Want to play Minecraft like Spaceboot1 in his Let's Play? Now all my changes are available for public download!
I play Survival Single Player, and the focus is on balanced and interesting changes. Class files for multiplayer are now also available.
You may have seen some of these ideas posted as suggestions in the Suggestions forum. Eventually I'd like to implement everything I've ever suggested, but for now, it's just the easy ones.
Single Player Version Download:Here! you will find a file called Woodchuck.rar. Included are class files that you should drop into your minecraft.jar. I suggest you create a new profile, but that's up to you. Also included is a custom resource pack with only the resources needed for Spaceboot1's mods (codename Woodchuck). You will also need to change your language to Canadian English in order to see my names for things.

Block IDs used are 204 to 219. Item IDs used are 172 to 182. I'm going to try to keep these the same until I make a Forge compatible version. Eventually though, maybe two or three updates from now, they will have to be changed, since Mojang may add more blocks and items. That said, I'm predicting that Mojang will get rid of IDs entirely in a couple of updates.
I would really like to continue to update this set of mods. But I'm going to require your patience and your support.
Substance (What's Actually in this Mod):
Version 1.4
Blaze Ladders!
Wooden Slabs have a unique texture.
Fixed some bugs.
Added in Version 1.3
Pistonium ore now generates in the Jungle!
Block of Arrows added
Broom tool added
Dispenser recipe and texture changed. (To make a dispenser, use gold where it used to be cobble)
Enchantment table recipe changed (Six diamonds and a book, no obsidian)
All zombies can be cured
Added in Version 1.1
Rotten flesh blocks, made with 9 rotten flesh; when placed in the world, they decay into dirt, and generate a small amount of xp for you.
Carrots and potatoes now grow in the ground, requiring a spade to harvest them.
Bone bars are made with 6 bones.
Block of Sugar is made from 9 sugar, and horses will eat it.
Original stuff from Version 1.0
Made experience orbs invisible and inaudible.
Trees grow in plains.
Pigs breed via brown mushrooms, apples, and carrots.
Horses enter love mode via hay blocks.
Cows drop more leather, less beef.
Sheep drop mutton.
Villagers drop "flesh".
Cacti can be placed next to each other to build big, cool cacti.
Woodchips block.
Stick recipe is changed (it's diagonal now).
Wooden button and stone button recipe are changed (back to the original 2-block recipe).
Partially removed: cobblestone slab, stone brick slab, sandstone stairs, cobblestone stairs, coloured planks, cobblestone wall, mossy wall, glass panes.
Golden apple recipe reverted.
Stone brick recipe yields less.
Shingles block (stair shape, made of gravel, paper, slime.)
Plaster block (smelt sandstone)
Glass drops sand.
Asbestos ore block generates near sandstone and can make asbestos armour (not yet fireproof).
New hopper recipe: use bricks instead of iron ingots.
Thatch block, made of tallgrass in a stair shape.
Shears recipe is changed: "i i", " s ", "s s", i = iron ingot, s = stick.
Wooden shears added: "p p", " s ", "s s", p = planks, s = stick.
Anvils are now cheaper, just use iron ingots.
Endermen pick up more different blocks.
Snow enabled in The End (seems buggy still, but shouldn't hurt your game)
Ice tongs added: made of six iron ingots, harvests ice.
Cats are less loyal to their owner.
Coal blocks fall like gravel, and sound like gravel, and require a shovel to harvest.
Saddle recipe is five leather in the shape of a boat.
Faux command block: intended not to work, crafted with item frame, four stone buttons, a diamond, an emerald, a redstone dust, and one dye of any colour.
Copyright: If you are a maker of mod packs, and would like to include one or more elements of my mod in your mod pack, please ask permission first. If you're going to give this mod to others, please only do so by pointing them to this thread. Some of my ideas are fairly universal, so for example, I can't/won't fight over other people making a "Shingle" block, for example. But the code and texture, in this particular mod, are mine.
So I've added a couple more blocks and made some small changes. Should I post them immediately, or wait until I have a whole bunch? Or wait until Minecraft itself updates?

I think you are going to love my Survival Let's Play series on YouTube! It's called Spaceboot1's Garden. I make pretty things.

So, working on the boat dimension now? Remember that? Ahhh, good ol days....
Anyway, what do you need to run these? Just Modloader? I might try them out later, if I can install Modloader (To used to Forge's simple installing of mods, so, I am going to have to completely relearn how to mod the not simple way)

Feel free to send me requests if you want me to play on any maps you've made.

I made these mods the old fashioned way, no modloader or anything required. It's just drop the class files directly into your jar. With the new profile system, you can have a separate jar for my mod.

Nice, that must have taken forever to code, I will try them out in a little bit.

I downloaded it, and when I loaded into the game, it was missing textures and block names, don't know if that was my fault, or the mod's.
Nevermind, needed to switch resource and language packs.
Essentially yes, I edited the classes using MCP. If you'd like to use my mod, there's basically two components. One, copy the class files and put them into your Minecraft jar. I suggest making a new profile for this purpose. Two: copy the resource folder into your own resource packs folder.
This mod is not currently compatible with Forge or any other mods that I know of. I do intend to rectify this if possible, but not until I have some free time.

things i dont like is uncraftable shape blocks (stairs, slabs, etc) coal block changes and craftable saddles (a little too cheap with just leather)
I've had some pretty long arguments in Suggestions and Recent Updates about these issues, and you may actually be in the majority, because a lot of people disagreed with me. But, this is more of an "opinion build" so it's stuck that way for now unless you are a modder yourself.
I do urge you to try playing without the blocks I took out. Especially the cobble variants, I think they're a crutch, a band-aid, a short-cut. Choosing to build with anything less than full blocks should be a serious decision with serious aesthetic consequences.

But Forge is so completely easy to code to. Just make the item ids above 4096.
--EDIT--
Why do you edit base classes? It destroys compatibility.
Wow. You again. Removing items that are needed in some cases?
No thanks.
Total supportNo support, to this mod and to your suggestions.
None of them are thought through, and taming pigs with carrots makes it a challenge. With the addition on Apple Taming, and Saddle Recipes in this mod, you would have tamed a pig between Minecraft Days 1 and 2.
Coal Blocks, being harvested with a shovel?! That is just thought out the wrong way. You mine Coal Ore with a pickaxe, therefore mining a Coal Block should use a pickaxe.
Cats less loyal to their owner? I don't like cats, but this is Ludacris.
Anybody who may be interested in this mod, read the Changelog to see what is actually in this mod. It may change your mind.
The only thing I support is Trees growing in Plains Biomes.

I did play it first ._.

Let me put it this way: tell me about your actual experience. Tell me why breeding pigs with apples and mushrooms made the game less of a challenge for you. Tell me how coal blocks harvested via shovel made the game worse for you. Tell me about a time when you really needed a cat to be following you.
