If it's freazing you up then it means your system isn't strong enough to handle them. Mine just barley holds it together so I use them only for screen shots, running at a nice 1-5fps.
It takes a bit of a beefy system to be able to use shaders.
1-5fps? That's really low, since you had the issue with the black world to, I guess you're running an Intel card?
Maybe the upcoming version will run a little better, I tried to solve most of the fps issues and optimize it a bit more.

My intel card breaks 40 Fps on the shader mod, this is the best shaderpack for intel cards, nuff said, i havent found one shaderpack that runs anywhere close to these shaderpacks, just wait for more driver updates, these shaders are optimized as possible, no other shaders run this well on my pc

what how is that even possible?
Amd Phenom II x4 3.4 ghz

that is fairly decent, and ik thats enough to run the shader mod becuase i ran SEUS a while back
Hello, I love the shader pack! The only thing is I can't really play it. I have this weird glitch night and day, so when I look a certain angle my screen goes all white with light. It's really annoying and would like to know if its part of the pack and how to fix it. ( By the way I'm on a mac.)

You could try to disable lens flare, it's stored in final.fsh, check the main post to find out how to enable/disable effects. Or you could wait for my upcoming release, maybe it fixes your problem

Sildur, I disabled lens flare and that removed the blinding white light (flare), but I am still having a problem when I look at a certain angle, most blocks look BLACK, except for water and whatever water is touching.
It's like day:
and night:
I have an nvidia GeForce GT 750M
Sildur, nevermind, I read previous posts and changed line 11 and 207 of gbuffers_terrain.vsh and it works perfectly now!
Great work!!
Yupp was just about to write that again, this will be fixed in my next release along with some other bugfixes and optimations.
PS: My shaders works kinda with the 1.7.2 preview, only the water reflections are broken, I think because specular is not working yet.
There's an optional crossprocess effect in final.fsh disable the current one in it and activate the new one...In the main post you can find out how to activate/deactivate effects
Will you kind of fix it for all amd because it makes crash my screen every time I try to play with it...
I realy realy like but I can't play with your shaders...not compatible...

Sildur, could you make your shader pack be compatible on Linux? I'm confident that my computer can handle this shaders.
Like what I said Here, I have a GPU that supports the 1.7 shaders with just a slight lagg (because AMD are suckers and put a limit on laptop graphics of 60fps or 30fps in games so when the it is rendering advanced stuff it will crank down the fps limit to 30fps so the game is laggy. And that is also why i dont play in fullscreen cause it cranks down the fps limit to 30 as well.) plus I have a friend who has a beastly laptop ($1000) and he run shaders at max 60fps (also AMD Graphics) so I wanted it too! I had an old laptop which has an Intel x3100 that does not even support OpenGL 2.1. After a few weeks my Father got a new computer but he wont let me use it. I'm using his old computer and its pretty decent. He was using VISTA!!! Nobody uses Vista (Except for my Dad) so I upgraded it to Win 7. At first sight I saw Aero Not working so I went online to find my Graphics Drivers. Till thus day I still had no luck so I had to switch to Linux (Ubuntu 13.10). Ubuntu was nice and I got the sound working so I tweaked Ubuntu (alot) and I turned out that I like to use Ubuntu but now I really want to use this shaders!

they do work with linux, all shaderpacks do, i had sildurs shaders running on a chromebook with an intel gma hd, with 15 fps, it was terrible, but it worked, do me a favor and install mesa and update your amd graphics drivers, amd does not lock their cards to a certain fps, no cards do, i can tell your a begginer to linux, but you have to start somewhere, press ctrl + alt + t to open terminal and paste this
sudo apt-get install libglu1-mesa-dev freeglut3-dev mesa-common-dev that should fix your problems and update your amd drivers automaically and add better support for openGL, hope it helped!

Btw, an AMD x2300 sounds pretty old. Maybe it's the lack of proper OpenGL support? I have an AMD radeon 7970, and I don't see much locking there. Even voltages are unlocked (people don't mess with it unless they want extreme overclocking or whatever). Uh, follow the post above and see if it works. OpenGL 3/3.1 were made in 2007/2008, so this rules out some features (but I'm not sure if Sildur's shaders use these features).
Minecraft doesn't crash. The display drivers stop responding and Minecraft turns into a white screen. Still no light on the issues because nobody wants to bother.

thx
Crash report?
All the blocks just jump around and disappear and reappear simultaneously... its really trippy

Have you seen this error on other packs?
Edit:
If your mac has intel graphics, you can't solve anything.
If you have Nvidia graphics, you need to get custom drivers instead of Apple's suckish ones.
No, only on Sildurs shaders since pre7.
I now updated java to the latest version and this problem seems to be gone.
