Tonight is not my night to get anything to work properly. Tubes, golems, you name it. This leads me to my post. A request!
I've always wanted golems to guard the gates of my castle (or hole in the ground, as the case may be), but they tend to leave their posts. We should either have a different core for existing golems, or something golem-like (like the chests are) to have a guard that actually stays where they're supposed to and uses ranged attacks (like the dart accessory -- if a new core then the guard core and dart accessory could be part of the infusion) to engage hostiles.
I'd thought the paving stones of warding would do this, but those seem to either block visibility as well, or create these weird air "blocks" golems can use to get out. I'd also tried fencing them in but the fences are taller than the golems, so visibility is still blocked.
Yeah -- I haven't tried guard golems in my current game, largely because they were so useless in the last version. The dart launcher is useless, because the golem AI doesn't try to use it, but just insists on trying to close to combat. (Caveat: I haven't seen them face off against a creeper. If they don't use darts against those, what's the point?) Even aside from that, their targeting range is seriously excessive, and they go running after any target, including wandering through portals or getting stuck on the wrong side of gates.

I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.
How can I enable crimson rites tab in my Thaumonomicon after studying the Crimson Rites book? Is this even possible and why is it disabled? I looked through the config and read many forums and still could not find how I can do this. Please, help. Thank you!

You might be able to hold them in by setting fences into the ground in a ring around the golem, and then giving it a 1-block-high roof. That should give it an unobstructed field of fire but only a half-block gap if it tries to move. I haven't tried that for golems, but I've used the same design for sniper towers and it worked. Let me know how it turns out.

You want a farm, you grab a hoe. You want a boat, you grab some wood. You want a fireplace, you grab A FLAMING HELL-BOULDER BECAUSE THAT'S HOW MINECRAFTERS ROLL!!!

yup. i called it.
we need that model for a repeating crossbow turned into a golem ballista. place the ballista down, place the golem on it, and mark a nearby chest full of arrows for them to grab their ammunition from. those would make pretty awesome defense posts.
the golem speed could increase the aiming and fire rate, and their strength the damage each shot deals and the amount of arrows they can carry before they have to go and grab a new stack. water upgrades would improve vision range as usual. order upgrades allows to specify which mobs (even players) are supposed to be attacked on sight.
now imagine you also supply them with elemental arrows.
stationary defense posts right there. kindof replaces the thaumcraft 2 seals, you could set up to spew flames or similar damage spells at nearby enemy mobs.
It sure is more difficult to get warped in the newer versions. I've researched everything, made a few flesh golems and a bucket of liquid death and still not had anything worse than the paranoid messages. Am I going to have to just mass produce flesh golems to see any further results?
Crimson hunt is still fruitless. Five obelisks and counting completely barren.
I was in cae 3 hours and I found 3 stacks of fire shards, 1 stacks earth shards, 1,5 stacks of air shards, 2 stacks white and black shards AND ONLY 2 water shards, TWO WATER SHARDS. This is normal? A fter I search water shards near the water and NOTHING. It's crazy.

it's more like water biome not near water itself... like ocean river and such... dunno about beach

I've always just used unlabelded jar -> labeled jar because labeled jars have a higher suction. Buffers and bellows also work as well but you'd need 2 bellows if dealing with standard jars.
You'd think that, but testing in creative, doing 2 jars (one full, one empty) with a normal tube and a directional tube I still get no movement (with the directional in either direction).
I just used the resonator, but I don't really understand it. Every section has suction. Some untyped, some of the type in the full jar.
Hmm, then you can use a buffer, and make one side have 0 suction.
Anyone else having an issue with some items not stacking, like this?

I randomly have that issue too somethimes

He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you.

Tried it out myself in my creative world. It worked pretty well, but since the golem darts are range-limited and have knockback, it's possible they could end up with a half-killed skeleton standing just outside their range and shooting them to death. It's also possible for creepers to take a stray shot and blow up the apparatus, and the golem will let them approach.

On my server (using cauldron)
Dirt and gravel blocks randomly spawns in sky.
is that normal?
That problem would be solved if you Awaken your Ichorium Tools!
Let me ask you, is it normal to see dirt and gravel to spawn in sky in real life? I don't think!
Golem Ballista, golem Ballista, Gollem Blistta? GOLEM BALLISTA!!
I'm sorry, but that idea is epic...
This is not a signature, it's a post office, that currently has 56 letters...
Yeah, that's usually what I do too.

Does anyone know how to make a central node and make other nodes around it attach to the central node?
