I am using highlands, but even if I use default world type it still doesn't spawn any. And I did change the distance to quite close and still nothing.
So I have tested the mods together, and the only time I haven't had shipwrecks generate is using the custom Highlands generation. However, you can get them to generate in the ocean biome by setting Improved Oceans Generate to false or set Highlands biomes in Default worlds to true in the Highlands config.
Also, try deleting the shipwreck mod config file, I've had to change it a couple times so it may cause some issues if you have used more than one mod version.
If all that fails, could you send me a full mod list, including the version of forge you are using?
This is good, but the best thing right now is not on the vote list above; is adding custom diaries (the books you find in the large ships) made by other people so you don't find the same books with same titles and stories in different ships, because in 2/3 big ships i found the same diary entry. It would be nice, and it would have a bit of curiosity to it. I haven't seen any pirate coves in any of the other dungeosn generation mods, a player might say, "so a ship with a diary that mentions a cove, there must be a cove nearby!" (if that works)
underwater caves where piranhias and sharks could spawn
underwater ruins, remains of maybe crashed planes, etc, underwater temples, shrines, maybe a crater or a volcanic area
of course more ships/ maybe a cruise liner or a freight ship
sharks
pirates
underwater villages
pirate villages on islands
pirate outposts
coastal towns
these are just some ideas that i could think of. id love to see what you do with the mod, so far its great! keep up the good work.

Some good ideas there, but some of them are from BD. (BetterDungeons) For the volcanic area, It's better to put underwater geysers and those type of terrain, because i have never seen that in a mod before. For the other ships to be added, they could be user-made designs, to save more time.

It still would be cool to see are own new styles for this mod, to me it doesn't matter if its in other mods, I just think it would be unique if this mod had its own structures etc.but yea i do like the idea of geysers and user made ships.
even more ideas
-beach docks
-lighthouses
-oil rig ruins under the sea
-underwater geysers
-schooling fish
- more coastal terrain
beaches,reefs,sand bars,bays,estuaries
these new features would make exploring alot more fun along the coast
there could also be lots of things to find in more unique coastal terrain types
-buoys
-underwater dead zones( areas that no life can exist) (radioactive area) maybe from a nuke test sight????

Yeah, the captain's logs have taken a back seat to other features that I am adding. Unfortunately, your idea of adding directions that appear in the logs, leading you to a new area (while very cool) would require a lot more coding to make it work (and probably increase the stress on the CPU by quite a bit if I wanted to make it look good). Just not sure I will have the time to put something like this in.

Seems like it! Definitely some good ideas in there. I probably won't do anything that is too "high tech". The most advanced piece of technology I would be likely to put in is a steamboat (so probably not the dead zones or planes). Craftsmanthe brought up a good point with the underwater geysers (I'm guessing more along the lines of hydrothermal vents); I will have to keep those in mind. I'm also trying to focus more on things that aren't already covered by other mods and have only really added those when it was really necessary to actually enjoy the mod (for example the diving suit to actually be able to explore underwater or the piranhas to add a bit of danger).
Glad you are enjoying the mod, I hope I can continue to improve it and add to it!

Would you consider
-docks
-beach towns
-pirate islands
-maybe differn beach varations
-light houses
-sea oil rigs
-bouys
-of course more shipwrecks
-new mobs
-maybe some underwater plants/corals,seaweed,barnacles etc
-maybe if you are up to it your own coastal terrain generator, but idk thats up to you to tackle
-beach villages
etc hope you will consider, Again great work, keep it coming.
Good little mod, but it needs more complexity and variety in its shipwreck designs. The rowboat shipwreck in particular is too simple to be interesting.

I agree that more ships are needed, though it is a huge amount of work to prepare and code the larger shipwrecks. The rowboat was actually a test ship I made so I could figure out how spawning structures in minecraft worked and I decided to leave them in as something without any value that you see from time to time (if you don't like them, you can always disable them in the config). However, the larger shipwrecks are thousands of lines of code and I unfortunately do not have as much time on my hands as I used to so the larger updates will be coming far slower than they were at the beginning.
Hi,Can you consider reworking the beach system based on the attacthments, like adding, as well as adding more ships and please keep the thought of underwater ruins, geysers and maybe flooded villages or something, maybe even a coastal village or something, I think it would be cool to go down the terrain and mob category for the mod, it will certainty make minecrafts oceans as realistic as possible, hope you like and will consider
In regards to your poll, I actually like that there's gravel and dirt and stuff inside the wrecks. I actually thought it was "on purpose", to simulate how they'd been there for a while, and the tides had washed silt in through the cracks. After all, real shipwrecks aren't nice and neat and easy to explore.
hello guys i am making a modpack and installed this mod
there is one thing i cant vind the ships (i have also bioms o planty installed)
can someone help me? pls
srry about my bad english
i am from holland / netherlands
Your best bet is to try to find ocean type biomes to look in. I don't think I found any shipwrecks in rivers or lakes, but I know I found quite a few in the ocean.
Unfortunately, I decided to uninstall this mod (and just about every other mod that adds structures to the game), as I decided I'd have more fun building my own ships than finding a wreckage of one.

As ShadeDaystar said, check the vanilla oceans and beaches. The shipwrecks are pretty rare by default (as the rewards from them are pretty large, particularly the larger ships). I have tested both mods together and the wrecks spawn with BoP installed.
If you are having trouble finding wrecks, you can check whether or not they are spawning by going to the config and setting the rarity of a ship to 1 (you can also decrease the distance between wrecks). With that you should see quite quickly if there are wrecks spawning on beaches or in oceans (currently oceans, beaches, frozen oceans, deep oceans, and cold beaches are the only biomes these will spawn in)

Sorry to see you go! But I know the feeling. Good luck!
One of my favorite things about 1.8 is the new Ocean Monument. It's Mojang's first step toward actual underwater content (that I hope they continue working on in 1.9).
Have you had any thoughts about incorporating any of the new ocean blocks or items into your ship designs? Maybe a smuggling ship that's filled with prismarine shards or crystals. Possibly ass a Sea Lantern on the prow of the largest ship. Or maybe there's a way to make guardians spawn around some of the shipwrecks that contain treasure.
I look forward to see what you might be adding to your 1.8 update!

I haven't actually been planning on things to add with 1.8 yet since it's probably going to take a long time for forge to update. I have been working on a new some new structures though so I might have my first update that actually adds content by the time 1.8 is out! I definitely will use the new blocks in my build when I get access to them though.
1.7.10 version looks to be working just fine. Seen quite a few wrecks on multiple worlds, with HIGHLANDS, EBXL and BOP installed. Though I take it the wrecks are only spawning on the vanilla areas of seas and beaches?
They are only in vanilla areas. I've looked into adding support for other mods a bit, but I don't have nearly as much free time as I did when I first started working on the mod so it's a bit slow going. Hopefully I will have something to show for it by the time forge rolls out for 1.8 though.
I love the look of this mod. Can anyone clarify if it works with 1.7.10, or is 1.7.2 the highest compatible version of Minecraft? If I use an existing save, will the content generate in chunks I haven't visited yet?

It does, though shipwrecks will only spawn in Vanilla biomes, not in BoP biomes.

Definitely! The development may have slowed down, but it has not ceased completely.
