Hey guys, perhaps someone can help me with my issue...
I've been running a server for a while now, all of my mods work great together. (I know, I have a lot) However, recently I have been getting this error the moment anyone makes their way into/near a taint biome and once someone does then the server crashes with this every time that they log in.
Seems to be an issue with a creeper colliding with the taint fiber block in this one, in another I have its the taintacle colliding with the taint fiber block which leads me to believe the taint fiber is the culprit.
The second golem for both pipes and especially centrifuges, should be a straw golem to clear odd points. If you do a lot of mixed loads, you may want a third, heavier-load, golem on the furnace -- say, capacities of 1, 4, and either 8 or 16 -- but mixed loads will slow things down regardless.
When collecting full jars for other purposes (harness, thaumatorium, maybe I.F. or lamps) you want to replace each full jar you take with a matching labeled empty jar.
The next limit you can run into with a huge setup, is golem range -- the alchemy golems seem to have a 16-block range, but for a big setup that can still require a second floor of jars, with stairs for the golems.
I have air-upgraded stone and wood golems. I might have used a straw golem, but I can never keep those alive, even outside rooms that occasionally get altar lightning and flux taint.
I always replace full jars with the overflow jar they spilled into, and replace that with an unlabeled empty jar.
My sea base's infusion room is 13x17 with the furnace placed off-center on one of the long sides, and there were a couple of jars he couldn't reach. A water upgrade cured that.
Pretty cool builds, you've got a good eye for looks. My big comment, on something in the middle: Neither Furnace actually seems to produce flux anymore, despite the Thaumonomicon text.. And if they did, a bare or captured pure node doesn't protect against taint anymore, it has to be still in the silverwood block. The sign over the crucible is a useful idea, if a bit belated for me. Also: How do you craft obsidian tile?
I haven't seen the furnace produce flux either (the one in the sea base doesn't even have a chimney), but it's still worth it because I can throw garbage and raw potatoes and wood and stuff into the chimney, without going up and down the stairs.
Bare pure nodes do still protect against taint, although an ethereal bloom would probably be better. What they don't do is convert normal biomes to magical forest.
Obsidian tiles are made with four obsidian in a square. I think totems might be craftable too, but if they are I haven't found the recipe.

OK, that works too (with the jars). Straw golems are more important for the centrifuges, where a stray point can foil the carry-4 golems completely. How are your straw golems dying off? I don't know that I've ever had any but a guard golem killed (though I have abysmal luck with those). Lost yes, but not killed. As far as flux lightning, this is what essentia mirrors are for.

Hmm. Maybe a 9- or 12- block natural range then? I've lost track of what-all I've got on my stillroom golems, but they do seem able to reach everything. Hmm, you're the second person who's said that about pure nodes... seems their nerf wasn't as bad as I thought.
(Side note: I tried making a "golem pack" with everything needed for making golems. Turns out you can fill a chest (or TT+O) with just all the kinds of cores, upgrades and accessories! Never mind bodies...)

I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.
Just checking back in, I'm desperately trying to fix my issue with taint fiber blocks. Seems there is a collision occuring with entities... I turned off glowing nodules on taint fibers... turned off just about anything taint related that I could think of and still no go. Help? Posted a pastebin a few posts above.

The straw golems always wind up taking a stray Shock bolt or getting burned by a crucible or touching a thornbush or something. I swear it's a curse. I find wood usually works anyway.
I don't like essentia mirrors. Seems like unnecessary trouble, unless maybe I'm dealing with a remote operation, in which case I'll usually just give it an independent setup.
I think alchemy golems do have the usual 16-block range, but with them it's circular instead of square. Maybe. I didn't experiment much before just slapping on the water upgrade.
I don't recall pure nodes ever being nerfed. I thought Azanor just added normal biome conversion to log nodes only.
Yeah, that's why I don't do much pre-crafting for golems! My chest just has golem-making blocks, bricks, blank cores and a few spare complete golems, like my crucible-filler and a stone lumberjack. Upgrade fixings and stuff to print cores mostly goes in other chests.

