Someone please help, I use the installer and got the mod and have uninstalled Java and reinstalled the 32 bit version, made sure the path was correct, and tried many different things, but the screen just keeps saying, 'Please use Java 32 bit; Read FAQ's' or something along those lines.
Can u open up a command prompt window (start, then search for cmd) and type java -version into it. It should say whether or not the java program on the path is 32 bit or 64 bit. For example i have a 64 bit Java Virtual Machine version 1.8.0_11 and "java -version" outputs:
java version "1.8.0_11" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_11-b12) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.11-b03, mixed mode)
If this outputs "64-Bit" like mine that means that you have the wrong java executable on the path and you need to edit it to the proper (32-Bit) path.
@SuperEnderMax ok i can help you out here, installers are safe. in this case (being a mod) it will ask you if you want to keep the file as it may cause harm to your computer (only because .jar files could house viruses) but I've downloaded it and there is no virus that my anti spyware has seen so im sure there are none. (be cautious though, some mod downloads could be fake and be there just for the purpose of giving you a virus) after it is downloaded (incase you havent modded minecraft before, you need forge 1.6.4 download is here: http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and click 1.6.4 latest, don't worry its safe. to install it to minecraft heres a video guide: just follow the steps and you're good) and then find the mod file after downloading it will be in your downloads, take that file and open your .minecraft folder. (the normal path is C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft) and create a new folder (if there isn't one already) then name it "mods". drag the mod you just downloaded, (web displays mod) into the mods folder. that should be all but after that you will need to get 32 bit java for the screen to work. for that, visit the faq on the main page of this mod. hope this helps.
@TrackerJacks im not sure if this is a good way of being sure (because i still cant get screen to work). but if you change your render distance to far, a warning should come up in red text saying "32 bit users are not recommended to use a far render distance". im not sure if that means 32 bit pc or 32 bit java, but anyways hope that helps and if not i hope the creator of the mod can help.
My web screen is just white whenever I do something, and I can't find my config file. Does anyone know where the config file is located? I use WinRAR and a 1.6.4 version. I am using the Forge profile and I used the mod via the installer.
EDIT: I found the config file for the thing, but it says that Windows can't open the file. This happened recently with a .jar file, and then my computer suddenly got messed up a lot when I tried to open the .jar file with WinRAR. I'm afraid that I'll destroy my computer if I try to open the .cfg file. What do I do?
@NintendoPlaysMc i have and its ok to but that wont help, ive tried... you need to delete this mod and then download it from this site: http://montoyo.net/wd2.php?v=latest&t=installer . thats how i got it to work for me. after its done downloading, you still need java 32 bit. what i did was delete java entirely and then i reinstalled java (the 32 bit version) and then i put the mod in my folder and it works now! (it is still kind of buggy, ive had something happen where i delete the screen but the screen entity stays and is just blank and white, but no actual damage to the world or minecraft was done! ) hope that helps to anyone trying to download the mod!
Thank you
