I also am very interested in a 1.7.2 version. I love mo creatures and biomes o plenty. The two mods are made for each other imo. Just need some major balancing. Id like to see ents in certain forests only. Elephants in lush deserts and jungles, no dolphins in rivers etc. But the text file for these are very difficult on the eyes to adjust.
In short I need a stable functioning GUI for MoCreatures and Biomes o plenty 1.7.2. If one could be provided for this update I will donate $10. might not seem like much but at least its something compared to me just begging and bugging you about it. Please respond soon as my offer will last as long as I can stand having witches spawning on my island next to every other hostile mob. Which is about one more week
Probably your best best, actually, would be putting in the time to learn a good programming text editor. One with robust searching and preferably the ability to "fold" or collapse the parts of the text you aren't interested in. My background is mainframe, so I have used Kedit for windows and GVim pretty successfully. I know a lot of people who like UltraEdit, though I'm not certain of its capabilities beyond syntax highlighting. Any of them are going to have at least a moderate learning curve to be able to utilize the advanced features, but the knowledge is transferable to any other kind of editing you might need to do in the future.
Another vote for 1.7.2! I am trying to work MC into more of a survival adventure, and keeping the spawns low (to make it essential to concentrate on building food sources) is really important. I gave up on MoCreatures as it ships needing config adjustments and seems to cause object ID bugs and crashes too :\ So if you do update this to 1.7.2, I'll be happy to give it a try

I may think "spawn rates" concur with "frequency" but how do I deactivate the vanilla spawn settings on 1.6.4 version Mo'Creatures Mod?

I think you actually do it in Custom Mob Spawner, in .minecraft/config/CustomSpawner/Global.cfg

Hey I need a bit of help understanding the configs settings please. I read the OP but am still a little confused.
ItemWeight - (int) Default item weight for entity entries with no #'s given
MinCount - (int) Default Min Count for entity entries with no #'s given
MaxCount - (int) Default Max Count for entity entries with no #'s given
-How does ItemWeight work? Does it use multiple or...? I am unsure.
-The Min and Max Count is set the 4 in Vanilla yet you can get 100+ mobs spawning naturally at night? Is it related to above ^?
And what does (Int) mean? Initial?
-In the Settings.properties I found this does this mean that the MAX monsters that can spawn at night is 70 mob FLAT? As in no more monsters will spawn once it hits 70?
-How does creature spawn frequency work? What does it mean by (Int)? And why is it set to 400?

After having so many problems with Mo's Creatures & Custom Mob Spawner (CSM) and having it never spawn in Wither Skeletons or Blazes (Without Spawners) and doing testing with different setting and everything. I spent over 20 hours testing MoC & CSM trying to get them to work.
I found your mod installed it threw CSM into the trashcan and EVERYTHING WORKS! I did disable everything from spawning for MoC in the configs and it all worked.
After experimenting with your spawner I turned on Ender Dragon Spawning and this amazing thing happened.
I really like how easy it is to use your spawner.
Also just trying to make sure but ItemWeight determines how many can spawn correct?
EX: I had only the plains biome with the abilty to spawn in Ender Dragons I had weight at 1 I believe then when I raised the number more spawned in

The ItemWeight is the percent chance out of 100 that this particular mob will be chosen to spawn when a mob of it's type (Monster, Creature, Water, Ambient) is chosen to spawn. So increasing the number will typically end up resulting in more of that particular mob but it's not a cap on the amount that can exist.

Thanks! I understand now and it makes sense for when I raised up the weight and most other things didn't spawn in.
Started working on the 1.7.2 update, just give me some time. 300 errors left, most likely caused by the packet changes - gonna take me a couple hours to rewrite it.
I see no reason why it wouldn't however as a test set ambient mobs to max in World 2 while leaving default in World 1. In World 2 there should be insane amounts of bats spawning in World 1 there should the normal amount of bats. If you have mods such a BoP, Twilight Forest etc. birds may also spawn as those mods add birds as ambient
when i open the media fire link it doesnt load it just says prepairing download i have decent internet but it doesnt work please help i also tried realoding the page still doesnt work

With just these mods, I am still unable to open the in-game GUI; in fact, there is no button config for it! I have looked in the CONTROLS menu already, there is no MSC2 button like in MC 1.6.4. Back in MC 1.6.4., all I did was press F6 and the menu popped up- this time there is no such thing. Can someone tell me how and where to find the MSC2 button? I do not want to mess with the configs in the Server World folder since I am not the host, but I am an OP and would like the convenience of configuring the config at home.

Not that Minecraft added a whole bunch of new biomes in 1.7, so I'd suggest you backup your old configs/worlds, as it's going to require some changes.

v1.2.0 does not have any permissions - anyone can use MSC2 on the server
v1.2.1 has permissions - only OPs can use MSC2 on servers

What if you remove Mo Creatures? Probably has something to do with too many of the creatures spawning.
How do I use this mod? Mod Options gives me the infamous TEST 1 TEST 2 DISABLED crap, and Config is greyed out in the Forge mod list.
