I am hoping that features related to golem(s) are still open for discussion because I would like to discuss and expand on an existing idea from TC4.
I remember in the lore something known as the "Golem Uprising", I don't remember reading a discussion here about it so ...
What do we all think about maintaining "Control" over your "warped" creations? And what would maintain said control?
I imagine knowledge/warp being an important factor in keeping control over these tricky little demons, and allowing them access to certain Items, blocks, or entities could increase their chances of refusing to do any of the assigned tasks and creating new ones of their own
No matter how you put it, tainted nodes and prespawned taint do not make sense (lore-wise), because they must have been around for centuries before and the taint is so destructive that if a world was completely loaded everywhere(hypothetically) it would not last a year.
Unless we say Thaumcraft 5 literally takes place in a time few years before the end of the world.
At least, they make no sense being out and active. However, one thing that might be cool is to have the occasional large crystal of fossil taint, which when broken gives a few tainted crystal seeds (or something) and a huge belch of flux or even a bad node. Maybe you'd need to do something special to it to make it open, like craft it or heat it or something, so a crystal in the wrong place can't form an obstacle you don't dare move.
Hmm... Golem reworks eh? I'm not going to lie; the changes to nodes and taint are a bit... Well, more than a bit irritating but this looks interesting. In TC4 I actually used those buggers a lot; their sight range isn't all that impressive but I still managed to find them useful for just about anything, and fun to experiment with (considering I constructed the craziest guard golem known to man completely by accident).
This crazy guard golem sounds like a good story. Tell?
As cool as that sounds my innner thaumiturge says thats as dangerous as taking a thaumic slime as your pet, wisps as we know it are extremely unstable. balls of energy that have verying reactions to other things. ie, hey this wisp has never attacked me, and this one is trying to erase me from the world. technically you can already induce wisp spawns via node magnet, and, i think it'd be a bit more complex to instill energy with loyalty to a thaumaturge, at the very least, i wouldnt expect those considered sane to be able to do such a feat.

1. I agree there should be flux/taint TRAPS or something that makes sense to send everything to hell when triggered. Something impossible to predict without high-tier scanning equipment, but posssible to disarm when you see it coming?
This way we would STILL have taint in the world generation, but it would no longer have been there and spreading for an eternity before.
Also a thaumaturge would make sense to have the means to stop it.

When angered however ALL of them attacked you, so they must be somewhat sentient.

A wisp pet? That's like the best thing ever.

So starting around TC4 I decided I wanted to make factions around my world and introduce a story line among the crimson cult and the Eldritch beings, I wanted to have this here but at the same time let Minecraft keep its feel of freedom so using Customnpcs I have started doing it. This is the second version of it because I restarted it for TC5, I make this post for anyone else who is doing something like this, I make buildings for different types of people, giving each faction their own architecture too, this is the crimson cult watch tower I created. Does anyone else do stuff like this/ Want to share their Building Types?
Looks nice man! Is there any relation to a certain faction with the building? or is it just thaumcrafty? (i really love the design, looks like some epic monastery/castle combo, but in my opinion i feel it uses the cobblestone a bit much haha, but that's just my take)

Because i mimic medieval/gothic architecture, which doesn't have a ton of colors on the exterior. it keep things somewhat realistic. the only time i'll use color is when i make my japanese castle. If i use color on the exterior its usually in the form of banners and other decoration.

it crashed and it says it needs codechickenlib ik what that is but this should get fixed
That would be from CodeChickenCore, which is the core mod for NEI. Not a Thaumcraft bug.

I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.

So when I try to play with forge it runs fine, but when I try ThaumCraft V, I just get a white screen at the main menu... any help?

My forgecraft base, complete with a hidden room behind the clocktower, an observatory and serveral rooms for Thaumcraft and immersiveengineering.
I used structural cables to hold up the Vis relays

Wow those relays really add to the thaumcraft messy magic feel!sadly we don't have them in TC5 so i cannot do that
Well, as the creator of the crimson cult models, you could call it the crimson Headquaters since i created them ;P
I don't really have a lot of pictures laying around, i upload a few to twitter. I more or less build and forget.

if it's too lighthearted the game gets more dark and serious in the later parts and genocide
Because i mimic medieval/gothic architecture, which doesn't have a ton of colors on the exterior. it keep things somewhat realistic. the only time i'll use color is when i make my japanese castle. If i use color on the exterior its usually in the form of banners and other decoration.
That place seems familiar, saw something like it on one of direwolf's videos some time ago.
