Can someone tell me why these runes won't connect?
This is research for the Hungry Chest and the Vacuos aspect runes refuse to connect. Trying the Fames aspect lights up runes as well but they won't connect either.
It is not clear how runes are supposed to connect and that is why people are blowing through research points and complaining. It's great and all if some people here find it easy, but things just don't seem to make any sense sometimes and people are going to get frustrated. the same thing happened for the arcane levitator research. The runes, by all logic of how other runes connected, should connect, but don't.
I'm not sure if the notes are just bad, but I thought that was supposed to be a rare chance, not all the time.
Explain the "rules" for runes somehow in the notes or in the book.
I'm going to assume that the lower right node is the starting rune. If that's the case, you need to move the Vacuous rune over below the upper node and connect it down. You can't split a node in two directions, you have to make one continuous line bridging all nodes.
Nother taint question. I dont cheat as a rule. But I also kinda dont wanna restart my world and Im scared of the taint biome nearby. Its pretty but Im scared Ill wake up and find out Im next to some sort of thing from an Amnesia game. So silverwood cures taint? So if I plant silverwood trees all over the biome it'll fix the biome? And is there a way to contain it? I know I can config it to stop spreading. If I do go that route, will it just be in a state of eternal standstill? Since I just found the biome, the taint is only really spread in two patches around trees alongw ith like the spiderweb taint thing around the entire biome. I was wondering if I could let the taint spread a little more then stop it and keep it as a nice background.
Im unsure how taint actually spreads though. I have two oak trees that are surrounded by about... 8 blocks in either direction with purple grass and it just looks awesome. Sorta like Omnious Forest Biome from BoP, only... more Omnious. But Im unsure how taint actually spreads. Is it that the two areas will grow like a water spill? Or will it just randomly pop up more spots through the biome until they all connect?
Aka is it creep spread vs random?

Ah, alright. You have another Vacuous rune to the left of the Fames rune, yeah? Move it so it's below the upper node.
There can only be one empty space between nodes/runes or they won't connect. The bridge from the upper to the lower is too far for just one rune to bridge the connection, so you need to have two in that line.
You might need to use an unused rune to block a connection, as well. Runes will favor connecting to other runes over nodes, so sometimes you have to block them so they'll connect where you want them to.
Its odd Stone Golems dont have a "magic" variation like clay to flesh or wood to tallow. Nether Brick Golems seem like they would fit the bill.
Is it wierd I like the dark and blue Magic forest over the bright and green magic forest? Its just so... happy looking now. I almost expect to see unicorns and rainbows... I guess it fits better seeing as the tainted biomes are meant to be the "evil" place and the magic is the opposite of that.

Not at all. I don't care for the new look at all, the blue was much more appropriate, as it really felt magical and surreal. The bright green just looks like a regular forest to me, I don't see anything about it that strikes me as "magical".
Is the lost knowledge broken or disabled? I finally scraped together 9 fragments then gained a research paper. upon picking an aspect to research the thing broke down to 8 scraps.

Yup, just enchant the foci with potential. Anyways, can anyone tell me what dictates the research you get from examining players. It would be kinda cool if Azanor adds it in as a config so I can say what people get from researching me

I can only guess that you had another mod that changed the value on some things. 3 Hunger is the vanilla value for Cooked Chicken, and has been since it was introduced to the game.

I didn't THINK so (there didn't seem to be any reason why you would), but I figured it didn't hurt to ask just to be sure, and I couldn't think of anything else that changed about the right time.
......Or wait. The last update to Random Things Mod might possibly be about the right time, and that does do a VERY random and eclectic collection of things. I shall inquire. If in addition to everything else it's altering game mechanics without notice, I may have to remove it.
Can anyone tell me how we are to know what objects contain what aspects? Trying to make a straw golem, and have no idea what contains Spiritus or Motus.
Just so you know my friends server crashes when I research something, good thing I did most of it before the update. And I mean scan research with the thaumeter.

Now it does it worse than stone pickaxe.
I know in TC3 you would enchant it to make it mine faster. I assume the same is true in TC4
