I have a suggestion that would make this more compatible with mods.
Maybe if there's no value in the block map, you could make the mod automatically assign a sound based on the walk sound or material the block is set to (sound and material in the code)
This was already fixed in a beta, which I've been using for two weeks. Did Hurricaaane forget to post it on the OP? If so, check back a page or two and you should find it. The file name was PFClassesNDP_tr0x1__1_6_2
Am I the only who thinks that the step of clay blocks aren't fitting?
No, haha! In vanilla it sounds like it should sound, very "muddy" like. With PF it sounds like... stone or something.. Something that's hard, not soft and muddy.

Huricaaane your my MC sounds god I use MAtmos+Presence Fotsteps+Few Others from you on my MC Forge instalation all of your mods work at the perfection!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hum... +1
Yup. I made a suggestion above that could fix this issue, but I'm not sure how it could be coded. We'd have to wait, I guess.
it would be easier for this mod to change the sounds from mods because what you suggest is that every mod creator to use his sound library instead of the vanilla. the way i see it should be is that this mod detects what block a sound would make and assign it to this respective mod sound so like all blocks that are codded to use the stone step sound gets change to what this mods uses.
Okay seriously bro, Mojang needs to hire you to handle all the ingame sound mechanics, it would make the game 20 times better if they had the amazing sound work you pull off in vanilla Minecraft! Great job on once again pulling off something incredible! Love your mods!
BUG: i installed modloader on a fresh 1.6.2 minecraft with mcpatcher, put the contents of the archive in a mods folder in the 1.6.2 folder, in versions (the one mcpatcher made) and i play the game and for one minute the walking sound happens and then after a literal minute all game sound stops, any one know why? im on mac OSX, latest os version
Huricaane, since you made so many sound enhancment mods, could you make one that causes echoes of the noises in caves, dark areas, and the Nether/End? I know there is already a mod like this called BetterSound, but the owner is not updating it.

There is a test version if anyone want to try modded blocks: http://goo.gl/ixuKW
There is also a special key: Hold down CTRL-SHIFT-F FOR 1 SECOND to change the volume
I will push this version as an update in about a week if it's satisfactory enough.
I'll try to address the Nether Wart sound too. Torches won't make sounds (if you really want them to produce sounds, you can try to fiddle with the .cfg and .json files provided with the mod)
How do i set my mod block sound to match that of diamond and emerald. (the vanilla sound is a metal footstep but when i use that i get the sound as if i was stepping on an iron block
edit: also the leaves from highland mod make no sound, other than thank works great
Firstly, I want to say this is an absolutely amazing mod, kudos! I've been using MATMos for awhile and this compliments it brilliantly. That being said, it feels like this should be added to MATMos with its own Volume Slider and Enable/Disable ability.
The other thing I wanted to add was that it seems like on certain block combinations it glitches out and the game lags tremendously. I noticed this the other day when breaking Obsidian, and today when I walked into a corner of a building. I'm not sure if there is a conflict with MATMos going on (I have them both installed), or if it is something else entirely. For the time being I've removed Presence Footsteps (shedding a tear) until I can better pinpoint the issue.
For what it is worth, I'm using the FORGE version and (of course) 1.6.2
Ongoing, however, I definitely look forward to this mod being more stabilized and polished, and I'll be trying it again at a later time! The added ambiance for the footsteps is a wonderful touch in conjunction with MATMos, really adding immersive depth.
This and MAtmos are just so awesome! Kudos, good sir! Now all I need to fulfil my audio needs is an updated version of BetterSound, a mod that makes different music play depending on your surroundings, a mod that makes the sounds of breaking and placing blocks more advanced and realistic and finally a mod that varies the sounds you here upon being hurt or killed depending on how the player was hurt/killed.

I'm fine with it though.
