Can't figure out anything about this mod. Tesla Towers look pretty, though. Maybe consider adding crafting recipes, a small "getting started", and a basic description of what the items added by this mod do?
Until then, good luck with your Tesla Towers, whatever those do. I can't figure it out.
tesla coils now are used to transmit energy via lighting bolts for every tesla coil stacked on a base adds 3 blocks meaning your transceiver must be hooked up to a power source (Wind turbine, TE dynamos, IC genrators so on and so forth) then 1-6 blocks away from the transceiver make another tesla coil stack it has to be a minimum of 2 max of build height limit (You can make the transceiver taller giving it more block coverage) , you can't craft them unless you have Universal electricity and Basic Components are installed in your mods list, then on your last tesla coil stack (depends on how far you want to be) put a battery (energy cell, Battery, CESU) below the base of the tesla coil then do your wiring.
In Essence your world will technically have electric lines running through the world basically they are a cheaper form of thermal expansion tesseracts and can probably start running a fusion reactor with them as well speaking of which I'd probably do that
First of all, Happy New Year to everyone, although the last post on here was made on Dec. 3 of 2013 and this is only the 5th of Jan 2014 that I'm posting but what I'm here for is:
1.) As Devalut said a few post up this page: "I'm using 1.6.2 and I can't seem to get any power to the modular battery, I've tried placing it directly below a tesla tower with a cell insideI've tried connected it via wire, activating the said wire, and nothing happens. And even the basic furnace application doesn't work! The wiki and two of videos say to place the tower directly on the furnace. That is false information. You need to place wire connecting to the furnace and the tesla tower and then right click it."
I have the same problem, I place the tesla coil on top of the furnace and the wire to the furnace, (which didn't work) to the tower (didn't work as well) and even did both at the same time, along with right clicking or not, still didn't work, that furnace never came on to give off energy. And yes, I was using 1.6.2 version of the mod for this, the latest "stable" version of it, since it was in green...but it's not working. Only thing I found working was the battery box gaining energy only if I put the charged battery cell in myself and the Electromagetic contractor from chest to chest ONLY if the chest are in the same line of the blocks, the path finding does NOT work at all. So pretty much this mod is useless to me until I find someone that can post or make a new spotlight video about this working up to this day. Don't get me wrong, I am sure this mod is wonderful and I really look forward to using it, I'm needing something like this for the Power Plant I'm working on.
2.) I have try using all the 1.6.4 version of this mod, which all of them so far is in white on the download page, and every single one of them crashes the game on start-up. Yes I have all the cores it needs to run the mod and so far, only that one 6.2 version runs but the block dont work.
Soooo... I really hope to see this mod working soon and hope it's still alive because I know the mod users want to be happy about this mod to see it run good on thier worlds. Until then, I'll sit this mod ouf until a stable version of this comes out for 1.6.4.
#1: Currently all the mods are tagged with Forge version 9.11.1.164. The latest is 9.11.1.165, and there is no universal or installer for 164.
#2: I have the latest UE, Multipart, and Calclavia Core installed, and if the mods are made for an older version of forge, they could use an older version of any of these too.
I've only been working on this for a half hour so i'll post more if i find a working build.
Edit: Couldnt find anything. I get a different error with every build of Multipart (Tesla tower, Conveyor belt, Gear). I figured i'd just wait it out

Okay, so I got the latest 1.6.4 version of the mod and am beyond confused. The only information on this mod is two spotlights on way outdated versions, and I dont even have the slightest clue where to start. Is there a wiki or information page somewhere?
I installed UE, ICBM, AS, CC, TMI, and ReiMM, no problems. I add RI, and crash. See that I need Forge Multi Part, added, and see that I needed CodeChicken. I added that aaaaaaand. Crash. Hee's my report, can someone give me a hand, please?

Please, PLEASE give more information on how to interact with blocks, giving a silly description and then throwing together a ham-handed wiki together and never updating it makes it very frustrating to use.Hell, there's only two videos of this mod and the basics are not even updated. So until I stumble upon it or someone posts something I won't be able use the most basic form of the mod, or maybe the rest of the mod is just a goose chase of endless hidden that requires a spread sheet and a four week course on hieroglyphics

Update: HOLY MACKEREL, I've gone through the four week course that is the bug forums of Universal electricity and the creator graces us with his presence on rare occasions to select girls and boys on the forum to reveal the insidious under skirt of the mods inner workings.

