True, but a focus by its definition drains vis from a wand when it is in use, and so having a focus that is used to recharge vis just seems highly unlikely.

well that's one way to see that... I see foci more as things that are used to channel energy... like a magnifying glass you can theoretically use it in both directions but that's just my opinion.
So, is there an issue with golems at the moment? I can't seem to get my alchemy golem to work.
strange the setup itself doesn't seem wrong... only thing I can suggest is... eliminate the 3rd row of jars or provide the golem a way to reach them, might be freezing because of that... and mark the jar at floor level instead of the one on the second row. if it's not working try to break and replace all the jars...

hes a tiny dude. hes not gonna reach the top row of jars. try to put the two top rows one block back, so he can use the row on the ground as a staircase and jump on top of the jars to reach the top row.

doing that you'll need to mark both middle and the lowest row to make them all suitable target jars... just saying in case he didn't know
I just had a crazy idea... dunno why none of the addon author never came up with something like that... it's simple and useful... I was wandering around node-hunting in magic forest where you find most of the compounded aspect nodes (not the pure nodes inside the silverwood them usually suck because have really little quantity)
Make it possible to recharge wands with compounds "directly". My idea is a wand focus that does nothing but, when equipped, makes it possible to recharge your wand with compound aspects directly.
You're trying to overturn a basic point of game balance. There is, however, a simple way to get use out of compound nodes on the road: Make a spare recharge pedestal and compound focus, and stash them in your travelling trunk....

I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.

Agreeing and summing-up prior posts:
He can't reach the top level of jars. Put the top row in on the ground in front of the other two. And put the marks on the bottom row.
Yeah. I don't think a golem will start an unlabeled void jar. Most of your jars should be normal warded jars anyway, save void jars for the specific aspects that you hardly use and get in huge quantities, such as Arbor, Aer, Aqua, and Terra. For others, let the golem start new jars as needed; when you have nearly enough, label the jars and add a labeled void jar.

An easy fix to mana beans flattening the curve of acquiring certain aspects would to make mana beans of certain aspects take longer or more effort to grow than others. Maybe after a certain number of compounds they require particular advanced growth mechanisms to ensure that they grow at all, period. More complex yet otherwise more common / more-easily-acquired aspects would take less time than less complex yet otherwise less common / more-difficult-to-obtain aspects would take longer. Basically you could balance it as you see fit to match your understanding of aspect availability / tier.
By doing so, you essentially shoot two birds with one stone:
1) The issue of some aspects becoming too easily acquired is balanced out by taking longer / more effort to make them acquirable via beans at all / at a not completely horrible pace
2) Adds new progression to what was once a simple measure of time and effort
AZANOR ! The crafting sceptre made out of the primal rod can't go in an arcane table. It can tho recharge enough to bottle some wands with the help of the void robe armour, tho it is almost useless (we can't use the wand caps and we can't use it to craft things).
The Primal Rod is a staff core, not a wand core. And there is no Primal wand core.
Mana beans would be part of a new and botania like system, in which you could have a new tab dedicated to some new powers like growing flowers into fairies which could drop some ethereal essences to breading taint into pure grass and converting back tainted animals to regular animals (Those creepers man. They don't make any noise and they spread taint so easily).
I've never used mana bean, nor have I used ethereal essences except for auram. I'm now using a centrifuge to melt down some glass into Ordo for example, and to get all primal aspects from a workbench. Essentia buffers and centrifuges FTW (Btw, even tho I really appreciate the centrifuges and the buffers, I think they should come up with an extra cost. Energized node may have more power than what is said...)
Look what I found using the wand of the primal and the primal focus :
I've shot a few endermen with the primal wand cap and it created some taint.

the primal foci is known to have the chance to make taint... and congrats for finding a bug... afaik scepters shouldn't be able to be crafted from staves rods... which it's a silly thing to do since staves can't be used for crafting and scepters can't house foci it's a lose - lose

i think i suggested this already long ago.
it would be a better idea to turn this into specific wand caps, that arent quite as efficient as thaumium, but able to break down compound aspects 1:1 into primals.
youd sacrifice a a small amount of vis discount for some utility.

like someone already pointed out. you would just make bigger farms if the growth was slowed down.
be it more lamps of growth, or just making the bean farms themselves larger.
currently, there is no aspect, except tempestas, that cant be aquired en masse somehow by building a farm. thats why i personally think, removing manabean farms or changing them is absolutely unecessary.
you want to remove them because of lucrum? fine, ill just build a zombie grinder or vanilla zombie pigman farm.auram? ill get it from whisp spawners. sano? ill mass produce meat treats.
removing manabeans for essentia production is pretty much trading one farm for another. either version takes an ivestment of time and resources to build up.
if you still think they need balancing because of certain aspects, just come up with a way, to allow manabean farming as it is and push them further into lategame. thats why i said the better way to handle it would be the addition of a processing machince, that either requires a top tier wand, or running on vis.
the next thing is, that aquiring those aspect via bean farms might only be too easy in the early game. i mean how much auram do you actually need to craft wand caps and wands?
and the only major use auram and sano later on is to produce items to diminish warp, which should be available in any amount at some point. (and in the end is still limited by shards as a resource).

The Primal Staff Core can be capped and made into a scepter. As you noted, it can't be used for crafting and it can't take a focus, so its utility is very limited. Azanor knows about this. He's elected not to fix it because it's only really useful as a giant battery (and for construction of special Thaumcraft machines like the Thaumatorium and bottling nodes, etc).

You need to connect him to the alembic, not to the furnace.

wrong... if placed on alembic will manage only the alembic on whitch he was placed, placing on the furnace will make him handle the whole structure
That worked, thank you!

Didn't Azanor already say he's probably not going to mess with it too much after all?
Anyway, the problem with that idea is that the aspects that the mod is balanced around being 'rare' (Auram and such), are mostly only tier 3 or 4.

You can only one faceplate at the same time right? And a ffaceplate and googles of reveling?
you can put one faceplate of your choice and a pair of goggles on the helmet.
Really, cause I connect mine to the furnace all the time and they work perfectly.
Thanks! Any suggestions?
