What is the CPU load of this mod like? You mentioned a few days ago that everything has to be recalculated every tick as there is no way to abstract it over time.

If your computer can manage to run Minecraft, the CPU load should not be an issue. If you somehow have a computer that balks at basic arithmetic, then you may have an issue. That is to say, you will only have CPU issues if your computer is the equivalent of one of those types of students whose brain melts as soon as they have to rearrange an equation.

GPU tends to be more of a limiting factor than the CPU, as the MC rendering engine was never designed for models like mine.

I have been looking for something that replaces the infinite lava mod. But n one the less excellent mods plus I can't wait for the in development ones.

What if I just break the block, and instead of putting it deep underground, I just let it despawn?

And ... sicken mobs? Can this be used to help make a mob killing system? (Or does it make zombies/skeletons stronger ...)

As in real life, shorter half-lives mean faster decay but more intense radiation while doing so. So Sr-90 and Cs-137 are especially dangerous in both real life and in ReactorCraft, as they are intensely dangerous while still fairly long lived (over a week of solid gameplay).

And yes, some of them are effectively permanent.

I know the Bush years were rough but seriously the loud minority that doesnt believe in science is losing power. The Tea party is at an all time unpopular level as well as the republican party. Science is gaining and people arent as conservative anymore. Look at all the states allowing gay marriage now. Its slow but things are improving. We just need more science at the federal level.

When I use texture packs like faithful 32x32 rotary craft and reactor craft items and blocks all have a purple back ground and words saying Missing Texture Why is that???

The items never despawn, nor can they be killed. Dropping them into the void does not work either (they hover at y=0).
It could be used to make a mob killing system, but radiation poisoning is a slow death.

Are you sure you have everything installed correctly? It is NPEing on trying to find an Extractor Ore Dust for one of the entries in the Mod Ore List.

Not as of now, no. Depending on the realism levels of those mods' suits, I might be willing to add it. (Also, a suit is only rated up to a certain intensity. Take a 500MBq suit into a 20GBq area, and, well...

Are you sure you have everything installed correctly? It is NPEing on trying to find an Extractor Ore Dust for one of the entries in the Mod Ore List.

Following up on my stack overflow issue the other day, I decided to make a second attempt at setting up 256 Pneumatics to power an extractor, here's what I discovered:

While it is technically possible to do so, the load on the server is so onerous that a person either needs an extremely beefy server or needs to be playing solo with few if any other mods using resources (system resources that is).

Its not so much the pneumatics that are the issue as it is the 256+ shaft junctions. It seems that even just having them placed down in a chain induces server loads like no bodies business.

The setup I was using was
32 Shaft Junctions, 1 bevel, 2 shaft junctions, 1 bevel, 32 shaft junktions.. so on and so forth, with each shaft junction having a pnuematic pumping into it. In this way I created a zig zag connecting them all.

Once I was done just laying them out, the server was already choking to death.. I then set about turning them on...this is when the things became virtually unplayable. I only managed to turn on about 90 of them before frame rates dropped to about 5 fps and the server was refusing to stop telling me the system time changed.. lol.

Anyway, if anyone is interested in seeing it..

Skip to about minute 14 to see when the server hits its limit (though I guess I could have suffered through and turned on a few more)

I am not surprised that pushing it to that kind of limit induces this sort of effect.
