im not shure if it was ctrl clicking or shift clicking. but do you have enough of the base components, to combine the aspect?
if yes, have you run out of ink? i dont know if combining aspects might take durability from the scribing tools.
yeah, i already corrected that. sorry. the iron caps make it cost 10% more.
so you would need about 27 vis of each type.
dont you have a better wand? making the matrix itself costs 40 ordo, you have to have a better one laying around, since you already managed to craft the thing.
I'll try with a full charged copper caped greatwood wand and it does not work.

I would highly recommend making a gold capped greatwood wand, as you will need it latter(Copper just won't work for some of the things you will want to do). Also, make sure there are no blocks in the 3 x 3 x 3 cube of the alter when trying to form it. It says air blocks in the book for a reason.

Darn it. I have managed to loose all of my research three times in as many days. Are there any plans to make a block or item to back up your research in the item so that when the research is lost you can just restore? Perhaps have your Thaumonomicon act as storage for all your research notes so that there is a real penalty if you loose your spellbook Thaumonomicon?

You can just copy your research notes with the copying research. Its just 3 researches that will not be saved, which are the research expertise, mastery, and copying. Then if you loose your research you can just make another copy once you redo the 3 researches and get back all your others.

Each time you do that it costs ever increasing research points for every research note. Sience it is just my research resetting and not my research points or scanned objects, I dont have the research points to copy all of my research every time I loose it.
I found a couple bugs in 4.0.3 which I didn't see in the change log:
Essentia mirrors don't drop off if the block they are placed on is destroyed
The arcane lamp isn't sufficient to light up a bore tunnel at width 11 despite being constantly fed with lux
Also I have a couple suggestions:
The thauminomicon doesn't describe anything capable of pulling essentia out of jars (I might have just missed it), could such a functionality be added possibly using the arcane bellows
A combination of runic chest piece and the thaumostatic harness would also be nice seeing as we already have this for the goggles and the boots
I have also yet to have seen a single peck so I either have very bad luck on the server or maybe a slight increase in spawn rate might be needed
These are all just suggestions but I hope you would consider, love your mod, keep up the good work
Labeled jars will pull essentia from unlabeled jars containing essentia of the same type if connected by standard essentia pipes. Example, a half-full jar of potentia essentia with a label will pull from another jar of potentia essentia if the other jar has no label on it, and the labeled jar will pull until filled.
Thaumtech like the thaumatorium will also automatically pull in essentia from jars connected by pipes and from alembics that are placed directly next to it. There's no visible connection between the alembic and the thaumatorium, but the thaumatorium seems to pull from the alembics regardless.
I've been having a lot of troubles adding thaumcraft to my game. Whenever I start my game with it and a bunch of other mods installed I get a LOT of lag. Its not the other mods, its definitely thaumcraft, because the lag only starts when I add it. In addition, when I've tried to regenerate the terrain on my server it has crashed with the following report:

Any help is appreciated. Sorry if I'm missing something obvious,
well, I guess, than you have to use commands to restore your research... type in "/tc help" to get informations about the commands, but you will have to either give you all the research or type in one command for each research you want to restore...
I could use a hint what I need to scan to unlock the bone bow research... and related to that, are hidden researches bound to scanning certain items or to scanning any items with specific aspects because if they are bound to certain items I probably will not be able to get the bow bone research as I did most of the scanning and researching on TC 4.0.5b....
You can still get it as a hidden research from 9 research fragments.
It's been suggested nearly every other page. The huge red text was also completely unnecessary.
Honestly, I don't even see the point of it anyway. With a thaumostatic harness you're most likely going to avoid combat due to having the ability to simply fly away from it. I find it to be more of a utility then a piece of protective armor anyway.

Hello, I have a sort of bug to report with the new thaumcraft 4.1g...
so you know how the old essentia tubes worked in 4.0.x versions? yeah I had a system like that before the update of course, well I had about 40 - 50 jars + tubes so as everyone here will know that no longer works, well whether it be the new pressure system, particle effects or something else entirely, I found it was causing quite a lot of lag in my SSP world, after I removed all of the tubes I noticed I finally got roughly 30fps boost.. my game normally runs around 60+fps and before I removed the tubes I was running at about 45-30fps.
(I had to make a backup, go in creative mode and start deleting everything to figure this out...)
also before anyone gets upset, yes a well built system "should" work fine but the fact that its causing so much lag ever, is a pretty big issue... I mean, like I said before, I had no idea what was even causing it until I went rambo in my place and destroyed half the stuff in it.
oh yeah and just in case someone is wondering.. my specs are an i3-4330 and a 7850, so while is not the most amazing thing ever, its more than good enough as a gaming rig.

Actually, the pipes causing lag was a known issue in 4.0.x. Basically, every [either jars or pipes, think it was pipes] in the entire network was individually checking for every type of essentia that could possibly go into the system, every tick. That's one of the reasons they were so severely nerfed in 4.1; Azanor just couldn't find a way to retain the original functionality without retaining the massive tick use as well.
You want a farm, you grab a hoe. You want a boat, you grab some wood. You want a fireplace, you grab A FLAMING HELL-BOULDER BECAUSE THAT'S HOW MINECRAFTERS ROLL!!!
Not a bug. Everything is working as intended. The tube system got a huge change in 4.1. As a general rule of thumb; only 1 essentia type per pipeline. More then 1 essentia type can use the same pipeline but things get tricky at that point. For a simple setup like you have there I recommend using a golem although you may have to move the jars closer so the golem can reach them all.
To put it another way: Golems are for simple sorting of essentia and pipes are for more complex tasks such as setting up a thaumatorium to automaticly craft alchemical items.

i have one, and it have almost killed me to not have a runic chestplate thanks to it so i totaly disagree
the goggles of revealing are different. they dont actually grant any bonuses to fight mobs and bossesl, but its kindof hard to live without them. there was no reason not to have some form of armor with the goggles integrated.
the runic boots of the traveller where already surprising.
but being able to fly is pretty huge in a bossfight, and when it comes to survival in general. having great armor on top of that might break something.
while runic armor is cooler, if you look for good protection and flight, i recommend the ichorcloth robes from thaumic tinkerer.
I was just wondering if the download link is slightly broken for anyone else?
Im on firefox using the DownThemAll! download manager and when it gets to 25% it stops with a server error.
If I use the firefox save file option it downloads but the file is only 2mb and winrar gives C:\Users\owner\Downloads\Thaumcraft4.1.0g.zip: Unexpected end of archive.
A solution or and alternate download would be nice.
Oho, looks like shift clicking works. Thanks!
i just checked again, and the thaumonomicon says its ctrl - click, but its really only working with shift - click. the entry needs to be fixed.

Not sure if they have been suggested, but since you're runeizing everything, why not Thamostatic Harnesess?
