So you start off by crafting a wand, then using it to make your thaumonomicon. Once you do that, you can use your want to make a Thaumometer. Trouble is.. you need the Thaumometer to find Aura Nodes, but Vis FROM Aura Nodes is required in order to even MAKE the Thaumometer and when you get the starter wand it is 100% empty of Vis.
So.. if I need Vis to find an Aura Node to GET Vis.. in order to help me find Vis to... you get the picture.
I could find anything. I've started a Google Spreadsheet that anyone can edit so that we can complie a complete list of aspect combinations and aspects used in research.

What? You don't need Vis for a Thaumometer, it's a vanilla crafting table recipe. Nor do you need a wand for it.

You can make the thaumometer in a vanilla crafting bench. It does not require vis to craft.

Good work on getting Thaumcraft 4 ready for release Azanor!
I'm actually thinking about writing short (4 lines, tops) poems for most of the Thaumonomicon entries, having recently gotten into writing poems.

I got all happy, then crashes, and after 3 hours of trying to fix this no luck. Even doing the take on mod out at a time trick doesn't work... It seems like MANY people are having issues. Azanor, the Frequently Asked Questions section needs the answers please. Also why is it crashing for so many people? Azanor, many people don't play without certain mods, like me. I have 150~ mods installed, so its a pain for trying to fix. Please help;

A detailed walkthrough of the error, its code path and all known details is as follows:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unfortunately it is not something I can fix - in this case it is Biomes o'Plenty that is causing the crash. They need to fix it their side.
Not us, it's him.
BiomesOPlenty{0.6.2} [Biomes O' Plenty] (Biomes-O-Plenty-0.6.2-1.6.2.jar) Unloaded->Constructed->Pre-initialized->Initialized->Errored
1.1.2 is the latest version, with full Thaumcraft 4 support for both 1.6.2 and 1.6.4. But of course, that's a bit hard for some people to understand even with us having an update nagger >_>
Is anyone else getting these bugs...
point at greatwood leaves and they turn into silverwood leaves.
point at the white and blue thaumcraft flowers and they dissapear, but you can use water to harvest them into quicksilver w/o looking at them.

I suspect you have NEI highlight tips turned on - try turning that off. If not, then I can't help you, sorry.

After doing a fair bit of exploration I'm convinced that something's wrong with the terrain generation. I've run across 5 different magical forest biomes in one world. They're cool biomes to be sure, but I doubt the majority of the biomes I run across are supposed to be magical forests...
If I had to guess, I'd say that Azanor raised the spawning rate because of it being extremely rare with BOP installed on the forgecraft 2 server. I really have no idea though. For anyone interested in testing it out, the seed is -327550677 for anyone who's interested in testing it out.
Actually there is no simple way to increase or lower biome spawning rate. Magical forest biomes are just as common as any other biome which may be why you keep running into it. They are indeed rare on Forgecraft, but that is simply because they only have a 1 in 100 chance of being generated. Without BoP they have about a 1 in 15 or so chance.

oh hey is there a way to get more aspects than going to nodes?

And furnaces lose everything in them upon the chunk being saved and reloaded...
or is this a problem with regular forge and I just hadnt noticed it....
Nope, I don't touch anything in vanilla, furnases or otherwise.

You can make the thaumometer in a vanilla crafting bench. It does not require vis to craft.
I'll start contributing with my findings, I really needed something like this.