I would have posted pictures of my base, but I decided I was tired of living inside a Greatwood tree, cut it down, and began to build a new house on the other side of the river. As such, I decided it would be cool if I tried out the essentia mirrors, to make my infusion altar look slightly less lopsided. So, I have a question or two. It was a bit vague in the Thaumonomicon entry, so do the mirrors use Iter every jar of essentia transported, or just the item mirrors? Secondly, do the essentia mirrors work for jars a few blocks underneath them, with a floor in the way? Thanks for any help.

In 1.6.4,Highlands work properly with Thaumcraft?
In 1.7.2,i get some pretty bad lag,and little to no nodes generated.I think there is a bug with them, but i love all of the Highland biomes.
Currently i'm playing with vanilla generation, but the magical forests in highland look so cool (In Highlands they spawn at really big sizes,at least for me).
it looks like there is a incompatability w/ 1.7.10 :/ it loads fine enough generates in world, but anytime you shift click thaumcraft shits a brick about GUI Resolution and dies.
it looks like there is a incompatability w/ 1.7.10 :/ it loads fine enough generates in world, but anytime you shift click thaumcraft ****s a brick about GUI Resolution and dies.
It hasn't been updated for 1.7.10 yet.
This is the last mod I'm waiting for to fully upgrade to a 1.7.10 world, I have many others already ready and waiting, but this is the last one before I fully upgrade and start anew in 1.7.10
i know and from what i hear its pretty much a 50/50 gamble on 1.7.2 mods working in 1.7.10 anmd using JD-GUI Just to look at what its calling since the crash is a NoSuchMethod Error,
Will do! Thanks TPB! Also, you have MADE MY DAY... Turns out the ID for the flux potion was changed to fit my enchant IDs as it was under "enchants" so I gave it an ID within bounds for potions (21) and it works!!!
Lucky, Im still waiting at 1.6.4... Goddamn AM2 and Dimensional Doors U_U Ill probably not even pass by 1.7.2
I actually just re-created a 1.6.4 profile to make use of some mods that seem like will never be updated to 1.7.x
Mainly Magical Crops (in development) and a couple of chickenbones mods like translocaters.
Luckily MultiMC makes for very easy management of mods / versions so i have a few 1.7.2 profiles, one 1.7.10 (in progress of finding / updating) and now a 1.6.4
Constantly check back to here on a regular basis, and subscribed so i see any new posts, hoping for that day when i see the 1.7.10 build up and running
ive already seen that the 1.7.10 version of thaumcraft is on forgecraft 1. so its already updated so far, that its in the testing stages. i havent seen how much has changed yet. az might start to add content now, or he might already have a couple new things there.
either way, its making progress. just to calm everybody down whos asking for an update.
Everytime I add thaum, i get this error. I am running several other mods.

how important are structures like totems for research (loot/auras which you could possibly only get in/around these structures) or are they just adding a little bit gameplay?
They're semi-important. I only say that because they make it easy to get zombie brains. It is possible to still play TC4 without them though, and sinister nodes can also spawn naturally in the world as well.

Due to my snarky and sarcastic personality I can easily be seen as a jerk. If I've offended you in any way it was likely unintended.
You need them for Thaumic Tinkerer Osmotic Enchanter though.
They never mentioned anything about addons and besides, there's always infusion enchanting. That's way more balanced then the osmotic enchanter. My point is it's not important for TC4's progression.

What you expected me to put something here?!?
Can I use golems to harvets wool ?
They're semi-important. I only say that because they make it easy to get zombie brains. It is possible to still play TC4 without them though, and sinister nodes can also spawn naturally in the world as well.
They never mentioned anything about addons and besides, there's always infusion enchanting. That's way more balanced then the osmotic enchanter. My point is it's not important for TC4's progression.
