Just uploaded the MC 1.6 version with the new MJ storage blocks, called 'Capacitor Banks'. They are crafted by filling the crafting grid with basic capacitors. They will work standalone, or will form a multiblock with all adjacent blocks of the same type. I have put in any limits on size or shape.
Each block can hold 250,000 MJ, and can input./ouput a max of 100 MJ/t. These values stack as you combine them into a multiblock, i.e. a 3 block storage unit will hold 750,000 MJ and have a max IO of 200 MJ/t.
Enabling / disabling of input and output can be controlled separately via redstone signals. I have including any way to limit the input or output rate at the moment. Let me know if you think this is required, I personally never used it with TE storage.
I am also keen to get some feedback on the 'balance' of the new block. I used TE storage as a rough guide to resource cost but I am not too sure if it has an appropriate cost for its capabilities at the moment. I will hopefully get a 1.5 version up in the next day or two.
Also, thanks to KEGARR for the shiny new YETA wrench texture (yeah yeah, I know, yet another wrench... you might not have any other mods installed, honest!) . I will be including more of his work in future releases.
Ok, memory is not so good. I forgot I abstracted away most the BC API changes when I did the initial port to 1.5.
Well played me doing things properly the first time around! So unlike me ; ) lol
The 1.5.2 version is now uploaded. Same changes as 1.6.
Thanks for the constant updates and the much appreciated addition of a multiblock MJ storage mechanic. I feel the recipes are very well balanced and the additions are very cool. The limiting of the output/input is slightly unnecessary due to power transfer mechanics universally having changed... It would be nice to have a NEI plugin for the alloy furnace (I understand the difficulty in this). It would be nice for an inverted version of the light, although this may be something you specifically wish to stay away from. Forge multipart integration would still be nice. Is the crafting recipe for the wrench part of the alloy furnace? (sorry if I overlooked this somewhere). I greatly appreciate all of the hard work that has gone into this, and hope that you continue to find reward in this work and time to dedicate to it.
Bug report-
Using the Facades cause insane lag. 40+ Dips in FPS for me.
From 50/60 to 10.
Are you still seeing this? It has stumped me. It seems to only be effecting you and I can't even guess at what could be causing it. As I have send, when a facade is attached it is using the standard vanilla rendering routines. Have you made sure that you have the latest driver for your vid card? It is amazing how often that can fixed things like this.
suggestions: allow the electric lights to except EU or make it a config, make the texture for active gold/iron have spots of red or even a sight red hue, ender maybe purple?
EU support will be added in the future. I might wait to see what happens with the IC2 development that is going on in their experimental branch. It looks liek some significant changes could be appearing soon.
As for the textures on the alloys, I actually tried to do this but I couldn't get it to look any good. Feel free to modify them and submit the changes : )
I can patch the crash pretty easily but I can't figure out how you would have made this happen. Can you reproduce the crash? I would prefer to understand and fix the root cause of the issue rather than apply a quick band aid.
If you can give me steps to reproduce it it will be fixed properly.
Just trying to decide this now. I will either work on the 'ender' side of the conduits (kind of my own take on wireless redstone / tesseracts) or start work on an entirely knew mechanic I have planned for the mode, starting with a couple of simple items. I am probably favouring the second option ATM as the first stuff is just a new take on existing ideas, while the second set of work (I think) is relatively unique. Not ground breaking by any means, but should be fun and just a little differnent.
The item conduits seems to be sitting constantly in number 2 spot on the list : )
If I have missed any questions, please feel free to ask again. I think I found all the posts I haddened got to but I may well have missed some.
Just uploaded a very iffy video showing the basics of how things work. Yes its dodgy, yes a proper spotlight should hopefully appear soon. Be kind, video making is not my thing : )
Is the crafting recipe for the wrench part of the alloy furnace? (sorry if I overlooked this somewhere).
Doh, I just checked and the recipe seems to have vanished. it will reappear in the next release. It doesn't do anything differently to the buildcraft wrench, forestry wrench or railcraft crowbar, all of which work with Ender IO.
I was using the newest BuildCraft. And I downGraded thinking it was a Bug with the BC version and Poof Happened twice on Reload of the world. As soon as i added the new BC back it worked. Might have been something to do with Fluid still being in the Pipes on world reload, Old version fluids that is. And or It was stuck in the Refinery that was changed in that Update.
Still Halving my Fps. 100/50
When i make the Thing that makes the facades. the one surronded by Industrial binder, It pops up as the Painted Utility for Rendering, Don't use, Conduit Facade Not the one you have on your Thing you just posted.
And yes newest Drivers. Although my PC is pretty bad. Only 2 Gigs of Ram and an a P4 me thinks
Suggestion : Allow the MJ Storage blocks be able to be Shift clicked with the Wrench for Instant pick up.

