Could someone suggest me some ressource packs that are compatible with thaumcraft? I'm searching far and wide for some of them, and still haven't found any...
VonDoomCraft just recently got a patch a few pages back. Other than that not too sure. Probably some form of support in Sphax as well.

So,searching the thread turned up a couple of factoids about Three Meat Treat - one, that it involves sugar as well, but the other was that it might have been "accidentally left out" of this release. The "obvious" shapeless recipe isn't working, can someone tell me what the real deal is?
I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.

Speaking of fish- Is there a fishing golem? If not, I'd like to suggest one. With the fishing overhaul, that NO ONE remembers, it would have some benefits.
Evern since growthcraft didn't update to 1.6.x and I dropped it and thus lost access to a passive fishing net, i've given up on taming cats or doing anything at all involving fishing.

As it stands, I consider the boots of the traveler the hardest item to get in TC4 with the recipes requirement for a fish. Luckily I found some fish in a chest in my current game.
When I've no major projects in minecraft to work on and am feeling in a roleplay-y mood, I take my boat down squid river on a fishing expedition. Nice way to see some countryside, and is an enjoyable enough way to spend time idly.
That said yes, the mechanic is in serious need of some love. There's a few little gimmicks (Fish bite more often in rain) but for the most part there's just no reason to do it, especially given the over-abundance of food.
Is there a way to disable Magical Forest Biome? Or to make them smaller? I'm getting huge magical forest biomes, roughly 30-35 times bigger then a normal biome.
I'm using it with 1.6.4 and thaumic tinker latest version. I am using the normal biome creator.
Modpack? Other mods? Ive seen nothing odd with the size of magical forests in 1.6.4 using both BoP, EBXL and Vanilla generators.
If its not just an artifact of your seed then it must be an intermod interaction.
Interesting fact: changing biome mods does NOT change the overall topology of the world given the same seed, ocean's will be in the same place and have the same shape, and each biome from the one set of biome mods will be replaced with an indentically shaped biome modulus the new total.
So, if you create a vanilla game, using the same map seed, it should give you something huge where that magical forest is.

Oh, come on... the old fishing is a bit boring, but almost every house I've made has eventually gotten a fishing ledge or nearby perch, because (up to 1.6.x) cats, and (1.7 on) loot. They key is to do it in "spare time", from a safe perch over outside water, and (especially for old fishing) while it's raining. (I don't like running around in the rain anyway.) Rainy nights are perfect.
In 1.7, fishing got a major overhaul. Rain still helps (but not as much), and now you get multiple fish types, assorted "junk" (much of which is useful supplies early on)... and magic items! Enchanted bows, books, and more fishing rods, all with serious enchantments (fishing rods get enchantments too, including one to "fish faster"). You might never have to craft a second fishing rod... unless you want to repair an especially good catch! A fishing golem would be utterly OP with the new catches.

I can't be excited by a feature that encourages me to simply subtract minutes from my life. I mean, Ive played Wow. Ive done a lot of grinding for XP or reputation. And there at least is something ... soothing about the ongoing activity - there is thought involved - shall I kill that group or this next? Which path is most efficient?
Fishing on the other hand. Fishing in games. Is not a game. Its just watching a clock tick down. I can literally feel myself aging, getting that much closer to death, when a game makes me "fish" for some reward. I get tunnel vision waiting for the little sploosh. I can't read forums. Read a book. Or even watch tv on the side lest I miss the #*$&*ing little sploosh.
So, and I cannot formulate this thought without a lot of expletives. #*$&! fishing. #($&! it hard. As a matter of principal I will find some way to automate it. In whichever game I find it. And I will not feel guilty because it is a stupid #($*ing idea and the developers who include it in games and tie it to actual rewards need to be beaten. literally beaten. For wasting people's time. For murdering a little bit of everyones soul.
Hello. Azanor it will be great if you add a "Healing ward" - object which will slowly heal any "live" creatures around of it. What do you think about it?
Anyone else running into the issue where the haste enchant on boots stops working when you switch dimensions? If I take the boots off and put them on again it fixes the problem until I switch to a different dimension again. Very annoying.
Yep. But I suppose a little bit different usage. Splash potions good for urgent usage, in fights for example. And they are rather expensive.
So I'd like to have a "static" object which can be placed in village for healing villagers. Or placed at home and heal injured pets. Or in any another place for making it more safety.

I found that if I sprint, the speed will go back to the normal (fast) speed when the sprint finishes.

Thanks for the tip about sprinting. That is a much quicker and easier fix than taking the boots off and putting them back on again.

