I'm a bit late to the party on the issue of mob heads, but I checked the wiki and apparently...
Zombies, Creepers and Skeletons can drop their heads, but only when killed by the explosion of a Charged Creeper.
So, like Wither Skeleton Skulls, they're way too rare to boil for Essentia.
Shock focus can actually create charged creepers. So there will be a way to reliably get those when TC updates, provided you can also survivably set the things off and deal with the giant craters.
I was wondering, can someone show me a basic thaumcraft 4.2 set up? Using all the thaumcraft stuff for alchemy? I'm not to good at trying to figure out the set up and I get aggravated by all of it.
See attachments. The centrifuge has a jar attached to it with a golem attached to that. I usually leave the crystallizer's and centrifuge's empties still attached, so that I can easily swap them for full or overflow jars without constantly putting jars into and out of the chest.
Strange thing happening with my infusion altar 4.2.1.4 - unwanted free essentia conversion, involving crystallizers
My infusion altar is surrounded by labeled jars with all of the essentia I need. Also nearby is an essentia reservoir hooked up to a buffer, hooked up to a bellows, and two essentia crystallizers.
Whenever I attempt an infusion, the infusion altar draws the needed essentia through the crystallizers, draining the reservoir of whatever essentia is in it. The dangerous bit.. it doesn't matter what essentia is in the reservoir. If it's full of Terra, the infusion altar will draw aer, ignis, aqua, ordo, perditio, terro, spiritus, anything from the crystallizers, only draining Terra from the reservoir.
Known major bug, which Azanor will probably fix in the next release.

You want a farm, you grab a hoe. You want a boat, you grab some wood. You want a fireplace, you grab A FLAMING HELL-BOULDER BECAUSE THAT'S HOW MINECRAFTERS ROLL!!!
I was wondering, can someone show me a basic thaumcraft 4.2 set up? Using all the thaumcraft stuff for alchemy? I'm not to good at trying to figure out the set up and I get aggravated by all of it.
Here's my setup, which is cramped (and not a great image) but uses pipes rather than golems. The furnace stack is in the back, with a chest and hopper to feed stuff into the furnace. Each alembic has pipes, and the bottom two have room for an extra jar. I can also use the wand to connect up pipes to combine two of the bottom alembics, or to feed their contents to thaumatorium or centrifuge. I supply fuel and jars manually.
One problem with not using golems is that I do need to label the alembics for most jobs. If I have phials, I do that before the run, if it's a new aspect, I'll label the bottom alembics for all the other aspects, and leave the jar off for unlabeled alembics. Then I can wait until it picks an alembic and shows up there, to label the alembic and place a jar.
(It it just me, or is the forum editor getting even more broken? Working on it...)
The centrifuge likewise has room for overflow jars on the output (I don't have void jars yet), and after yet another Arbor->Herba run, I dug beneath so that I can place 3 input jars at a time instead of just 1. I can add a fourth by placing a pipe, but then I need to remove it to pick up empties.
The thaumatorium has pipes for up to five input essentias (balanced shards), and that's a hungry chest in front of it.
My crucible setup is old-style, because I hadn't caught up to the flux nerfs: Across the river, centered in a 9x9x4 pit. I hardly use it now that I have the thaumatorium.
My crystallizer setup, which is off in a basement. Very basic: Furnace, one alembic and a buffer leading to the crystallizer, with a few extra pipes so I can stick jars in there if I want. I load up the chest with mob and fishing loot, and feed the furnace a lump of coal any time I come down and find the crystallizer stopped.
I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.
If I understand right, TC 4.2.1.4 has Tainted Land and Magical Forest back to being rare like they were in earlier versions, right? It sounds like you're just having bad luck with them getting lost among all the extra biomes that BoP adds.
Me and my friend have been having trouble with the ores of Thaumcraft dropping (Just amber and cinnabar) :/
We first noticed this when i was playing on my friend's forge server with Thaumcraft installed, and he mined cinnabar and nothing dropped, but when i mined it it dropped fine.. and when i placed the ore down again THEN he mined it it did drop for him..
It seems who-ever is hosting the world cannot mine these ores for some reason due to this major bug
I tested this out in survival too and i can't mine any cinnabar nor amber D: Fix this soon plz? I just tested this with my other mods removed and this resolved the problem, a compatibility issue?
I also have a few .litemod files there but disregard those as liteloader has compatability issues with the current forge version so i'm just running normal forge.. So you can find the bug easier, here is the collection of mods i mentioned above It's in a zip file here --> https://www.dropbox.com/s/dbns5odwoqi45rb/mods.zip?dl=0
That souds like a really good description of death...
Yeah, I like that description. Only thing I'd add is massive, ever-shifting black tendrils in the background as well as some sort of horrifying vortex in the sky.
Maybe have eyes everywhere watching you... in the trees, in the sky, and even floating around you
Can I get any help on this game-stopping problem?
that's only for minecraft 1.8, before that, mob heads besides wither skulls were impossible to get in survival without mods

What is he typing? and how do you put him in the chair?
Kinda like Pride from FMAB, or like this:
your would always be seeing these always-changing features wherever you go, but they'd always be just out of reach.