The crash makes seems reasonable given what you explained. I couldnt figure out how something semed to have vanished when it shouldn't have. IU was definately caused by blocks / and or the liquid disappearing. I will stop it crashing in this case.
I just did some testing, and it seems both versions have the bug with the 'do not use' block. This doesnt happen if you shift click though. out of the GUI though. Weird. I guess I always  click : ) This shouldn't actually matter, but could you double check that shift clicking gives the expected result and see if this fixes the FPS issues (though I doubt it).
As for the shift click with the wrench, will do. I will do the same for all the machines too. Did you know the conduits already support this?
A suggestion I'd like to make, is to remove that delay between mousing over something in one of your GUIs, and having that information thing pop up. In many of the other mods, like forestry, mousing over a button will instantly give you the tooltip.

Yup. lol. First thing i tried when i saw the conduits for fun lol. Was very happy it worked lol.
Clicking and Shift clicking give the same block for me. the 'Do not use' Block.
Seems better. But don't Quote me on that. Went from 50 to 60/70. Like is Said my computer is Anchient. lol
Hmm, I found a bug with the alloy furnace in the latest 1.6.2 version. If I fill all the top slots with quartz, it will smelt one fused quartz and use a quartz item from each stack. However, if I just have just one stack of quartz, it will smelt one fused quartz for each item in the stack.
Edit: Nevermind, I didn't notice that it took multiple quartz for the recipe. What I get for staying up late...
The video was really helpful thanks! Seeing all the hidden wires in the house at the end was awesome I couldn't even notice all the facades!
One thing I'm not sure if I'm simply doing wrong or its not a feature yet but the liquid conduits don't seem to play nicely next to buildcraft pipes. The liquid conduits keep connecting to the BC pipes and not to each other and when I used a pipe plug on the BC pipe the conduit ignored the plug and still connected straight into the BC pipe as if the pipe plug wasn't there.
Edit: After playing around with it further I got the following strange behavior. If the BC pipe is there already and I place conduits next to it they try to connect to the BC pipe and won't connect to each other. But as you can see they are affected by the plugs, their texture just doesn't change as it looks like they are still trying to connect
I have the chisel mod installed and it using smelted gravel to make concrete. Maybe you could use
gravel + rubber in your smelter to produce industrial binder.

Done, though its not quite instant as that seemed annoying to me. It is much faster now though.

I have had a quick look at this. and I think it is expected behaviour. As soon as my conduits have fluid in them a newly placed conduit wont connect to it. Just right click on the opposing faces of the conduits to get them to join.
As for the rendering issue with the plugs, this isn't easily fixed as code wise, the pipe still tells me I can connect to it, it just wont send or receive any liquid.

I have added a config option that allows a different recipe to be used. It is just four gravel in a square in the crafting grid for now. It gives you less binder but is instant (no need to smelt it). I will see if I can come up with a better alternative.
I did notice that when I use the ender IO and open an applied energistcs Controller it appears to be empty.
NEI does not appear to show the recipes for any of your metals.
any plans for a bundled/mixed Redstone signal type conduit?
Or any plans for being able to have multiple fluid conduits on the same line?
So IE - Fuel and water conduit?
EDIT - I read back in the post and I see you have already answered the ME question.
Limiting to the same range would not do much good as its range is pretty useless.
I would suggest a config option and leave it to the user, or you could ask algorithm what his thoughts on it are.
I know him and he has some points he likes to stand on for balance purposes in his mod,I would suggest asking him,see if he is cool with it, if that is your concern.
Because frankly That would be a huge bonus for the IO.
Also it seems the limit on the IO is render distance is that on purpose?
One more thing, Any way you can look into getting mobs and NPC (From Custom NPCs) to render in the IO? And even possibly have the IO send a redstone pulse when the player looks into it?
Just a heads up, sent you some new textures yesterday morning @12 GMT.
The ingots/nuggets and all the craft-able machines are linked in the last message I sent.
Also I couldn't help but notice that the textures for the alloy smelter and painter on state aren't actually working in game. The machine works but doesn't change the state.

The 1.5.2 version is now uploaded. Same changes as 1.6.
And congratulations. you just replaced the power and Liquid portion of my Favorite mod in one fell swoop. lol XD

I have started talking to a couple of people who have offered to do one, so hopefully one will appear soon.
Enjoy!

Doh, I just checked and the recipe seems to have vanished. it will reappear in the next release. It doesn't do anything differently to the buildcraft wrench, forestry wrench or railcraft crowbar, all of which work with Ender IO.
Yup. lol. First thing i tried when i saw the conduits for fun lol. Was very happy it worked lol.
Clicking and Shift clicking give the same block for me. the 'Do not use' Block.
Seems better. But don't Quote me on that. Went from 50 to 60/70. Like is Said my computer is Anchient. lol
But as you can see they are affected by the plugs, their texture just doesn't change as it looks like they are still trying to connect
gravel + rubber in your smelter to produce industrial binder.
Fixed.
Temporary solution done.
The wernch now has a recipe
Done. This works with all the machine and conduits now.
Done, though its not quite instant as that seemed annoying to me. It is much faster now though.
Done. My son will be happy, he has been bugging me to add this for weeks
Enjoy!

Few things

The ingots/nuggets and all the craft-able machines are linked in the last message I sent.
Also I couldn't help but notice that the textures for the alloy smelter and painter on state aren't actually working in game. The machine works but doesn't change the state.
