Ahh, right right. I knew there was that config option, but I was confused by how he wanted the orb but had the knife. Usually expect that to be backwards. But I suppose for people doing videos, it might be prudent to use the orb for the viewers.
Hey, I'm currently experiencing a bug for the current 1.6.4 version of the mod. If I'm standing in front of the altar with the knife and start shift and right clicking (so that I don't put the knife in it), and accidentally kill myself doing so, the moment I reach 0 hearts I get kicked out of single player with a "Illegal Stance" on the screen. Clearing that sends me to the multi-player menu.
On a side note, when I die because of that, it screws up the rendering on a couple of Mekanism machines and gives 'em the missing texture checkers. I then have to break on of them, which crashes the game, to restore them to normal.
What does the air sigil say? It looks like water 水. Meanwhile the Water sigil doesn't look like water because the フ on the left is connected even though it shouldn't be.
You knew it had to happen as soon as Dire started putting up his spotlight vids. For what it's worth, I've been commenting on them to try to help out people and clarify things. I managed to actually help at least one person, anyway.
Ah, well. Back to automating all my machinery for lava power off the Serenade of the Nether. (It's a lot harder when it has to be buckets!)
hey. I have encountered a slight bug in the past (after this I stopped really using blood magic for a while, so it may be fixed) but when I made my tier five altar out of increase capacity runes, the capacity didn't increase beyond what I had with tier four. it still registered as a tier five altar, but it didn't increase the capacity past 52000 LP. help???
I get this line output to the console. Is this a problem?
"WARNING: The OreDict-Registration of oreCoal by AWWayofTime is ambiguous. Please check if the Item hasn't already been registered under that Name, before registering it a second time!"
Bug with armor upgrades: Using the Sigil of the phantom bridge to upgrade any piece of armor causes the phantom bridge to spawn waist high instead of at the player's feet, locking them in place unless they jump and constantly hold shift. Spectral blocks should also decay after a set period of time (or faster if they do already), rather than staying until the armor is deactivated, as things can get kind of cluttered quickly.
I'm a huge fan of the mod though! Keep up the good work!
how many pigs would it take starting with a alter with full capacity (no Runes of augmented capacity) and what intervals would i want to sacrifice the pigs if i have 8 speed runes

Do you have Gregtech installed? If so, it's probably just that.
I am curious if you are going to add an instruction manual like the Thauminomicon (sp?) in Thaumcraft. I was thinking about this and while books are cool...tomes are cooler. Have you thought about adding custom NPCs that train the player by selling various tomes?
This mod is so complex that you almost have to look online to figure stuff out. I'd rather have an in game solution to this.

They do usually decay, although I think something about having it put into the armor causes them to not do so.

That depends entirely on what you're trying to infuse. Some things drain the altar faster than others.
Added a few things to the FAQ to clear a few questions that are beings asked a lot. If someone asks one of these questions, please point them to the FAQ!

I really hate to keep asking this, but I can't fix it if I don't know where the problem lies. Is anyone else having any issues with the key of binding? Any answer would be appreciated, even if the answer is "No, I'm not having issues with the key of binding."

Went ahead and tested in creative. Standard key of binding seems to work fine for me mostly. There's a few items it doesn't work for. A few sigils, the sword. Didn't test every single thing. But most things were bound to my network.
Server key testing, and it seems to work just the same. A bit of a shame that the Divination sigil won't bind to the server network, so you can't know how much LP you have.
The only bit of troubleshooting I can offer is making sure the items you're trying to bind aren't already on another network. If it's bound to you, you can't rebind it to the server, I think, etc.
And also the word I've gathered around the mod forums is MCPC tends to not play well with some mods anyway and mod makers seem unconcerned about troubles players have there since they didn't specifically design for it. At least, that's the small bit I've picked up on while not understanding what most of it is all about. But I'd place a good wager on your problem lies there.
im curious. whats the idea behind building spells with blocks? the entire system of customized spell creation is pretty cool, but the fact that youre actually building them with blocks, doesnt have a lot of flavour to it, and seems more like it belongs into a tech mod. at least it seems a bit off with how the rest of the mod works, which has more of an occult magic feel to it. as opposed to thaumcraft, which is basically all about tinkering and building machines with magic.
for example why doesnt the system work basically the way it is, by scribing spells literally into the world? onto the ground, or up walls? where the single blocks that make the spells up in the current system, are runes, that form words, that form the complete spell in the end?
imagine a room with a blood altar in the center, and all around it are various spells written on the walls. imagine it kindof like in skyrim, where you have these rooms with the shouts written all over a wall.
by the way, i love your alchemy system. its a lot of fun.

do you have golems? the decanter can pick up and transport lava (or any forge liquid for that matter). id recommend making him from fireproof materials. i think stone or tallow golems where immune to fire.
but if you set him up correctly, he shouldnt even get into contact with the lava.

I don't yet, I'm way more advanced in Blood Magic than I am in Thaumcraft in my current world. I kinda started with Botania, moved into Blood Magic, and am about to get started building Thaumcraft stuff. (I skip the research because I've done it so much, though, so it's just a matter of getting moving.) I like your idea, but I'm unsure if it'll work - my problem is that I'm trying to automate placing lava inside the EnderIO Stirling Engines (which only accept lava buckets) as well as using lava to automate the production of obsidian (which I can do with the alchemical chemistry set, in theory, but I don't know how well it will work - I assume I need to use the ritual for it, though.)
The problem with the EnderIO engines is that there's no way to pull the lava buckets back out (although perhaps I can with a golem? Hmm...) I have yet to try setting up the obsidian production, as I had originally been planning to use Extra Utilities's version of obsidian creation only to discover that the recipe is nonfunctional last night when I was working on it. I also don't have my T4 altar yet so I can't make Dusk Runes (and won't be for a bit, I'm working on trying to get ghast tears - in this case, I think I'm going to raid the Twilight Forest for an Ur-Ghast spawner to make life easier on myself.) I haven't even been able to make my Air Sigil yet, literally my favorite sigil, because ghasts have been so unkind.