For those who can't get past the cryptic ooze of universal electricity
- There is no universal electricity items like the coal furnace and the battery box Resonant induction is the replacement. People somehow cannot fathom that placing this crucial knowledge on the MAIN PAGE of the bloody thing
- Tesla coils will transfer power when a wire is connected to the BOTTOM of the tower not just wamby pamby wishy washy anywhere like they do in the only two bloody videos tutorials and the ONLY entry on the wiki page
- Also Furnaces go off and on randomly requiring you to reset the blocks (i.e. destroying them and replacing them.), it's entirely buggy and pointless to try and get energy this way, Atomic science is pretty nifty for this but requires preparation
- Crash! Connecting a Energy cube from mekanism (or battery or the hell is it called?) Which laughably is the most annoying thing to install, christ, I went to a dozen of the bloody versions before it would stop crashing for some damn walkie talkie crap, anyway connecting a wire to an ene cube to a Coercion Deriver (from the modular force field system or MFFS) will cause a crash and will continue crashing until you either delete your world or delete the mods
- NEI users if you are like me and can only install the earliest mekanism mod YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SEE THE RECIPES FOR THE ITEMS

I noticed I use the UE tech mods Mekanism and Atomic Expansion far more in my game than any of the other big tech mods that I'm running (IC2, BC and TE) and Resonant Induction looks like it's going to be perfect with them. I came here hoping to learn if RI is at a stage yet where it plays nice with those other mods but I guess I'll just have to pop it in, start a new world and see how it goes. From what I can tell at the moment, it'd be worth it just for the windmills and the wiring ...and the in-world crafting, cooking ..pretty much everything that was covered in Calclavia's recent Resonant Induction PR3 videos on youtube... yeah. I love this mod without even having used it yet. Good luck on the progress

Exactly how does one install this thing? The instructions on the official site just say "Put the mod in the mods folder" but "the mod" doesn't specify which of the files I'm supposed to include. Are there separate files for each age so that people can install just one, or does the core only contain fundamentals and all the age files are necesary as well? What about the api? And exactly what else do I need to install? Forge is fundamental, and RI needs calclavia core, forge multipart, and Universal Electricity, and then I think Forge Multipart needs CodeChickenCore? Although it doesn't specify as far as I can tell...

I have the forge MP, universal electricity, and calc all in, plus the proper forge version.. and it all runs fine.. until I put -anything- from RI in it.. rather just the core or all the files, rather the older builds nada.. just crash.
Shame, I want to add this to my custom DW20 pack for my lets play... but it just wont load at all no matter what I do.

Yea I know the feel. I don't feel like this will be stable enough yet for a pack for a while. I'm looking forward to the Core and Electrical to work, not a big fan of mechanical and archaic. Not a bad idea, but not the best implementation imo.