I already removed addons like thaumic exploration and others, what I thought are causing the problem, but it remains. Please, would you be so kind, and tell me what's causing the error?
I've been playing around with the special tools...
The Shovel of the Earthmover is pretty cool, but the in-game description of the right-click "undig" feature is not quite right.
It doesn't work if you right-click against a flat surface, but if you click against a protruding block (or at least one with a gap next to it), it will place surrounding blocks to fill out a 3x3 section. Fun discovery: The "undig" works on non-diggable blocks too -- you can lay down stone floors and walls! Also good for converting flint: Alternately pillar-jump and undig to build a 3x3 pillar of gravel, then superdig that down.
This has been useful for moving my equipment pits around, as I've more-or-less swapped my crucible and distilling pits to put the jars next to the altar. Also for filling in craters (I accidentally nuked my former crucible pit when I had alumentium in the hotbar ).

Come on, you need to get ONE fish to make the boots of the traveller. It's not like the fishing is really being pushed on you. Just fish up that one fish and be reminded how much you hate fishing
A million years ago, when EQ first came out, I would wake up early on a Sunday morning, make a pot of coffee and a stack of cinnamon toast, and head on over to the Crystal Caverns where there was a quiet pool of water deep down in the caves that had a shore that was safe from monsters. There would be almost nobody online at that hour, and those that were on were the last of the latenighters from Asia, so the game chat was not so much for me, kek. There I would fish and drink coffee until the rest of the world woke up. Fishing has it's purpose.

If anyone is finding fishing in minecraft to be difficult (missing the bite due to timing, or that darn bobber faking you out), use the force! Fish blindfolded. Don't watch the bobber at all. Just listen for the "kersplash" sound and let it play out fully, then click to reel fish in. Your ears won't be fooled as easily as your eyes. I've fished this way while watching Netflix. Takes a lot less concentration.
If you are running Mo'Creatures, all the fish in the water drop fish and can be killed with your sword, and there is a fishing net. If you are running minefactory, there IS a fishing machine.
It would be cool to see a golem with a fishing rod. My only concern is in making it too easy, but then again fish really aren't that great a food so who really cares if players can easily get a chest full of them. Would have to keep upcoming changes in 1.7 in mind though.
What about doing something with that Pech that holds the fishing rod?

Thanks for the tip about sprinting. That is a much quicker and easier fix than taking the boots off and putting them back on again.
I'm having a little problem with the research table a while. When I try to add a new aspect to create a research, my game crashes.

Is Modded: Definitely; Client brand changed to 'fml,forge'
I already removed addons like thaumic exploration and others, what I thought are causing the problem, but it remains. Please, would you be so kind, and tell me what's causing the error?

The Shovel of the Earthmover is pretty cool, but the in-game description of the right-click "undig" feature is not quite right.
It doesn't work if you right-click against a flat surface, but if you click against a protruding block (or at least one with a gap next to it), it will place surrounding blocks to fill out a 3x3 section. Fun discovery: The "undig" works on non-diggable blocks too -- you can lay down stone floors and walls! Also good for converting flint: Alternately pillar-jump and undig to build a 3x3 pillar of gravel, then superdig that down.
This has been useful for moving my equipment pits around, as I've more-or-less swapped my crucible and distilling pits to put the jars next to the altar. Also for filling in craters (I accidentally nuked my former crucible pit when I had alumentium in the hotbar ).

Yes, there's fishing in every great adventure game!
Come on, you need to get ONE fish to make the boots of the traveller. It's not like the fishing is really being pushed on you. Just fish up that one fish and be reminded how much you hate fishing
A million years ago, when EQ first came out, I would wake up early on a Sunday morning, make a pot of coffee and a stack of cinnamon toast, and head on over to the Crystal Caverns where there was a quiet pool of water deep down in the caves that had a shore that was safe from monsters. There would be almost nobody online at that hour, and those that were on were the last of the latenighters from Asia, so the game chat was not so much for me, kek. There I would fish and drink coffee until the rest of the world woke up. Fishing has it's purpose.
Game mechanic for fishing is getting some love in 1.7, and for those who wish for more, give Aquaculture a try http://www.minecraft...ge-aquaculture/ .
If anyone is finding fishing in minecraft to be difficult (missing the bite due to timing, or that darn bobber faking you out), use the force! Fish blindfolded. Don't watch the bobber at all. Just listen for the "kersplash" sound and let it play out fully, then click to reel fish in. Your ears won't be fooled as easily as your eyes. I've fished this way while watching Netflix. Takes a lot less concentration.
If you are running Mo'Creatures, all the fish in the water drop fish and can be killed with your sword, and there is a fishing net. If you are running minefactory, there IS a fishing machine.
It would be cool to see a golem with a fishing rod. My only concern is in making it too easy, but then again fish really aren't that great a food so who really cares if players can easily get a chest full of them. Would have to keep upcoming changes in 1.7 in mind though.
What about doing something with that Pech that holds the fishing rod?
