Most likely because there are multiple trending modpacks for 1.10.2.
I would like to play Thaumcraft once again myself but Stranded Forever, SkyFactory 3, Farming Valley, Coop Life or Sprout are fun as well. I'm not that keen on rebuilding one of those modpacks from scratch to include the current Thaumcraft, mostly because some mods are not compatible/available on previous versions of Minecraft.
I don't feel like Thaumcraft belongs into a skyblock challenge anyway.
Anyone know if TC 6 will have some new armor? i found some really cool concepts around the place and was wondering if these were scrapped or put aside for later?
There's a mod for TC4 on 1.7.10 called Thaumic Dyes that implements most of those armor sets, it's actually pretty cool. Not officially sanctioned iirc, though.
So i am playing this on a server me and my friend put together and theres a major issue where i scan something with the thaumometer, but the aspects never show up in the research table, i can make aspects using the primal ones that you start out with but nothing i scan adds anything to the research table. I've tried logging out and back in, ive tried directly connecting to the server with its ip, none of this stuff has worked, so if someone has a answer id super appreciate it.
I'm using the most current version of thaumcraft and the server is hosted using creeperhost
Research doesn't work like it did in TC4, so you can't get aspects that way. It isn't an issue at all, unless you're not using TC5.
I'm in the process of building a base and have hit a bit of a creative roadblock when it comes to implementing elements from Thaumcraft into it. I'm wondering if anyone has some unique ideas on how I could integrate things like the Infusion Altar or the Infernal Furnace into my base. Even just some screenshots of your own Thaumic homes would be a lovely source of inspiration.

I personally put the infusion altar on the roof because of it's size (also it makes a nice roof decoration) and an infernal furnace on the bottom floor with a hole in the ceiling above it so i can throw in ores from the first floor.
anyone know if thaumic dyes has compatibility with TC 5?
This would be much better asked somewhere actually related to that mod - you're lucky I stumbled across it at all.
There are not currently any plans to update it past 1.7 - TC5/1.8 simply aren't worth rewriting the mod for.
Besides, I still have planned content for it, and don't have any intent to stop playing/developing on 1.7 for the time being.

Can any addon be called "officially sanctioned"? TC addons just seem to be their own thing. It's not like Azanor has a stamp of approval that says "This addon is alright", does he?
Yeah there is the addon section in the op but it hasnt been touched in literal years. so i wouldnt really put much credit into it anymore, as its never really been updated. even thaumcraft addons that were on the forgecraft dev server, atleast the one direwolf20 would show gameplay of, arent on the list, with azanor being one of the people on said server

Forum OPs are not good places to look for current news, because the forum software is so buggy; Editing a large and/or complex post is so likely to blow up and Break All The Formatting, that most of the old-timers have gotten to shy away from doing so.

I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.

I think Thaumcraft is over, it stopped the updates!
Nope it is still alive, thaumcraft 6 is currently in the alpha stage it is just that progress has been slow updating it, if you go look at Azanors posts you will see that he is still working on it.

Azanor's not done, he's just got a real life is all.

I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!

I totally agree with you Shirololl! I remember the days when Mojang updates took like 6 months for the release or even more, and when the modders had the time to update their mods and slowly/fast (depends the modder) "cleaning" them from the bugs/glitches. Now is nearly impossible release an updated mod and make it very well.
I hope that Mojang is going to slow down a bit (with updates) to leave the modders update their mods.
Hmm... You know I do have to wonder if Azanor is going to release a public test build once the alpha for Thaumcraft v2 is pretty far along. This way he's giving the broad public a taste of what's coming as well as having more people testing and getting the mod to break so he can fix it... Though this is just an idea of mine and based upon pure, unfounded speculation. So it's more likely he's not going to do that... Please ignore my ramblings of a mad 'crafter.
Honestly instead of slowing down I wish Mojang would just release a mod api so that mods wouldn't break or at least would be easier for people to update their mod instead of having to rewrite the entire thing 6 times. They have been saying the mod api is coming since 2011 and yet here we are in 2017 still without a single sight of an api...

Don't click this link, HE is haunting it...
if you ever think something like that is true all you have to do is check the modders last post
It's not Azanor being slow, it's Mojang being too damn fast
I made a D flip-flop!
Time just progresses faster here then the pocket dimension that TC gets worked on in.

Well I guess after the combat update their changes won't be as major.
But I would very much welcome if they stopped making completely arbitrary changes in rapid updates, it ruins the game for 99% of us.
