Reika, what are your thoughts on splitting this thread into one for your tech mods, one for Chromacraft, and one for other stuff like Geostrata?
Chromacraft seems to be a huge topic in its own right, and having Chromacraft and RoC/ReC/Electricraft in the same thread is like having Thaumcraft and EnderIO sharing a thread. Lots of traffic, and if one is sticking to either a tech-themed modpack or a magic-themed modpack, about half the posts are irrelevant.
How do I get the Ball Lightning unlock? I've been hanging out near pylons and had several pass through me to no effect. Could it require not unlocking something else yet?

He said Pylons. There's the balls of lightning that spawn from pylons which are the same color as the pylon and deal damage, or the kind you find in rainbow forests that are annoying and upon touching you just die.

Thing is, often the
issues are intertwined - such as DragonAPI codebase issues - and then
more general discussion not tied to a mod - like modpack policies -
would have nowhere to go.
I can put my mouse to the right of it, and wait for it to reach my mouse.
Then, when I control-click, I just get a menu :-)
(Macs; control-click = menu click).

Reika, can we get a config option for finite water worlds, to only look at the height the water falls onto a hydro engine, instead of requiring a water source block up there? I am explicitly thinking of a "dam" type build, where water flow is turned on (and the lake empties as it goes).
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?

This is not necessarily tied to finite water, but I am not against the idea of a dam build. That said, I fear this may be exploitable.

Personally I avoid using HydroKinetics as they stand now because with infinite water it already feels like an exploit to me, even with the "steep" cost of materials that is more time consuming than of rare materials (but materials makes sense as it is).
Are Crystal blooms not fully implemented yet? When I rt-click the plant, the bloom disappears, but I get nothing. If I break the plant, I just get seeds. From the lexicon entry, it talks like I should be getting shards from them.

1:50 chance for blooms to drop shards. IMO not really worth it. I had farms for every color and still only made a few shards. In the time it takes to grow you could easily find more. And after you get silk touch pickaxe don't bother, you'll have tons of shards from grinding crystals.
Hi
Reika - there doesn't seem to be any way to detect the state of a
centrifuge - i.e. slapping a comparator on it doesn't work the same way
it does with, say, the grinder. Not sure if that's intentional - or am I
missing some other obvious way to detect its state?
It probably needs a block update.

After completing information entries (like finding hollows, trees, temples, etc) they become visible in the world.
So let me guess, I need to find an ocean temple to unlock one of the types. Time to spend another ten hours flying around...
Also a few issues and a suggestion. The Casting Table, Crystal Repeater, and Multi-Aura Repeater names don't show up under the structure # tabs, instead showing up as "" and "crystal.pylon" respectively. Since it's hard to find specific items in the lexicon, it would also be useful if clicking on an item took you to the relevant entry in the book.
For the Reika fans in all of us, my modpack, Revolution, has just been released on the ATLauncher. This pack revolves around Reika's suite of wonderful mods: RotaryCraft, ReactorCraft, ElectriCraft, ChromatiCraft (plus many of his other mods). Testers have been really enjoying the pack and I hope all of you will too. Pack information, as well as the pack code, can be found here. You can also read more about it on the ATLauncher.

I'm sorry if I'm whining but... are information fragments supposed to be ridiculously rare? My setup is I'll leave a stack of ore in my extractor and then go jetpacking around and dungeon plungin' while it processes. I've been doing this for close to 8 hours now. I've broken into tons of dungeons and abandoned mine shafts, but maybe found all of 2 info fragments in there. I found a singular ocean temple, and that brought me up to the point where I can make crystal lamps (when in the rest of my game I think I have the infrastructure to start playing with reactorcraft...)
I've never found a -single- buried hollow. Every anomalous light I see proves to be either a Forrestry hive or a potion crystal hanging out of a cave or a patch of fluorite or something. I check every crevasse, explore every promising looking cave, and nothing...
I know that info fragment farming from sentient mobs was taken out for being too easy, but this just feels too far in the other direction. It doesn't hold you back with difficulty of design or planning like rotary/reactorcraft, it's just a solid wall of flying around staring at the ground and looking for something. It's not fun.

Get a dust.Touch a lightning ball (From Rainbow biomes)

Did you discover pylons before discovering all colors?
But it doesn't work!

I read the archive of stupid posts (Your wall of shame) you put there.
I wish I had some popcorn to go along with it, because it was really funny.
Some of those posts were worthy of a quadruple facepalm.

Ah, this makes sense, thanks for the advice!
mad I believe the blooms are for you to autofarm, cos I completely agree there is no point to manual farm them
How do I get the various dusts? So far I've only found infused, aura, and transmissive.
Forge version?
