Hey there is a massive bug when updating our server to your newest version, almost all the blocks are removed, stuff like infernal furnaces, tubes, totems ect. they jsut disapear so we are not updating till this issue is fixed :c

you dont have to chose. its possible to keep playing thaumcraft on 1.7.10 and the new version on 1.8.9.

yeah but i won't be able to really get into that deep if i'm just still playing my 1.7.10 world. i still will some but it sure would be nice if all the best mods/modders would be able to stick with a version.

Don't feel bad. It sounds really obvious, but vanilla's golems are so rarely used it's really easy to just completely forget about them. TC5 just needs some kind of hint system for researches requiring something specific to be scanned.

Sadly there's a very limited number of mods for 1.8.9 at the moment, but after a bit of testing it seems like most mods for 1.8.8 also work for 1.8.9 and even one very important mod for fun play in 1.8.0

I love the Aerial Essentia Transfusion. Distillating in 5.0.3 without golems and with no way to distillexact phialable amount of essentia was extremely painful.
the sudden realization that 1.8.9. doesnt have inventory tweaks.
since were at it. iron chests didnt update yet aswell. anyone know of a good storage mod for that version? preferably with barrels.
i just like certain utility mods to go along with thaumcraft. i know already im going to miss the dolly just to reorganize chests.

Azanor is going to force everyone else to update their mods to 1.8.9 now
I'm missing NEI, Inventory Tweaks, LiteLoader, Matmos, Iron Chests, JourneyMap.... I could go on. It's strange playing such a bare instance of modded Minecraft.
EDIT: Seems JEI (JustEnoughItems) works and Inventory Tweaks was just updated with a version-less 1.8 download. FastLeafDecay also has a 1.8.9 version. Going to see if AntiqueAtlas or JourneyMap will work. Other then that it seems all the basic convenience mods (or variants of them) are available!
EDIT 2: JourneyMap (journeymap-1.8.8-5.1.3-unlimited) works in 1.8.9, Antique Atlas does not. Unfortunately I doubt LiteLoader and thus MatMos will be updated any time soon so the lovely Atmospheric sound scape is gone Still, Golems are worth it!
A suggestion that probably floated already once or twice previously, but have you considered making a Thaumcrafty dragon? Not a flux one (would ruin the atmosphere, quite literally too), but more on the lines of golemancy-your magical projectile breathing piece of steampunk-ish machinery (would make sense for it to fly too, since, often you are stuck with the option of choosing full Fortress/Cultist Armor, or Thaumostatic Harness - free flight, but you lose the kinda "cool" attribute). Especially now that your 5.x version of Thaumcraft is going through development, it can be a rather fine idea.
P.S. Something like this in mind-the Minecrafty, slightly derpy looking, style )

A dragonish Thaumcraft mount, however, seems like an awesome idea. The major mount Minecraft has right now is a horse. And while I consider horses absolutely necessary for exploration, there are so many things about them, that just suck:
- Poor forest mobility
- Forcing you to stop at oceans
- You can't leave them anywhere, because they always wander off on their own and attempt to suicide and when you need them the next time, they're gone.
If Azanor attempted it and made a mount, that can, when properly handled defeat all these three problems then Thaumcraft would get an even longer list of qualities that potentially make it the greatest mod ever.
I am imagining that on a basic level it would just be a slower horse, that can swim a bit or jump really high with negligible fall damage that you can force to wait indefinitely somewhere, but when upgraded in some awesome and expensive ways can nearly fly, swim well, pack a real punch and easily take one while being loyal and obedient like a wolf.
While I can understand your love for copper-zinc alloys I would actually prefer my dragon to be a living creature that I could be fond of.

Dragons in all 6 Colours...or even more...
Dragons that cannot fly but run and swim really well...
Tiny dragons, smaller than horses that fit through doors...
Giant dragons, that are really immobile, but make a good turret...

slightly different, and it's more lightweight so it doesn't have stuff like the potion generator/enchanting, but for enchantments it does add all of the max level enchanted books to its lists instead.
Awesome, too bad it doesn't have the other stuff like the utility buttons(Creative, heal/feed, rain, time of day, etc.)

Actually Azanor created the greatest mount ever introduced in Minecraft back with Thaumcraft 2. The Magic Carpet! I really miss that item. Sure, we have the harness now for flying, but the carpet was really useful, if not particularly thematic.

Boots of a traveller with haste plus new hook focus are already much faster and mobile then vanilla horse.
And I have a problem (bug?) - spreading taint thingy has no texture for me.
And any tips on effectively removing taint dust? It is harder to clean up then taint itself.
