I get a crash when entering the nether with 4.0.2a. This used to work before. Now when I load the world, the game always crashes. I think I'm in the nether when the world loads and that causes the crash.

would it be possible to make it so when you use the axe of the stream on a silverwood tree which has a node log the axe of the stream cuts down the log, but leaves the nodes? this way it's best to use the axe of the stream for silverwood trees and you can chop a silverwood down without worrying that you might kill a node
I have a suggestion for your magical biomes, Azanor. Your latest test looks interesting, but not particularly magical. Instead of just adding a color overlay, how about adding a couple new kinds of trees? One, a small tree with metallic silver wood and golden leaves, called a Goldleaf tree. The wood makes a silvery plank. Aspects are normal wood aspects. The leaves, when sheared, have one point of lucrum. They generate saplings when the leaves decay at about 1 1/4 saplings per tree.
Second tree would have pale golden wood and white leaves, called a goldenwood tree. It would grow as a taller, thin tree, like a poplar. The goldenwood logs would have a point of magic aspect as well as the normal wood aspect. It could be made into a stick of goldenwood that could be used as a wand core instead of a regular stick. It would still only hold 25 vis per aspect, but would slowly (verrrry slowly) recharge itself. The leaves sheared would not have any special aspects. Leaf decay would also yeild about 1 1/4 saplings per tree.
This would have the visual effect of making your magical biomes really look magical, as whites, silvers and golds tend to add a mystical aura to a scene, without needing some sort of color overlay that just recolors the grass and leaves. It would be readily visible that you are in a magical biome since these trees would not generate elsewhere.
For both trees, planks could be crafted as normal wood into things.
Not sure if this is just bad luck on my part, but it seems that if you hover your thaumeter over a blaze spawner (or any spawner) it seems to crash you out upon trying to render it's aspects.
BUG: Right clicking with a wand on the side of an alembic changes its facing but it will never actually dispense essentia on a facing other than the one it was initially placed with.

(6:50:00 AM) Simon-v: How do you live in a world where Everything's Trying To Kill You?
(6:50:23 AM) xander_morhaime: Briefly.
I have randomly went back to my single player world to find my research progress (in terms of discoveries found) reset. Nothing else was effected, but now it would seem I have to research everything once more. I am unsure how this occured as I have no error/crash log.
I am currently using v4.0.1b of Thaumcraft. If it's of any help, I also have Thaumic Tinkerer, TConstruct, and NEI mods installed. Running forge version 9.11.1.920.
This wasn't the first time re-logging into my world either. Hopefully its only a one-time thing. Eitherway, I've enjoyed the mod so far and enjoy the changes you've made.
either im extremely unlucky, or there is also some derpyness with aura nodes in jars going on. they are supposed to have like a 25% chance to lose quality, by trapping them.
so far, ive collected a few nodes and all of them went from normal to normal, pale : /
edit.: yup, thats node no 4. a bright node, turned normal
edit2.: out of 6 nodes, i managed to get one, that kept its quality.
So heres how i see things:
All items and blocks in minecraft are made out of aspects, from Terra to Messis there are alot of different kinds... When it is in a liquid form it is essentia, but there is another form of these aspects called Vis.
Nobody quite knows why this form is the way it is, with no mass and no way of detecting it, it is all around us and we dont even know... Living things has this vis throughout them and as far as we know that is what makes life. Aura Nodes happen on the rare occasion that some of the same vis types collide and make a "magnet" of sorts for that same type of Vis, that is why after a while a node can refill, it is simpley attracting more vis. Now vis can be turned into essentia but as of now we know no way to reverse such an effect. There is also a theory that different kinds of essentia can be combined to create new types, making rare essentia more common. This would obviously take a large amount of energy and power.
So, I don't know if this has been reported yet, but if you try to bottle a node that is in a siverwood tree block(the ones that grow on them), it crashes your game and deletes the world file(or it did to me, really wierd).
This is the crash report:

I am not having the luck of getting all kinds of shards, seems no possibly for me :/
The rarity of shards is dependent on your biome. Try looking in swamps for entropy, deserts for fire etc. Try to think what biome would correspond with your missing shard.
I just have a question for anyone who feels helpful. How do you extract the essence from warded jars of essence? And is there a way to store it in your wand?
You can draw essentia from warded jars in increments of 8 using phials. And no, your wand cannot store any; the wand stores vis as formless energy, while the jars store it as a condensed liquid.

You want a farm, you grab a hoe. You want a boat, you grab some wood. You want a fireplace, you grab A FLAMING HELL-BOULDER BECAUSE THAT'S HOW MINECRAFTERS ROLL!!!
I can't seem to empty my crucible, and it's spilling out flux goo like nobody's business. The thauminomicon isn't helping.
What the heck did you put in it?! O.O
Also, try breaking it and putting it back down, that might fix your problem. Just be sure to be right next to it when you do if you're using lava as a source of heat.
Also, in regards to the magical forest, i'ma ALWAYS in favor of new plant stuff in Thaumcraft :3
The Golem Upgrade of Entropy says it makes them less picky on items. The example is if its told to get copper bar it will accept all types of copper. Very handy when running several mods all that add there own copper ore.
but... could this be expanded to allow all of a "type" of item? example; I just tried to see if my golem would gather all types of magic shards with the Entropy upgrade. sadly it only gathered one 1 type I had selected.
Other uses would be to have a transport golem take only ores from a chest to the smelter or only raw meats. Or a golem that accepts all wisp essences to put in the same chest.
Man I love golems, this whole modular thing is great.

"I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong."
That looks quite good. I hope you end up going with that. I like like how there are only tall trees in there.
