Congratulations on the 1.10 release! And if you need help porting to 1.12 I can always help. I have a lot of experience with porting several of my mods to that version. Personally I would skip 1.11 as very few people are using that version. 1.10.2 was a good choice for an initial port but then I would go to 1.12.2 directly.

Eeeeeeeeee! I can't tell you how excited me and my roommate are. I introduced him to Thaumcraft via a modpack (Regrowth, to be precise,) and he's loved it ever since. You do realize he told us once it's in a stable enough form he's porting it right? 1.10 was where this journey started. It'll make it to 1.12 in due time. Journey before destination after all.

Is the Focal Manipulator currently working in the beta? I can't figure out how to get it working.
There's enough vis in the area, I have the levels, the crystals in my inventory as well as a Blank Caster Focus in the slot, but the Start Crafting button does nothing.
Do I need to do something specific with the vis crystals?
Edit: Ah nevermind, spoke too soon. It seems a medium component is necessary.
Edit 2: Alright, now that I've played around with the Focal Manipulator, I have to say, it's really cool.
I'm sure you have plenty of ideas for it, but these are some that come to mind:
Focus Medium: Beam. Channels a beam that will cause cause the effect to have much lower effect but hit continuously. (Obviously inspired by how the old Mining Focus looked.)
Focus Medium: Summon. Similar to the Nine Hells Focus, it summons a bat (or maybe different creature depending on element?) that homes in and explodes with its effect on an enemy.
Focus Effect: Life. Will slowly heal any targeted creatures. Can cause grass to grow on dirt and a bone meal effect on crops.
Focus Effect: Wind. Applies a knockback effect to a mob that scales with potency.

Just got started on it and so far it's amazing. My only complaint is that you no longer have to hold down for a few seconds to scan with the thaumometer. Sort of pulls me out a bit, and the noise it makes is rather spammy and annoying.
is it okay if I use TC 6 in an unlisted modpack designed for my private (soon to be semi-private, i.e. whitelisted) server?

Hey a bit of feedback here, I was playing around in creative and I wanted to scan my cauldron I right clicked it and instead of scanning it the cauldron ate it. You might want to disable that functionality for the scanner, many thaumometers will be saved!

I suspect it has to do with the folder name (Thaumcraft is back!!) you created - Java can be a bit picky about that kind of thing sometimes
