Anyway, whenever my host's admin interface sorts itself out, I'm REALLY looking forward to the update about scanning nodes. Worried about the ongoing crash re: nether portals, but overall things are looking good.
Just updated, had thaumometer in my hand, walked up to my nether portal to go to the nether to look for a node in the nether and I crashed upon looking at the portal with the thaumometer. I now crash with this error everytime I load the world.

+1. Pretty game breaking bug right now. I put a lot of time into my world and am holding onto the save and hoping for a fix seeing as I failed to back up my world.
Look at a combination of a Chop golem, a Use golem (with a Hoe of Growth), another Use golem (to plant the tree), and finally a Gather golem (to collect all the drops). You will absolutely have enough wood for anything you need.
hmmm.... that would be viable. the Hoe of growth i think would be only really needed at first while the Boiler built up Steam. but after that i could remove the Hoe of Growth Golem and still have a steady stream of Wood.

And just wondering... a suggestion, could there be some kind of.... I dunno, "wipe/cloth" that can be used to clean up flux goo and gas after using the cauldron? Kinda tired of using blocks to get rid of it (plus some end up falling in the cauldron regardless) and I prefer to maintain a clean Thaumatorium.
For anyone who is getting the error with the null pointer exception in doscan (the crash when looking at a spawner, or a brewing stand, or a nether portal, etc) and cannot log back in: it seems that the reason it crashes when you log back in is because you still are looking at the same thing, and still have the thaumometer in your hand.
If you don't want to or can't wait for a bug fix update, you can get logged in again by grabbing an NBT editor, opening the player data for your player, and changing the SelectedItemSlot tag so that you don't have the thaumometer in your hand anymore. Just make sure not to look at whatever it was that caused it again.

For the person wondering about automated tree farms, they're entirely possible to make and quite a fun use of golems. The range on a lumberjack golem is 4 blocks, 5 if you have a water upgrade, so keep that in mind. Even with that restriction in place though I've got several stacks of logs out of this farm.
Might want to rename the "Use" Core to "Plant" Core because I cant get it to do anything but plant things.
It wont use my wands, wont sheer sheep, wont milk cows, wont throw eggs or snowballs. And most upsettingly; dont feed animals for breeding.
Iv tried both placing the mark on the ground then forcing cow/sheep onto the block and placing a dirt block attaching it to that, removing the dirt block and changing the golem to "use on empty square". still nothing.
The golem will walk to the spot but just stand there holding the sheers, bucket or what ever item im trying to get them to use.
They will place blocks, but seeing as they try to stand on the marked location they often get stuck trying to place a block while they are in the way. So using them to build a new wall seems out of the question, but if you set them to place on empty squares they can be used to rebuild destroyed walls quite well.
Any one else had better luck?

Minecraft without Thaumcraft is like a pizza without cheese, tasteless !!!
If you don't want to or can't wait for a bug fix update, you can get logged in again by grabbing an NBT editor, opening the player data for your player, and changing the SelectedItemSlot tag so that you don't have the thaumometer in your hand anymore. Just make sure not to look at whatever it was that caused it again.
Someone answered it. I was talking about essentia, not vis, not aspects. I mentioned that in my original post.
He wanted the liquid form as well, seeing as it's necessary for some infusion crafting.

It wont use my wands, wont sheer sheep, wont milk cows, wont throw eggs or snowballs. And most upsettingly; dont feed animals for breeding.
Iv tried both placing the mark on the ground then forcing cow/sheep onto the block and placing a dirt block attaching it to that, removing the dirt block and changing the golem to "use on empty square". still nothing.
The golem will walk to the spot but just stand there holding the sheers, bucket or what ever item im trying to get them to use.
They will place blocks, but seeing as they try to stand on the marked location they often get stuck trying to place a block while they are in the way. So using them to build a new wall seems out of the question, but if you set them to place on empty squares they can be used to rebuild destroyed walls quite well.
Any one else had better luck?
