thank you for this great adventure. I found a strange issue.
Every time i look at a greatwood leaf it disappears and a silverwood leaf appears.
Is that so right?
i use Thaumcraft4.0.1b
That sounds like a long-standing buggy interaction with NEI. If you are using item highlight tips, try turning them off and see if the problem persists.
Running into some research difficulty myself - namely, the golem upgrade: earth. I have yet to get a pattern solvable with three Terra runes, and I have tried literally every other aspect that I have access to. Help?
ETA2: ...well, that's odd. I thought for sure I'd tried that one before among my deluge of red X's/fish. Found it, anyway.
thats odd. did you actually scan the nodes, or did you just look at them with the goggles? you should gain a bunch of research points for every of its aspects upon scanning a new node for the first time.
i also recommend scanning anything and everything you ever craft. if you make a new wand, scan the core, then scan the caps, then scan the finished wand.
when you scan a new material, scan its ore, the blocks and the nuggets. for example, when you scan coal, also scan coal blocks, and coal ore. when you scan an iron ingot, scan the nuggets, the ore, and the iron block.
etc.
also, when i made this whole post about the specialized wands, compared to the silverwood core, stupid me didnt realize silverwood has a maximum capacity of 100. for some reason, i thought it has 150 capacity, so the 75er specialized wands would be more like an intermediate step.
thats what i get for not looking into the thaumonomicon before posting.
I seem to have a bug where all the completed research is no longer researched... this happed after i created a new world in creative to test a few things from portal gun and some of the goloums, and all the research vanished when i returned to my survival world. my research table has all of the aspects that i had before.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I assume i will have to re-research everything i lost.
I ran and ran and ran from spawn - until I found a nice valley that Zan's minimap indicated was clear of taint (at its maximum zoom level). Set up shop in a Natura redwood and started the basic vanilla survival stuff - penned some cows and sheep, planted wheat and bamboo.
A few days of branch mining and farming pass, and I suddenly notice a cluster of purple dots on the minimap about 50-60 blocks NE of my base.
Am I going to have to move - or does TC4 contain items that, if I start my TC4 research now, that I will be able to use to clear the advancing taint / hold it at bay at least? Or am I doomed to loose this site to purple corruption?
ok seems like decanting golems don't like ender tanks as water source...
edit: I was on an outdated vers... upgrading to b and see if still crash on loading world
nope still crash:
java.lang.StackOverflowError

Edit 2: updated even forge and checked for version of ender storage (was the latest) so everithing updated still crash... I "fixed" it though with a BC tank next to the ender one... after removing the ender tank with MCEdit to make the save load
It seems to be infinitely calling itself. Maybe you should post this on that mods forum as well
those nodes look kind of cool in their jars. can we make it so, that we can drain vis directly from nodes in jars? and only shift clicking them will break the jar and release the node.
also im getting paranoid about accidentally breaking a node. imo they shouldnt be destructible by normal means. at least not by punching, or with pickaxes. it would be nice, if that was at least limited to a shift + klick function.
i miss growing my giant personl node. combining nodes, that are trapped in jars into greater notes on the infusion altar would be cool. i feel we need this feature more than ever, since higher teir item vis costs, and wand capacities are more than double we can get out of a node.
Nodes in jar's that are actually usable for anything other than decoration would be OP. Moving them is already bad enough
Nodes used to be indestructable, but several issues popped up with that during testing. They could get in the way of peoples builds (CPW's massive train system on FC2 was one - halfway through he got stuck because a node was in the way of the build and it had to be removed with creative).
It also gives you the option of getting rid of hostile nodes if you have no other choice. I also like the idea of them being fragile magical constructs. Even swinging a pick through them a few times will be enough to disrupt the magic that holds it together.
Im having an issue trying to make the magic mirror. I put the quicksilver and the glass pane on the table to make the glass for the mirror and it shows the essence that must be used but when I put my thaumium capped silverwood wand onto the table the aspect vanish and I can't craft the glass I need. I've tried all the other wands too and can't use them either, despite all the wands having more then enough essence in them.
Anyone else having this issue?
derpity derp i figured out my issue..stupid me...need to do it on the matrix @[email protected]
Yo dawg, I heard you liked mining diamonds with diamonds so we put diamonds in your mine so you can mine with your diamonds while you mine your diamonds.

fair enough
but how about limiting it to a shift klick function still?
So there a way to remove TC4 taint or at the very least stop it from spreading? Haven't installed atm cause of the conflict with Rei's, but unstoppable taint does seem like a pretty big deal breaker.
JP miner one of your mods has a bad version of the Thaumcraft API. It looks like it's Biomes 'o' Plenty as previously mentioned in this thread, please look back for your answer.
I have and the only other way for me to get this fixed is to wait for another version of thaumcraft, I would like it to be fixed before hand beacuse I really want to get started with thaumcraft. Someone said to delete thaumcrafts api in the jar, I would like that to be a bit more specific because i still am not a pro at this, im good but not this good

Can't find nodes, even with goggles :/ One in temple, one in thaumcraft dungeon and two probably spawned by my cauldron. None with fire aspect. Are they supposed to be so rare?
I´ve got some derpy Texture Bugs .
when i look at any TC plant/saplings it dissapier but it´s still there (when i breake the block under it drop the Item it would normaly drop)
when i place a block next to a dissapired plant /sapling it appears......
and when i look on Greatwood leaves they turn into silverwoodleaves they also dropp silverwood saplings
Please give me an answer:)

Where the second option if set to "true" is deactivated because relying to the first option.
That ' s simple and fair for everyone i guess...
How about implement some instability if a node is too frequently used ?
Like changing its behavior or making it become more " agressive " like a living being ?
For example one aspect of a node can changed to a more darker one with time passing and after being used too often ?
Just wondering ...

try to remove all existing configs in modfolder and configfolder

Turn NEI tooltip highlights off.

I think nodes should be immaterial and not destructable by any physical means, only by magical ones like a wand which leaks all the aspects in them.
Why about make an option in the config file like this :
"IndestructableNodes=true"
"ShiftclickRemovingNodes=false"
Where the second option if set to "true" is deactivated because relying to the first option.
