So with 1.8 right around the corner will you skip the 1.7.10 update? I'm only asking because my Fiance will not play minecraft with out this mod, and all of my game/mods are on 1.7.10... I need to know if you are planning to release a 1.7.10 because if you're not, and just going to skip to 1.8 then I need to revert all my mods down to older versions so we can play together. Thanks.

1.8 might be around the corner, but Forge for 1.8 certainly isn't. The next update is likely going to be for 1.7.10.

Something odd happened when I tried to smelt some Netherrack in my Infernal Furnace. I had three Arcane Bellows attached, and an "Ignis"-labeled Warded Jar on the top block of the output face. Beyond that, I can only provide the crash report, as follows:

PLEASE, if anyone can lend me a hand here, it would be greatly appreciated. This is a particularly unnerving bug, as I can no longer play in the world in which the error occurred. I would be very grateful to whomsoever could salvage Thaumius, since I have put a fair amount of work into this save - albeit, none of which included backing it up periodically, which, of course, is my own fault. XD

Update your forge to the latest (1147), there is an issue with certain forge versions (including the recommended forge version)and this mod due to the ore dictionary. The latest for 1.7.2 should fix the issue. Also, if you have not done so yet, update baubles to the latest (16) as it has a bug where when you die you loose everything except your baubles. I see you already have the latest Baubles.
This really should be mentioned in the OP, along with the baubles issue, as the latest 'recommended' forge version (1121), and the baubles version automatically downloaded (13) cause some pretty big issues. This would prevent about 90% of the errors posted here.
1.8 is actually not around the corner at all, Mojang stated not too long ago that it will take months to be released.
So enjoy your 1.7.10 after TC comes out for it until then.
seems like mojang switched to bigger updates at a slower pace now.
the next version is going to have relatively large changes compared to the previous versions. new mobs, with crafting recipes a whole bunch of new types of stones, decorative blocks and even a large new type of underwater dungeon.
not to mention the slight changes to the enchantment system.
while theyre on it, they could add a couple of basics, that no one would argue about, and that are already common in mods for a long time.
like barrels
ive never ever in my life have heared anyone say either. barrels arent useful, they are op, or they dont fit with vanilla.
im pretty much gonna wait till thaumcraft 4.2. before i really play again. all that vanilla brokeness and how it causes mods to be unstable is anyoing me just too much.
I have never had problems with Instrumentum, I dont know why everyone has. In fact, I have barely ever needed the Arcane Deconstructor at all, but those few experiences were burning up stacks of netherrack/redstone for a hour without being able to afk or do anything because if it creates an aspect it wont make more until I click it. And thats annoying.
Have you actually ever tried to research the primal staff? I'm pretty sure you need all the wands and staves unlocked before you can research the primal staff. That right there is a huge instrumentun sink.

Due to my snarky and sarcastic personality I can easily be seen as a jerk. If I've offended you in any way it was likely unintended.
After a while the amount of points I gain just from scanning random nodes is so huge that making instrumentum in the research table is a pretty painless process. And the staff of primal is Thaumcraft endgame, so I figured it was supposed to be hard to gain the points for it.
Ironically if you put the research difficulty on hard it's much easier to avoid the massive amounts of instrumentum needed, can use your junk points to take long routes around the research and save the important or more complex ones. Am I the only one who finds the hard research setting easier than the easy btw?
I know. I'm just saying that most people who are complaining about instrumentum are likely going after the primal staff research.
The irony of the easy/hard mode research has been brought up a few times. Imo it should be incorporated into the research system itself rather then a config option. You got the long but efficient way or the fast and expensive way.

With one exception regarding making more Instrumentum (Which in turn was because I was a fool and used it up making Tutamen) I've not once used my deconstruction table, though I have the advantage of this not being my first playthrough... there was no period of me spamming elements or researching in an inefficient way.
I just realized: we who were complaining about how you can no longer get Ordo by centrifuging Gelum have missed a new opportunity. Instrumentum! You can get tons of that by spinning down the Fabrico from crafting tables or the Machina from buttons. In fact, using Machina gets you Motus and Humanus along with your Ordo.
A research that lets you toogle beetween modes sounds cool. Perhaps after Research Duplication?
Yah, that sounds very cool. Perhaps once you get that research, all further researches would have both a "Buy" and "Get note" button.

You want a farm, you grab a hoe. You want a boat, you grab some wood. You want a fireplace, you grab A FLAMING HELL-BOULDER BECAUSE THAT'S HOW MINECRAFTERS ROLL!!!
More mods = more blocks and items. More blocks and items = more aspects available through scanning. Even if a mod doesn't have TC4 support many blocks and items will still get aspects through crafting.

The easier way would be to replace the paintings in your texture pack with images of the pages.
I might do this with, say, a table of the aspects. Thaumaturgical equivalent of the periodic table.
That would kinda be way OP...
