I have known this mod for a while but I finally started to play it and maaan .. these large wizard towers. They are SOOOO COOL. I can't even tell. Will you add more of these special structures? I've never seen something like that. Traps, protection from greefing ... It blow my mind. Awesome job.
They are really hard to create, unfortunately. I did three and Tmtravlr did 3 "half-destroyed" versions.

1.8 changes the way textures are done, along with xyz -> blockpos and the whole IBlockState thing. Any mod update is going to be a huge undertaking, especially item textures for the way Artifacts does things. It's not as simple as "register 2 dozen textures" any more, it's all bass-ackwards through baked models.
I'd have to learn modding from the ground up again first.

1.8 changes the way textures are done, along with xyz -> blockpos and the whole IBlockState thing. Any mod update is going to be a huge undertaking, especially item textures for the way Artifacts does things. It's not as simple as "register 2 dozen textures" any more, it's all bass-ackwards through baked models.
I'd have to learn modding from the ground up again first.
Actually I discovered a way to set the model of an item based on the code that's really easy to do (the same way a bow does when you draw it). However, it will be rather difficult to get camouflaged blocks working, like the arrow trap, but I do think it's possible.. I'm not sure if I have the time to port the whole mod over to 1.8 though. At least not for a while.

I came across a strange bug today when I enchated a ring from your mod. In an anvil I combined a Shielding Stone Ring of Thunder with an enchanted book containing EnderIO's soulbound. Now when I am wearing the ring mobs do not drop xp, I take it off and they drop xp again. The effects of the ring if you need them: Causes lightning when used, damage resistance when inflicting damage(5 sec), and passive health boost +2.5.
Edit: An additional bit of weirdness, it only does this in the nether. Xp drops as it is suppose to in the overworld.
Is there any way to pull a random artifact item out of creative mode without it turning into a specific item?
I'd lke to use the random artifact items with CUstomNPCs but I'm unable to place one of the random generators into a CustomNPC's inventory.
If you specify just the item itself (like you would an apple or a stick) then it will show up as a blank artifact, which when observed turn into a random one.

Sorry I'm not clear what you mean. The only way I can get an item into a CustomNPC's inventory is by pulling it out of creative, opening the CustomNPCs dialog, and placing the item into the NPC's inventory.
But, as soon as I grab the item, it turns into some random artifact. I'd like to have the NPC drop the randomizer itself?

If you've got NEI, and the NEI inventory opens when the custom npc inventory is open (which I've never used custom npcs myself, so I have no clue if it does or not), you can drag the artifact item out of the NEI inventory and right into the npc's inventory without it generating. I used that myself to put it as loot in chests and such.

Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
