Way, this may be a dumb question, and forgive me if it is but I thought it was worth asking. There is a mod called Forbidden Magic that integrates nicely with blood magic and thaumcraft. Specifically, it adds a blood wand and blood staff that I absolutely love, as well as some alchemical wand caps that allow the collection of blood shards with a wand, pretty sweet! The developer has however stated that he will not be updating the mod to 1.7.2, but his mod is open source. I was wondering if you had any plans of implementing something similar directly into your mod?
Note: I don't know much about open source licensing, so if I requested something that is just plain dumb, please forgive me.
Edit: Also, you need to get a banner so we can support you easily!
I know the person who is working on the 1.7.2 port It should be out soon, hopefully!
And yeah, perhaps, but I suck at art

That's great!
And while I don't know much about your art skills, you are certainly an excellent mod maker! There's so much stuff in blood magic that I haven't even gotten into yet (the alchemy and the spells), but I already love it!
I do have a question though. The sigil of elemental affinity doesn't seem to work as an upgrade to blood armor. Is this for balance reasons? And I will admit, I haven't tried it on the latest versions.
I don't think I've seen any Blood Magic loot spawning in Nether Fortress chests. Not sure, but I think I haven't seen any in abandoned mine shafts and strongholds, too. Just the basic spawner dungeons. Conscious choice, or a tweak that hasn't been brought up/considered?
@stevensoaj, yeah the restriction of the Sigil of Elemental Affinity was done for balance reasons. You would have no reason to use Air, Water, or Lava if you could just use that one!

I just saw the Dev commentary video #6. I know It's been a while but I wanted to share my thoughts. I think the new spell system looks fantastic mechanically, but lacking thematically. That is, assembling strange mechanical-looking doodads into a long string that resembles a diesel generator just doesn't strike me as very "blood magey". In other words, I think the player should assemble them in a more aesthetically pleasing way that fits in with the style of the current structures. Perhaps by incorporating them into the Blood Altar's minarets, for example. Just an idea, but I think the blood altar and ritual stones have a far more coherent aesthetic style than these new spells.
Also, I notice that whenever I have a buff sigil like the Sigil of Fast Mining, it puts an icon on the right of my screen that is huge and distracting. Perhaps it's just Forge or NEI or that's doing it, but I wish it weren't there. Does anyone know how to get rid of it?
Finally, making reinforced slates is really annoying. You can't just leave them or they'll turn into imbued slates, and you can't use a lower-tier altar because it takes too long to get the LP. I wish I could just dump a stone and some lp into the blood altar each time I walk past, and not have to babysit them so much.

Well, this is still a interesting system in it's own right. Instead of some GUI, you must build the spells in world and are able to tweak them as you need without any problems. With a little redstone, you can have one crystal that can cast several spells.

Not sure which mod would cause this, but isn't blood magic. Without a mod list, I can't do much to help you.

You can automate the removal of slates using only one vanilla hopper. Place it under the altar and place one slate(In your case, reinforced) in each of the five slots. Then, once the stone turns into a reinforced slate the hopper will pull it out. Simple, easy automation.

Oh absolutely. I think it's a wonderful mechanic. I just think it would be better if it seemed a bit more magical. I dunno. Maybe if I arrange the spells along the edges of a giant floating cube or use them as pillars in one of my rooms they might look more mystical.

Ok thanks, just confirming.

Wow that's really simple. Thank you. However, I just found a bug. If I use a hopper to place blocks of stone INTO the blood altar, it's capable of putting multiple blocks in at once, not just one like the player is limited to.

Well, this system is built to be flex-able. Considering how large the spells you can build... Anything that might make it fell more magical would probably detract from this.

Not a bug. You'll find that by having more then one stone in the altar, it takes just as long and just as much LP as if you did it one at a time.

I has a question about the Ritual of the Feathered Knife. Does having one of these active turn into a massive drain on hunger? I kinda want to have one going in my base now that I've got my Master orb. Got a massive network to fill, and it's a bit tedious manually. But I kinda worry that the constant life drain will turn into constant starvation. I guess it just turns into chowing down before going out maybe. Also somewhat want a Well of Suffering, but a little afraid my cured villager pen might be too close to the altar. Don't so much want them to be suffering.
And armor creation. Oof. A pure self-sacrifice Tier 5 altar might be the best I can do to keep enough blood flowing. Or maybe I'll need to start thinking about building a new villager farm and switching to Sacrifice. Wonder if there's a way I could incorporate a villager farm into/above/something my already existing mob farm. Even still, those aren't the quicket/most efficient methods. If I need a quick boost of blood, the only thing I can really rely on is my own...
I'm having trouble automating the creation of reinforced slates, which I know is done with vanilla hoppers but I'm having trouble, any help?

Hail the textbook, for the textbook contains knowledge and knowledge is power. Those who do not seek new knowledge even occasionally are likely to live their whole life in a state of un- fulfilling stagnation.
I'm currently having a problem that I *think* is blood magic, but I can't prove it. Hopefully you can either set me straight or help me troubleshoot.
I have a small Agrarian Skies server (2.1.5 => which means Blood Magic 1.0.1c) setup and I've created a Level 2 blood altar in it with 4 efficiency runes and 4 sacrifice runes. The altar is around 5500 LP and as soon as I put an emerald in it to create an apprentice orb, the game "crashes".
Crashes is in quotes because it's not like any other crash I've seen. There is no crash report in the server log or in the FML log. It just hangs like it's in an infinite loop. The online players get booted and the server process becomes unresponsive. I can't even close the silly thing, so I end up having to 'kill -KILL' it to make it go away, further suggesting something like an infinite loop. The process is very repeatable...I just start the server up and put an emerald in the altar.
Let me know what I can do to help. I'm a Software Engineer by trade, so feel free to get as technical as you need.

It was burned in a day, wasn't it?
Also, how would somebody go about getting a blood mage book? Because I think they'd have to figure out a bunch of stuff before infusing it.
Waiting for respect <.<

No, that is a bug. Will be fixed in an upcoming hotfix.
