Have you given any thought to adding a bindable sprint key? Anyway, I really like what you've added to what is by far my favorite mod. Well done.
Yup, double-press sprint fails for me occasionally due to lags and keeps annoying me, I realized I didn't put that on my todo list.
Glad you like the mod mod!
Unfortunately, each new version of Minecraft is obfuscated differently, even if a particular class file wasn't changed. Which breaks any compatibility across versions.
I didn't notice the diffs until now. As I read in BTW readme:
> Removed 3D anaglyph mode from most blocks as it was over-complicating further optimization. Sorry guys, but it was largely useless/headache inducing anyways, and never worked quite right to begin with.
So likely it will be too much of effort for me to do.
- Removed restriction to Java 6/7 because of the way script engine was used.
Now the patcher can run on OpenJDK or Java 8
- Script fixes related to the above update.
- Backport correct tree tops textures
- Add Sprint key, default to Left Ctrl. This required updating the settings
page to a scrollable list, which was borrowed from Minecraft Forge.
- Fix FC's oversight that caused mycelium and huge mushroom blocks display
swirling True Sight particles, even though mobs cannot spawn on them
- Added some visual explanation to Gloom.
- Fixed writing table causing crash when used simultaneously in multiplayer,
and possible duplicating of items.
- Fixed /playtime command for multiplayer
- Renamed Haste enchantment on boots to Velocity, not to confuse with the
Haste beacon which increases mining speed.
- Made loose rocks to cobblestone recipe shapeless
- Added loose rocks and ender pearls to piston Hardcore Packing
- Made sign posts accept unicode characters
- Improved font display for latin and cyrillic scripts when unicode font
is chosen. That includes a fix for wider characters.
- Patcher now looks in its own directory in addition to
"current working directory", as on some configurations the latter was
defaulting to a wrong place.
- Fixed problem with unicode characters when renaming
- Removed the annoying inventory shift when player has effects/buffs.
It was getting unbearable when running in and outside of a beacon range.
It's true. After making Deco Add-on runnable and playing with it for a while, I was dissatisfied with it, so I didn't spend much time to polish and integrate it.
- Changed villagers to display newest offers in the beginning of the list
rather than the end, to put an end to constant scrolling through offers.
- Changed beds to not explode in other dimensions, so you can sleep in
a bed anywhere now.
- Changed chests to be placeable next to each other, regardless of any
adjacent double chests. Single chests will be merged to double chests as
before. This allows configurations (especially together with hoppers) that
weren't possible before. Not being able to place a chest seemed like an
arbitrary and awkward limitation. Placing a chest while sneaking allows to
control which chest it combines with, or none at all.
- Fixed chests, ender chests, wall signs, beds, beacons and cocoa beans so
they display cracks while being harvested (MC-676).
- Fixed kiln so it is able to display multiple cracked blocks at once.
- Improved item frames: fixed items being dark (MC-7001), or off-center
(MC-8662); framed maps now occupy full block, and label of a renamed item
is displayed when looking at the frame.
- Greatly reduced chance for scroll drop from ocelots, for balance
- Added ability for wolves to respawn in forest biome (but not forest hills)
like hostile mobs. This is mainly done to support long term servers, where
no animals and wolves left for kilometers around. This feature can be
turned off in BTWTweak.cfg.
- Added hard-boiled eggs, made from raw eggs in a cauldron, and ability to
hatch chicks from eggs placed on a padding block and immediately below an
active light block.
- Increased delay for seeds rooting themselves to 2 seconds
- Changed explosion of stone and cobblestone so there is a small chance
to drop a pile of gravel
- Added item tooltips to see different unfired pottery and planter types
more clearly
- Made snow and ice blocks melt in more consistent manner: stay in dark,
melt in light (skylight is ignored in cold biomes). Coincidentally, this
also makes snow blocks let a little bit of light through.
First off I want to thank you for your work. It has rekindled my interest in minecraft.
Would the Deco addon work with this tweak? I've already decided to use your tweak over the deco addon if I do get back into minecraft but it would be nice to use both.
Again I want to thank you for this. I've been really enjoying myself so far.
I have a personal texture pack I use and I've been updating it since the last time I played BTW. However, I don't know what you call the textures for stones, furnaces, and the other blocks this tweak changed. Are they listed earlier in the thread or will I be unable to change them?

Updated the first post with a more friendly list of changes. It was painful to format.
Hopefully it's more informative and interesting now!
It's nothing major necessarily, but I've noticed your tweak to glass breaking can be circumvented by using deco's colored glass.

Some very nice tweaks. The chests especially is amazing, heavily agree that it's an awkward limitation at best.
I don't think it's worth it, besides, some players might like the occasional challenge

If you have minecraft.jar with BTW and Deco installed, and install BTWTweak on top, it detects Deco add-on and fixes it.
Again I want to thank you for this. I've been really enjoying myself so far.

Glad you enjoy BTWTweak in particular =)
If you open the patcher you downloaded, BTWTweak.jar, as a zip archive, there's another archive inside it, GPEBTWTweak_files.zip.
It contains three directories with textures:
btwmodtex/
mob/
textures/
Copy them to your texture pack, change as you prefer, and you should be good to go.
The texture filenames should be self-explanatory (and to new players: spoilery!).
Hey Grom. A friend and I have been playing on my very first BTW world, that I have had since late 2012.
I installed the BTWTweak this time around. What I did was change spawn so we would be about 5k from original spawn.
My base wasn't that far from the original spawn on that world, and I felt we needed a little challenge getting back.
With it being an older world, my base was well stocked. When we finally made it back to the old stomping grounds, I figured we would celebrate.
See spoiler for details:
I have been waiting for that for a VERY long time.
Rampage_x, nice to see a deserved rest for a tired adventurer. Glad this mod helps you have even better BTW experience!
Greetings.
I'm trying to run the patcher, but It's throwing me an error.
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException
at java.io.StringWriter.write(StringWriter.java:65)
at BTWTweaker.stream2String(BTWTweaker.java:65)
at CliPatcher.main(CliPatcher.java:63)
I'm running Ubuntu 13.04, using OpenJDK 7.
Do you know what might be causing the error?
Hi!
Not quite sure why this error happens, but as the code affected was calling for a rewrite anyway, here's the updated patcher that fixes it.

Just amazing.
