Yeah, the structures do contain a torch but you can only really see them from a very shallow angle. Once I knew what I was looking for I found three in places I'd already explored, so I would definitely recommend re-exploring. The buried ones are easy to find on the ocean floor, especially with night vision - though if you have Railcraft installed, it's much harder as the abyssal stone geodes look almost the same.
How rare are they? I spent a good couple hours diving into those geodes to get diamond and emerald ores, and never ran into one.
Buried Hollows are pretty common. If you're walking on the surface just listen for crystal sounds ("dink"). There's always one, so if you hear more ignore it. 1/5 times it'll be a hollow, the other times it'll be cave. Doesn't hurt to try though. They don't show lit up on your map, but they are lit up from certain viewing angles.

ah, maybe that's what I've been doing wrong, I've been searching from high in the air. Weird that I wouldn't see the light from straight above, but I've had cases where lights have bugged out on me before...

reason you dont see the light is that the "entrance" is about 3 blocks to the side and about 4 blocks above the torch then it's in a ditch so you wont really see it from afar

Nah, most of my jet fuel's being saved for my base at the moment (just about everything runs on microturbines at the moment...) Besides, my ethanol production was something like the third thing I set up in my base, and now it's not used for much else (originally my extractor ran on four gas engines, but now, microturbine.)
My computer's kinda crap so jet fuel tends to make me zip around too fast for the world to load anyway.

I didn't have any trouble hovering with jet fuel I don't think... You just hold sneak and jump just like with ethanol. Hell, hovering was actually the one thing jet fuel really helps with since you can move around horizontally at a decent pace while hovering. Now, trying to just go 10 blocks higher to get to the next floor of your base, without rocketing into the stratosphere, while you're lagging for some reason or another, -that's- tough
Okay so I don't seem to be able to power my casting complex properly. I built a chain of repeaters from the nearest pylon to it (which took quite a while since it's at the top of a tower - can repeaters be oriented sideways?) but it doesn't drain any power. I also tried using a creative pylon right next to it, but that did nothing as well. What might I be doing wrong in both cases?

That's what experimental creative worlds are for, no? Heck, I designed a cute little 12-core HTGR in creative that I'm working on getting the resources to build in my main survival world. Actually I think I could build it right now, but there's nothing really for it to power... need to start building an LN2 plant, some magnetostatics, and figuring out how electricraft works to distribute that power.... Right after I finish building my casting room so I can progress in chromaticraft and start decoding all these blank info fragments I now have after discovering a second ocean temple.... right after I finally get the 'painful loss' progression to see if that helps with that...
I've somehow gone from nothing to do to too damn many things to do in the span of like a half hour. Weird how that happens.
I'm not sure if this has been asked already or something similar, and I couldn't find anything in the FAQ or similar, but will you ever put your mods on curse forge? I'm only asking this because with the new curse voice minecraft addons, it makes it much easier to update, and seeing as how you seem to have an update out every frigging day, it would make my life and certainly other peoples lives just that bit simpler. Thanks
I've... never -seen- a structure like that, but I wasn't looking for one, I was looking for lights like the book seemed to hint at...
...
I have to re-comb something like 20,000 square meters of exploration again now, don't I.

I just spent 5 minutes typing out a guide and then it randomly deleted my text. I fricken hate these forums. I'm too sad to retype it right now.

Ocean Temples unlock Fluid Essence. I haven't used one of those yet so.. I wouldn't worry too much about those.

Pah. Who needs cheats when you have a jetpack.
With Jet Fuel? -shudder-
Your world is not corrupt. Do not make baseless accusations.

Jet Fuel also makes you zip around too quickly to do pretty much anything. Hovering is out of the question :S

and thank you, everyone, for the help. I feel a right fool for not trying a closer ground search a lot sooner.

One of these days I'll discover the joy of ReC.
