i just installed this mod and its awesome! breaking grass is fun now, i gata say its really OP in its out of the box form tho. it seems like the mod just randomly selects items from ANY of my installed mods which means i can accidentally get some really really powerful stuff just by breaking glass. how do i add items to the "banned" list, i assume thats the list of items i cant get? im using the 1.8 version. i dont know how to configure files so keep it simple plz

First of all, check if you have the latest version of this mod (if not, update). Then regenerate the configuration by removing the magicclover.cfg file from config folder in your .minecraft location.
There's also a user friendly configuration menu available. You can open it by going to Main Menu -> Mods -> Magic Clover (in the list) -> Config button.

thats odd i just threw it in my 1.8 mods folder without changing a thing and it instantly gave me mod items
hey could you help me learn how to add items to the rare item list?
1. first off do items on this list get autmoatically removed from the "common" item list? like i dont need to add them here and then remove them from the other list right?
2. and it says it supports item names or block ID....but how do i learn the block id or item name? im trying to add a few valuable items from mods to the rare item list so lets say the item was named "helmet of destruction" and it was from the rock candy mod, would it be "rockcandy:helmet_of_destruction"
3. will the list instantly accept errored names or will it inform me i messed up and then not take the item name that does not lead anywhere
so i have this mod called abyssal craft and i want to ban it from dropping any items through clovers, but i dont know what to enter under the item banned mods tab
Enable advanced item tooltips by pressing F3+H ingame (no inventory on the screen).
Hover over any item from the mod you mentioned in your inventory. Tooltip at the bottom should show internal name of this item.
Now add abbyssalcraft:* to banned items section in config file (the star means all items).
Maybe you should delete your old config file and let it regenerate. Newer versions of the mod should blacklist items from mods by default.
I know that configuration can currently not work very well, but I'm trying to come up with a better system.
thanks, by default tho i really like mod items working since 99% of the time i do want mod items. its just that some very large RPG mods have a chance of giving me super OP equipment from grass and thats not cool

so i changed the drop rate from 6 to 1 to make it more balanced, is there any way to make it lower? i noticed i cant use decimals

Default configuration allows vanilla items only to drop from clover and bans any vanilla items that might crash your game.
There's nothing I can do about technical block drops from mods. Your suggested icon check is impossible because it's client sided.
Edit config at your own risk.
