Idk, DimensionWalker, I think i've seen some pretty nice 1.8 mods. It's hard to mod for 1.8, since it's bleeding-edge, but i've seen enough mods Iike, that I don't want to move back to 1.7.10 right away.

looking forward to seeing what's next from this awesome mod developer! : D
I dunno; I for one am happy with it staying in 1.7.10 for a while. Setting aside that 1.8 is the most inefficient modding version yet, not many mods are in it that have convinced me to go to it. Thaumcraft's update wasn't enough to convince me either; for what it did right with its update it did about twice as much wrong by my impressions.
i agree completely. i don't see why people update to 1.8 ATM when almost no other mods are in it, considering how time consuming it is and how many features are lost, and the update itself? pppphhhh. in a modpack, if the 1.8 update was a mod, it was among the middle ones at best in amount of content, and among the bottom in actual usefulness and importance.
I don't know if this is a bug, but it seems rather strange, so I'll ask: why does the Sigil of Whirlwind not have a running LP cost to use, like the other sigils?

It should, unless it is set to 0 in the configs or it is bound to another person
I have 1.7.10-1.3.3-17 version of blood magic installed.
When I make the altar on a server and try to put a diamond on the altar it crashes my client. I have also tested it in singleplayer and the same happens.
A crashlog would be quite helpful for letting us help you. Being a Sanguinmancer doesn't give us the ability to hack into your computer read your mind and see exactly what's going on after all..
Further Checking the Crash seems to be a combination of bloodmagic and Chisel. I did right click the altar with another one just to test the simplest of interactions also.
That is the First edition Chisel, the newest one is Chisel 2, but yh I was thinking it could be due to that. Perhaps newest bloodmagic uses chisel 2 link ups?
Sort of; Chisel 2/Tterag's Chisel(yes, they are separate... ) added chiseled variants of the blood runes.
Suggestion to change the Structuring of the Blood Altar to become more server-friendly.
Most servers should use Towny which is based on claiming individual chunks. Keeping machinery and connections within one chunk also prevents a lot of strain on the server. Anything above a Tier-4 Altar requires at least 4 chunks to be claimed since it's 17 x 17.
Perhaps just bring in the layers to make it more compact? Would be greatly appreciated if this was taken into consideration <3

I'd actually have to disagree with part of this. Keeping most stuff in a single chunk seems to impact the server even worse than keeping it spread out. Also 4 chunks isn't that many.

Now thats just silly. Putting multiple tile entities in a chunk will increase that chunks processing. In this case however, a blood magic altar is a multiblock structure with a controlling tile entity - the altar itself.
Splitting it over chunks means the altar has the potential for parts of the overall altar structure to be unloaded. How does an altar deal with loosing a few tiers of capacity increase to a neighboring unloaded chunk?
The stability - and performance - of many multiblock strucutres can be significantly improved by building them in a single chunk - Big Reactor reactors and turbines work much more reliably when built in a single chunk - and it also means that chunk loaders need to load far less chunks to keep the multiblock working.
It is thus not unreasonable for players to want to build structures entirely within the confines of a single chunk. Personally I tend to build altars in the center of a chunk, so they do occupy a single chunk throuh Tier 4 - but then grow out to occupy 9 at Tier 6.
Glad to hear that 1.8 is in the works.

Could you add a demon lord boss who can only be damaged by getting his minion to shoot their shots at him? It would be pretty cool...
This is why we NEI
So, I fired off the Demon Invasion. And, well, underestimated the hitting power of the first demon I saw.
So I died. Nice - an actual challenge to face.
But...
Being a demon invasion, its in the habit of spawning more buildings and trampling terrain as it goes.
And it neatly spawned its next building on top of my gravestone.
Well well.
That's why you use Cyano's Lootable Bodies
If you haven't died again, (and I'm assuming this is Open Blocks) there should be a command in the server log that will give you back all your gear.
Ah, it doesn't matter how often you die, the world/data folder contains timestamped entries for each death. So you can enter
where the last bit corresponds to one of the inventory-*.dat files in the folder. This will NOT restore baubles or knapsack items.

....That would kind of inadvertently ruin the whole altar....?

What am I missing?
So I started Blood Magic this week and I'm at the tier 5 altar now and I'm stuck.
To progress to tier 6 I need 15m LP in my network to do the Demon Invasion summoning but I'm capped at 10m.
How do I increase my Soul Network capacity? (to get the last orb you need to perform the Demon Invasion ritual to get clusters)
Sorry if the answer is clear cut and I just missed it but as I mentioned before, I started playing around with this mod this week.
thanks in advance,
-teh
At least 25 Runes of the Orb in your blood alter will allow your blood orb to 'overcharge' by an extra +50% of its stated capacity.
thanks alot mate..gunna start working on them now ^.^
