Hi, I think I found a small incompatibility/bug with Modular Furnaces and Factorization. I had my Modular Furnace set up, and then I placed a Factorization router and right clicked on it and I crashed. The versions I'm using are below:
Minecraft 1.6.4
Modular Furnace v10
Factorization-0.8.04beta17

Thanks.
Thanks for bringing this up. I did some look into this and it seems to me like it could be an issue on factorizations end. I think it is using the old function for inventory names and trying to run that function on my tile entites but isnt finding it. Try seeing if there is an update to that mod and I will keep looking into that. Thanks for the feedback and keep enjoying the mod
It works! You can process ore in the black furnace, which will now be called the Modular Furnace Smeltery. As of now, I will release a version soon with vanilla support. After that point I will add small mods to go with it to add mod support. These will be their own mod files to go in your mod folder and will add support for each mod. I will try to add support to all those possible. If you have any you would like to see, let me know. I plan on just doing buildcraft and industrial craft for now.
It is out! Currently just for 1.6.4 and only doubles gold, iron, and nether quartz ore. I will add more support as I go but go ahead and try it out. It is labeled v11 and available on my website from the downloads page
There's a potential exploit possibility. I haven't tested it yet, but the furnace have a block where there's a chance to double the ingot output.
Now if you have tech mods, you most likely have the capability to produce dust from the ores, like iron dust, gold dust, lead dust, copper dust, etc.
However, dust is mostly produce in the amount of >= 2 (depending on the tech mod), that is 64 iron ore gives at least 128 iron dust.
Now if you put 64 iron dust in the modular furnace there's a chance that each dust produces 2 ingots, that's the exploit here. The dust already is pre-processed to give double the amount of ingots, putting it in the furnace potential doubles it again.
If you loop that to tech machines, you can pretty much create infinite supply of metals.
Solution: dust should not be able to be affected by the modular furnace double output block. Most mods, so far, use ore dictionary to register their metal dust as dustABC.
I agree. There is a strong possibility that it can be exploited. Therefore I am going to add a check to stop that, however, the diamond block may not be in the mod much longer. I am currently working on removing that capability because it serves me purpose with the new ore smelters I added. It was put in when the mod was in its early stages and I think it is time to remove it.

Please make sure this does not get over powered.
also just so you know, 1 coal = 8 items cooked, default MC furnace cooks 8 items per 1 coal.
if you are going to speed the cooking it usually goes in increments of 8 items.
So for example:
anything above 32 items per coal (while furnace is in upgrade 3) would be over powered.
As far as the "Lamp Coal", it should degrade over time, if used as an upgrade fuel source (higher tier) above the coal source.
Lasting the lenth of 2 stacks of 64 coal.
this would prevent the furnace from being over powered with unlimited power source.
It would be fed through the furnace front end, and the furnace would auto place it in the center of the oven.
When using the "Lamp Coal" the entire 3x3x3 sized furnace graphic texture should change to the same texture as the Lamp Coal,
while its being used in the furnace. it gives it a new fresh look and also the player can view instantly that the furnace is using "Lamp Coal"
The Redstone furnace upgrade should have the entire 3x3x3 furnace strcture the same texture as the "Lamp Coal" but in Red instead of orange.
visually the player can know that the furnace is using Redstone upgrade.
And if combining Stone Bricks and Redstone and Lamp Coal,
the furnace should glow animated orange while having the stone brick and Redstone color base and borders.
again visually informing the player that it is at its last upgrade of efficiancy and speed.
These are just a few ideas I had, as I was watching the video.

Thanks for the input. I always love hearing ideas. I am fully aware of the overpower capabilities and that is why I am being very careful to keep this mod from being exploitable. It is reaching more people everyday and with the growth in popularity I must focus heavily on balancing with other mods. Before, I was making this a vanilla add on and I believe that it can still serve that purpose, however I am adding parts to make it play nice with others. For instance, the entire idea behind the smeltery was that I hated having multiple tin ores and copper ores because there is not a good 1.6.4 pack out that limits which ones can generate. Until someone like the feed the beast team can create a well oiled pack, if I want to play these new mods I have to install them myself, with multiple tin ores and all. So i wanted a way to convert them all into one ore. So the smeltery was born. And it is not done, I aim to add support to every ore that I can think of. I'm just testing the framework with three. I know I wandered a bit from your response but I wanted to talk about my mod a bit because I really do get excited when I talk about it

Very understandable if you get excited about your mod, I would too.
I forgot to mention that one part of the smeltry is a bit over powered, and here is why.
Its smelting ores into 2 ingots, but yet it has not gone through a grinder or a macerator,
as i seen someone else mention that too some where.
Making the Smeltry more modular capable would be to let players build an attachment of Grinder/Macerator
to the smeltry, and placing the ores in the macerator part or the main interface of the smeltry, the ore would then go through the macerator and then passes over to the smeltry.
It would make for a more balanced Modular Smeltery.
Then if you wanted to get even more 'Modular' let the player build another module called the Alloy Module,
where it would take the 3 copper and 1 tin and create Bronze by attaching the Alloy module to the Smeltry.
So basically thats 3 modules for the smeltry making it very modular,
By having the Smeltry and 3 Modules - Controller, Grinder/Macerator and Alloy Module.
Hope that gives you even more ideas for your mod

It will give the same output as if you are using grinding process, just in one block. I tried building one and gathering the materials took ages. So I feel it is balanced in that way. I like your ideas though
Is anybody out there good with textures? I need somebody who can handle making quality textures. I could use help here and on all my other mods if you are interested

Teaser for new furnace type
I agree. There is a strong possibility that it can be exploited. Therefore I am going to add a check to stop that, however, the diamond block may not be in the mod much longer. I am currently working on removing that capability because it serves me purpose with the new ore smelters I added. How bout super coal?
My Role-Play Characters:
-Gemma Landline
-Xavier Rideout
-Ben Jones
I may add in tiered fuels. Not sure yet though
A port to 1.6.2 and 1.5.2 will be out within the week. Hopefully

Does it happen every time?
also just so you know, 1 coal = 8 items cooked, default MC furnace cooks 8 items per 1 coal.
if you are going to speed the cooking it usually goes in increments of 8 items.
So for example:
1 coal = 08 items
1 coal = 16 items (upgrade 1)
1 coal = 24 items (upgrade 2)
1 coal = 32 items (upgrade 3)
anything above 32 items per coal (while furnace is in upgrade 3) would be over powered.
Windows 7 x64-bit SP-1 - MC v1.7.10 - Forge 10.13.4.1517 - CodeChickenCore v1.0.7.47 - NEI v1.0.5.118 - (MultiMC v5.0.4.8)
