I seem to have an odd bug, I'm trying to unlock the elemental tools, it says i need to make several thaumium tools, it worked fine for the first few however it wont except the axe and sword ive made, Ive tried making them over and over, different types of sticks, in different crafting tables, everything yet it wont unlock at all :S anyone know of a way to get past this
have you found a solution to this? I have the same issue.
I was following i/f progress and i heard It would crash with thaum for some tamable weird stuff and its a bug in thaumcraft How can we reach az to fix this?

First make sure you're using Beta 16.
To unlock the research, you have to hold all the crafted tools in your inventory at once.
If you are holding all 5 at the same time and it still won't unlock, it may be a bug. Similar things happened to other people but that should have been fixed by now.

An issue with spellbats is that multiple bats don't really increase the damage output, and each individual bat does 1/3rd of the damage the focus would have originally done, at a much higher complexity cost of 8, compared to Projectile's 4. The mobs have a brief period of invunerability after a spellbat hit as well. Now a swarm of bats still do have a benefit (absorbing projectiles that would have been shot at you, doesn't matter if a few die, and a few other minor benefits).
They are definitely more fire and forget though. Just cast and keep moving, no aiming required.
They probably would work well with the healing focus though, although their complexity + heal focus complexity means you can't get that strong of a healing focus, and it is more of the regeneration effect than the bulk heal.

I'm using the standard download of the FTB Revelation 2. The Thaumcraft version is 1.12.2-6.1.BETA16. I did have all the tools and it still won't unlock. I went into creative mode and crafted them several different ways, tried it on a new arcane workbench in a new location, tossed them on the ground and picked them back up, restarted it and tried again to no avail. Strangely it's only the axe and sword that have issues.

Ok, then that's confirmation that this bug is still present in Beta 16. Thanks!

I dunno, they kill things pretty quickly! And what clinches them for me is the way they scatter and look for more mobs. One or two casts can clear a wide area! Maybe three, if swarms knock some mobs back and leave something else closer.
Can someone tell me how to hook up the vis generator to the stabilizer? I've got them next to each other, but nothing seems to be happening.
If I recall correctly, you have to place it clicking on the metal thing at the top of the bottom. The tricky part for me was to place the battery looking to where I wanted.

The stabilizer has four 'metal things'. The generator has eight, plus one white one, plus one red end. Which of those do I want facing the stabilizer? I've tried every way I can think of. Is there some visual response when the stabilizer is powered?
I got one to work briefly (before the server crashed) by placing the generator on a block first, facing towards the runic matrix (so horizontally). Placed the Stabilizer on the end facing the Matrix, so the stabilizer "rod" faces the Matrix too.
A stream of translucent steam came off the assembly. It crashed when I attempted to do an infusion, you theoretically should be able to see the particle stream before crashing anything!? Some people have been lucky and this didn't happen to them at all apparently.

Sigh. No matter how I place it, nothing happens. I tried doing an infusion, and still nothing happens. I guess it just isn't ready for prime time yet.
Aha! I figured it out! Apparently, there was a mod conflict. (I was also using Quark, Bibliocraft, and Notes.) I tried disabling each of them in turn, and it worked each time. Then I tried enabling them all again, and it's working. I'm guessing there was some sort of ordering conflict the first time it loaded.
The red end faces the stabilizer, and purple steam comes off the business end.
EDIT: Looks like I have to disable the mods every time I put in a new stabilizer, though. Then reenable.
EDIT: Hmm. Even with only Thaumcraft enabled, the stabilizer doesn't activate unless I log out and back in.
EDIT: And now, even with only Thaumcraft enabled, the stabilizer has stopped working again. I'm at a loss. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.
Beta 16 has a bug where they don't close at all unfortunately. Gotta wait for 17 to come out, or revert (but I can't promise that won't screw other things up).

New player to TC6 here - I did play TC4/5 extensively, but struggling a bit to wrap my head around the Aura/Flux mechanics. Hoping you guys can help out.
First question I have is just what is supposed to be the intended method of reducing Flux in an area?
A comment I read several pages back seemed to suggest that Taint Seeds always spawn on the uppermost solid block of whatever X-Z coordinate they're at. Is this still supposed to be true? Because 2/4 of the ones I've seen so far were underground; first appeared to be hanging from the ceiling above an underground pocket of lava next to my house that I didn't even realize was there until I had to look into why I was getting taint poisoning any time I went outside, and second inside my mineshaft - that one actually died on it's own just after I found it. It was clipped slightly into a wall, maybe it suffocated? I suspect this has actually happened twice, because there was another time that I got Taint Poisoning in that area, and while I never found the Seed the second time, it stopped on it own and I did eventually find a Vitium crystal on the ground.
Are Taint Seeds intended to have quite so much HP? Combined with them effectively having a Wither aura, the only way I've found to reliably kill them has been running up to get close enough to drop a bucket of lava and then usually dieing before I can get back out to safety.
Am I doing something wrong that I essentially have eternal Flux Phage III? Even not doing anything anymore that should be generating Flux, the frequency of this effect just seems insane.
Two images attached. What exactly are these, and what do they do/is supposed to be done with them?
Edit: Also, crafting a full Warded Jar into a Void Jar returns an empty Void Jar, and doesn't seem to release any Flux. Feels exploit-y.
I'm pretty sure it's https://github.com/Azanor/thaumcraft-beta/issues/1008
Good to know, thank you.

Don't sweat it, there's apparently some kind of synchronization issue. The working indications aren't always there when the stuff is working.
Can anyone tell me how long a rift lasts? I have gotten several Giant Seeds and many Wisps, but it has not closed yet. Still getting bigger actually.

Only thing is, five stabilizers pointed at the runic matrix aren't seeming to have any effect on stability.
