player> <num_red_points> <num_green_points> <num_blue_points>
For example, to give a player named "Minecrafter121" 3 blue points, you would enter:

Mithion is doing one final update for Ars Magica 2 and then dropping the mod.
If I open up a keystone receptacle and shift click something in my inventory, it doubles it when it gets placed into the gateway. Shift clicking while its in there also doubles it, allowing you to quickly duplicate anything you want.

Mithion knows about this bug; I reported it to him firsthand. I reckon it'll be fixed in the final update. In 1.6.4, it worked with anything with only a keystone as an inventory, such as keystone doors.
