JimTheBat - I'll look into triggering a sound effect when a backpack collects an item, but I'm not sure I'll be able to replicate the animation.
Edit: It turned out to be easier than I expected. The animation and sound effects should be fixed in the updated Backpacks 2.6.1
Great! Thanks for the fix! Seems to be working fine now. I'll let you know if anything else comes up.
I use to many items to [Save] and [Load] My Inventory.. but the backpacks does not save... where does the [Backpacks] save at so I can carry it or something
The first time a backpack is opened it is given a unique id which gets stored in the backpack's NBT tag.
If you [Save] your inventory before opening the backpack TooManyItems will save an unidentified backpack and you'll get a new backpack every time you [Load], if you [Save] after opening the backpack you should get the same backpack every time you [Load] (including all changes made to the backpack since it was 'saved').
The actual contents of the backpack are stored in saves\%world%\data\BCMod-Items.dat.
Me and my buddies found a little exploit on Multiplayer, aswell in Singleplayer. One can recover backpacks as many times as he wants. Once he makes another Backpack Recoverer he can yet again restore the same backpack.
In other words people can duplicate the backpacks for the cost of a backpack recovererer.
Could you fix that so once the backpack has been recovered it can't be recovered again untill the backpack gets lost/burned again? Or atleast make an option to disable the recovererer.
On the other hand, thanks, my people love it and so do I.

Shareable - You can share your backpacks with other players
You can give quantum backpacks (or copied backpacks) to other players to allow them to use your backpack.
Any changes made to a backpack by one player will be updated in all other players using that backpack, allowing players to share or exchange items no matter how far away they are (or what dimension they are in).
You can also duplicate a backpack with just an Eye of Ender, saving a bunch of gold ingots.
Using an Eye of Ender on a placed backpack will duplicate the backpack, allowing them to be used like portable Ender Chests (If you need more than 3 copies of a backpack it may be cheaper to invest in a Quantum Chest).
Since this is an intended feature (and there isn't any way to tell if a backpack has been destroyed or not) I won't be 'fixing' it, but you can disable backpack duplication by deleting the Backpack Recoverer's recipe using BCMod's recipe editor (CTRL+R from a backpack interface (must be opped)) and by setting 'ender_eyes_can_duplicate_backpacks' to false in config\backpacks16840.cfg.
i absolutely love this mod. i had another mod that included an enchest pack and crafting bench pack but i would take this mod over that one any day <3 thank you for making this AWESOME mod
huh looks like i posted already opps well still its awesome
There is a problem when I am using your mod. In options under controls the list of options are half off the screen. I've tested it with only your mod installed. When removed everything goes back to normal. Using 1.7.10 2.6 for MC 1.7.10

it does that with mine too but im using 1.7.2 tho i thought it was just another mod and was being lazy to bring it to attention lol
First, just a thanks for this mod - I prefer it even over forestry's, which used to be my favorite.
Having updated all my mods to 1.7.10, I'm getting a crash when I try to customize backpacks. It'll happen part way through typing a word into the filter, and I can't tell if it's caused by your mod, forestry or both.

I also noticed you've got a new version mentioned in the change log, but I can't find a link to it. Still just a link to the previous version. I often miss the obvious though, so it may just be something I've overlooked. Thanks again!

That would be a problem with Forge or Minecraft not accommodating for longer key names, I've updated BCMod to shorten the name of its key.

I've added some more error handling to BCMod 2.6.3 which should stop that crash.
The changes made in version 2.6.2 and 2.6.3 only affected BCMod, so 2.6.1 is still the latest version of Backpacks.
Liking this backpack mod over some of the others I've tried.
However I have run into a stumbling block, when using the pouches the back pack would increase 1 size etc in mc 1.6.4, this no longer seems to be working for me in mc 1.7.10, although i have edited the config like so
# How many rows of storage a backpack with X pouches will have
I:backpack_heights <
3
3
3
4
5
6
>
# How many columns of storage a backpack with X pouches will have
I:backpack_widths <
9
9
12
12
15
15
>
And after pasting that in, I just realized I'm not changing the size of the bag after the first pouch is used according to these settings (must have been tired).....
But I tried using 5 pouches (in creative), and the successive upgrades still did not happen, all with these settings.
The upgrading mechanics are based on the backpacks current size rather than how many times its been upgraded, so with your configuration a 3x9 backpack will always be considered unupgraded, If you remove the extra 3x9 upgrade from the config file it should work.
I hate to say this, but I'm getting a corrupted file when I try to download the Backpack mod. It downloads fast, but gives me the "Invalid or Corrupted File" bit. BCmod works, but not the Backpacks.

It works fine for me.
When are you getting the "Invalid or Corrupted File" message, because it sounds like you're trying to 'run' the mod files rather than letting Forge 'load' them.
Great! Thanks for the fix! Seems to be working fine now. I'll let you know if anything else comes up.
Thank you VERY much!! This mod is a must-have for me.
something is wrong with drop box, I can not download anything, I just get an error
