This mod was originally called "Warp for Single Player", but with the implementation of support for SSP/SMP/LAN, it obviously isn't for only for single player anymore. So it has been renamed to "The Warp Mod".
Have you ever played Minecraft on a bukkit server that allowed you to warp (teleport) to saved locations? Ever wanted this for Forge under SSP/SMP/LAN? Well now you can!
This mod allows you to move around the Minecraft world with relative ease, but dont go crazy! Do you think that moving that fast wouldnt hurt? Think again. Use the warp commands wisely!
I also placed this project on curseforge. A detailed explanation of the commands can be found here.
Cost Per Warp (CPW) System:
When I created this Mod originally, I did not want it to be considered a cheat, so I came up with a solution starting with version 1.0.1, that would penalize you for using the warp command. I call it the Cost per Warp system.
Currently this system afflicts damage to the player's life (hearts) based on the game difficulty.
Peaceful / Easy = .25 heart
Normal = .5 heart
Hard = 1 heart

Instructions:
1. Download File
2. Copy to the mods folder under the .minecraft folder (Remove the previous version).
3. Enjoy the game!
* Added: Potion effects are triggered when /warp deathpoint is used.
* Fire Resistance: Provides a few seconds of immunity if you die by fire or lava
* Damage Resistance: Provides a few seconds of damage resistance if you die by mobs or projectiles
* Fixed: Seems the XP failure factor leaked into the code in certain places (it has been removed)
* Fixed: /warp back command bugs
* Fixed: Minor bug fixes
Development Blog:
I have put together a blog to record the development of the Mod. Some interesting tidbits are presented here. Check it out!
FOUND A PROBLEM?
To keep things organized, please use the ticket system found on curseforge for my project.
TO DO:
* Allow the 'delwarp' command to delete multiple warp
* Add some color coding to identify private/public/shared warps
Future Considerations (Work in Progress):
I do not want my Mod to be considered a cheat so I implemented the first attempt of a cost per warp engine. At the time, it does damage to your life, but I think that there are other possibilities.
Suggestion / Feedback
I would love to hear your feedback!

MrrGingerNinja put together an awesome tutorial for those beginning to mod. It is very thorough and I was able to use a lot of it to get where I needed.
Version 1.0.1 Released:
* Added: /warp home command (takes you to your bed location).
* Added: warp saves with dimension (warp between overworld and nether!)
* Added: warp now costs life. See details above.
* Fixed: mcmod.info was not loading properly
* Fixed: minor bug fixes
I have to admit I don't often play in survival mode just because I like to build things without having to worry about being hit in the back. However the idea of loosing XP sounds like something that would turn me away from wanting to use this mod. Perhaps as an alternative you could implement some crafting.
Craft a warp proton (or something like that) and one proton is used per warp. Perhaps you can even make different quality of protons available and the lower quality, cheaper ones have a higher failure rate mixed with a higher chance of pulling mobs/item along. Then, if to many mobs/items are pulled along it can cause other effects like instant death or turn the player into a zombie.
Also,it seems an effect might take place after the warp, like motion sickness. The sickness could last different amounts according to how much health was lost.
Anyway, this seems promising, good luck and keep up the great work!

these are awesome ideas. I understand where you come from as it relates to XP. A suggestion I received was to factor in XP into the failure rate. The lower the XP the higher the probability of warp failure. You would not lose XP, but it is a factor.
I like the motion sickness idea after a warp.
I am leaning toward crafting an object and these are great ideas to consider.

@Paul. I currently do not have access to a server running forge to test this Mod against, but it was intended for Single Player. Under Single Player the Mod works without incident.
I can create a version without sound for the server, but it will take a few days. I am currently busy with work projects.
What to expect in version 1.0.4:
Currently the mod allows players to set warps as private and public. With the next release, players will be able to share a warp with an individual player or a list of players.
Ability to bring along the entity you are riding when you warp. Please note that the entity will sustain damage.
A Request: I am NOT video savvy, but would really like to have one done of my Mod, if anyone would be willing to help with this, please let me know. Thanks!
Version 1.0.4 Released: * Added: /warp back will return you to your previous warp location. * Added: the entity you are riding will now warp with you * Added: ability to share a warp with an individual or group of individuals * Added: set commands using public/private/shared instead of true/false [See detail here] * Added: The Pitch and Yaw are now saved as part of the warp * Fixed: Many bug fixes