I cant seem to get the quantum gate to work for me, every time I place down one of the glyph blocks my game closes on me, this is in the moonquest modpack btw.
I too am having trouble getting started. I've poured over the documentation at the mod's website and watched all the Youtube tutorials I can find, but either things have changed and those methods no longer work, or something's borked with my setup.
Ironically, stuff like the power, chips, metallurgic infusers, etc. has all been straightforward; it's the archaic age where I'm hitting a brick wall.
First, like coderorigion above I can't seem to get my mechanical windmill blades to connect to anything. In the tutorial, it looks like you just place the turbine on the end of a shaft, then connect the shaft to your other various mechanisms. I suppose I'm missing a part, because the blades just spin suspended in air with a small gap between the turbine and the shaft. If this is in the documentation somewhere, I sure don't see it.
My second problem is even more basic. Following the instructions, I built an engineering table and a hammer. I then placed my ore on the table, but when I right click and hold on the edge of the bench, the hammer just flails in the air without making a sound and nothing ever happens. I'm trying an iron hammer on an iron ore, but I've also made a diamond hammer and tried several other ores, all with the same result.
I'm using the Moonquest modpack on 1.6.4 which includes Resonant Induction 0.3.1.329. Can someone please tell me, am I following the wrong guide, is this a bug, or am I just missing something else entirely?
a private modpack is something you would use for yourself but not anything bigger than yourself...
Until then, good luck with your Tesla Towers, whatever those do. I can't figure it out.
In Essence your world will technically have electric lines running through the world basically they are a cheaper form of thermal expansion tesseracts and can probably start running a fusion reactor with them as well speaking of which I'd probably do that
1.) As Devalut said a few post up this page: "I'm using 1.6.2 and I can't seem to get any power to the modular battery, I've tried placing it directly below a tesla tower with a cell insideI've tried connected it via wire, activating the said wire, and nothing happens. And even the basic furnace application doesn't work! The wiki and two of videos say to place the tower directly on the furnace. That is false information. You need to place wire connecting to the furnace and the tesla tower and then right click it."
I have the same problem, I place the tesla coil on top of the furnace and the wire to the furnace, (which didn't work) to the tower (didn't work as well) and even did both at the same time, along with right clicking or not, still didn't work, that furnace never came on to give off energy. And yes, I was using 1.6.2 version of the mod for this, the latest "stable" version of it, since it was in green...but it's not working. Only thing I found working was the battery box gaining energy only if I put the charged battery cell in myself and the Electromagetic contractor from chest to chest ONLY if the chest are in the same line of the blocks, the path finding does NOT work at all. So pretty much this mod is useless to me until I find someone that can post or make a new spotlight video about this working up to this day. Don't get me wrong, I am sure this mod is wonderful and I really look forward to using it, I'm needing something like this for the Power Plant I'm working on.
2.) I have try using all the 1.6.4 version of this mod, which all of them so far is in white on the download page, and every single one of them crashes the game on start-up. Yes I have all the cores it needs to run the mod and so far, only that one 6.2 version runs but the block dont work.
Soooo... I really hope to see this mod working soon and hope it's still alive because I know the mod users want to be happy about this mod to see it run good on thier worlds. Until then, I'll sit this mod ouf until a stable version of this comes out for 1.6.4.
#1: Currently all the mods are tagged with Forge version 9.11.1.164. The latest is 9.11.1.165, and there is no universal or installer for 164.
#2: I have the latest UE, Multipart, and Calclavia Core installed, and if the mods are made for an older version of forge, they could use an older version of any of these too.
I've only been working on this for a half hour so i'll post more if i find a working build.
Edit: Couldnt find anything. I get a different error with every build of Multipart (Tesla tower, Conveyor belt, Gear). I figured i'd just wait it out
Edit: Looks like another release, no luck
Yet another edit: SOLVED: Stupid me. I had to delete the old config files and let it genereate a new one.

Curse PremiumI noticed I use the UE tech mods Mekanism and Atomic Expansion far more in my game than any of the other big tech mods that I'm running (IC2, BC and TE) and Resonant Induction looks like it's going to be perfect with them. I came here hoping to learn if RI is at a stage yet where it plays nice with those other mods but I guess I'll just have to pop it in, start a new world and see how it goes. From what I can tell at the moment, it'd be worth it just for the windmills and the wiring ...and the in-world crafting, cooking ..pretty much everything that was covered in Calclavia's recent Resonant Induction PR3 videos on youtube... yeah. I love this mod without even having used it yet. Good luck on the progress

Retired StaffI have the forge MP, universal electricity, and calc all in, plus the proper forge version.. and it all runs fine.. until I put -anything- from RI in it.. rather just the core or all the files, rather the older builds nada.. just crash.
Shame, I want to add this to my custom DW20 pack for my lets play... but it just wont load at all no matter what I do.
Yea I know the feel. I don't feel like this will be stable enough yet for a pack for a while. I'm looking forward to the Core and Electrical to work, not a big fan of mechanical and archaic. Not a bad idea, but not the best implementation imo.

Ironically, stuff like the power, chips, metallurgic infusers, etc. has all been straightforward; it's the archaic age where I'm hitting a brick wall.
First, like coderorigion above I can't seem to get my mechanical windmill blades to connect to anything. In the tutorial, it looks like you just place the turbine on the end of a shaft, then connect the shaft to your other various mechanisms. I suppose I'm missing a part, because the blades just spin suspended in air with a small gap between the turbine and the shaft. If this is in the documentation somewhere, I sure don't see it.
My second problem is even more basic. Following the instructions, I built an engineering table and a hammer. I then placed my ore on the table, but when I right click and hold on the edge of the bench, the hammer just flails in the air without making a sound and nothing ever happens. I'm trying an iron hammer on an iron ore, but I've also made a diamond hammer and tried several other ores, all with the same result.
I'm using the Moonquest modpack on 1.6.4 which includes Resonant Induction 0.3.1.329. Can someone please tell me, am I following the wrong guide, is this a bug, or am I just missing something else entirely?
