I'm playing on server, and there are some mods that I want to get on. I'm using Magic Launcher, and for Rei's Minimap, it did the job perfectly, after I added ModLoader. But when I tried to add Inventory Tweaks, It said I needed Forge, so I added that too. But having Modloader and Forge on at the same time caused the launcher to fail, and showed a log for what happened. I got rid of Modloader, and I'm using just Forge. Now, whenever I try to launch Minecraft, It just quits on me. The versions I'm using of the mods/launcher are:
Magic Launcher: 1.1.7
minecraftforge-universal-1.6.2-9.10.0.804.jar
Inventory-Tweaks-Mod-1.6.2.jar
[1.6.2]ReiMinimap_v3.4_o1.zip
Can anyone help me? I also want to get Optifine on here, but I don't to do it unless I know I can get this to work.
You don't need to install modloader forge has modloader built in. My advice, delete your .minecraft folder redownload everything and try again, see if it fixes it.
Forge Universal.jar is no longer needed and Magic Launcher won't even load it right. You have to first download the installer version of Forge. to open the launcher if your running windows is to left click on the file select open with and look for Java™ Platform SE Binary. Now you can run the installer. Make sure install client is selected and click on okay.
Now open the vanilla launcher that was relesed for 1.6. Change the profile from Default to Forge and start Minecraft with the vanilla launcher. This will allow Forge to fully install a modifiled version of Mindcraft that has forge built in. After Minecraft starts up you can exit the program. Now open Magic Launcher and click on Setup. Next to Enviroment select 1.6.2-Forge9.10.0.804 If this is not selected then Magic Launcher will not see the modified Jar that forge installed.
Now for Optifine Download B4 Ultra for 1.6.2 and add it to the Mods list. Next click on Advanced tab and look for Parameters copy and paste this line of text there:
-Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true
If you don't do this then Optifine will cause texture glitches or even crash so it has to have that line of text to make it work with Forge.
Last make sure all other mods are in the External Mods list.
If you still get issues then remove Rei's Minimap and replace it with Zan's Minimap since it has a Forge version. Here is the link: http://www.planetmin...d/zans-minimap/
If all else failes try another version of Forge. Build 789 is the most stable. Also Forge keeps the any versions you have installed so you can switch between the jars at will using Magic Launchers Enviroment selection.
I hope you find the combination of mods and version of Forge that works for your needs as well as have found what I have posted useful.

Do you mean Ultra? I can't find Optifine HD B4 Universal.

Yes sorry about that. I had to rush to post that do to needing to go to work. I didn't have time to change it but do know I typed it wrong. I'll edit it now to fix it.
One more thing to note if you add any mods that require core mods for example TreeCapitator and NEI need a core mod. You put the core mod in the External Mods now. Forge updated so that everything goes into one folder to make it easier for installing mods.
