I was wondering though, do these spawning schematics only spawn in 1 dimension, or throughout all dimensions? If they are not dimension specific, it'd be nice if that was possible, so a nether castle won't spawn in the overworld randomly.
They are not dimension specific, but they can be limited by biome. Check out the "advanced" section. To make a Nether structure you'd want to remove the excludeBiomes tag and add a onlyIncludeBiomes tag.

New version 1.3, with 1.7 and dedicated server support! Downloads should be available shortly. Changes:
1.7 support!
Fixed loading the mod on a dedicated server. Note: There is now a config option enableItemsAndBlocks that MUST be turned off if you want Forge clients without the mod installed to be able to connect.)
Lots of internal changes and fixes for MC 1.7. Some MWG v1.2 schematics might not be compatible.
Wow, this is almost exactly what I've been looking for; great mod!
A couple of suggestions:
- It would be great if I could limit the number of any structure being generated. So a specially designed castle could only ever spawn once if I so desired.
- Have you ever used and configured BattleTowers? It has a great couple of options where you can give a minimum distance from spawn that a structure can be generated and another for minimum distance from each other.

I knew someone would ask this eventually. I don't really want to add something like that because I think it goes against the design of Minecraft's infinite worlds, which is especially important in multiplayer. (fun fact, it was never intended that there would be a finite number of strongholds). I might add it eventually, but it's definitely low priority. Also, that's one way Ruins has a leg up on MWG.

Whatcha reckon?
I considered limiting certain loot (and structures) to its distance from spawn, but again that doesn't work very well in multiplayer. I would like to be able to set a minimum distance between structures, though.
This looks like a great Mod! I can finally add Custom Trees (From the Tree repository) and other builds as a schematic. I'll definitely try this Mod out soon!
Thaaat's fair enough! The reason for my suggestions were because I've had a few ideas within my gaming group that would benefit from them. I'm thinking there's definitely potential for a gamemode kinda in-between survival and adventure (survival quest?) that they would work well for.
That being said, I'm still going to be using this often, so thanks again!
I'm absolutely in love with this mod, and I have some big plans for it on my private server. But I'm having a problem. Whenever I try to add either of the wands to my inventory through NEI, it says "giving (player) 0 (item)." Then I use the /give command, and the wands do get added to my inventory. Once I try to use them however, they vanish. Other than that, the mod seems to work great.
I'm on 1.6.4 with ~195 mods installed. I don't know if it's a mod conflict or not. I tried running it on other modpacks like Tech World and Magic World but ran into the same problems. Any help would be much appreciated.
Also, I was a little disappointed when I discovered that entities weren't added even when they were in the schematic. Do you have any plans to change that?

I've had some issues with the wands disappearing too. I'll investigate.

That's also a bug. I had entities working at some point…
EDIT: You have to be in creative mode in order to use the wands. I might change that or make it a config option.

I have good news! For some reason, the wands work when I get them from the creative tab. Any other way of acquiring them leaves them broken. It makes no sense, but at least there's a work around. And I was in creative when I was using NEI and /give too.
I wanted the entities because I'm planning on adding a ton of deadly, unique mobs to the game. With NBTedit and the mobs and items all my mods have added, the possibilities are astonishing. I'm hoping it will add a lot more challenge to the game and give it a Dark Souls feel. Since I can't add the entities themselves, I'll just add a bunch of spawners instead. I'm crossing my fingers that the spawners will maintain all their data.

Ah, are you using MCEdit? By default it doesn't include entities when exporting schematics. The wands should include them though.
I tried it with the wands too, but entities were not working. I filled an entire structure with pigs. It would spawn into new worlds, but there were no pigs to be found.
Also, the anchor blocks don't seem to be working. Everything kept spawning on the surface regardless of whether it had a stone anchor or ground anchor in it. And the anchors weren't being replaced either. They were spawned in with the rest of the schematic like a normal block.

Grr, I thought I fixed that. I'm sorry, I'll take a look. For now, if you're on 1.6, use an older version.
Edit: Don't be afraid to submit issues yourself on the tracker.
How do you set what the ground level is of the structure? Just wondering for builds that are underground or part underground? Also, I made a melon patch that seems to sometimes be ground level and sometimes 1 block embedded. :/

Read the original post about anchors. Above-ground builds use ground anchors and underground builds use stone anchors.

Thanks. I figured out and it works with the in-game save feature. The only problem is it seems those structures I save in-game have funky directions for stair blocks. If I use MCEdit, the stairs place correctly but the anchors don't work. :/
Awesome! Thanks so much for the update! Hate to be the guy that posts another issue just after an update comes out but I seem to have half slab blocks spawning in as double slab blocks instead. In this instance it was the top block of a build (the roof). I haven't done enough tests to see if all slabs spawn in this fashion. For the record too, it was a bottom half slab.
This is in the 1.6.4 version when using the save wand.

Do the anchors blocks are supposed to show on generated structures using MyWorldGen?
or was it unexpected?
Anchor blocks are not supposed to show up in generated structures. If they are, then that's a bug, and I'll look into it.
