I have been trying to get this set up on my FTB Unleashed server. I think I have a few basic things set, but this is all new to me!

I believe i gave basic permission for everyone to create towns, and i remove the cost for creating a town, (small family server for testing right now). When i try to create the first town I get this error " [INFO] [Minecraft-Client] [CHAT] [§4SEVERE§f] java.lang.NullPointerException2013-08-31 20:23:02"

I realize I probably have not given enough information to help solve my problem, but i am not sure what else is needed. If anyone could help or let me know what else to provide i would be grateful!

I have a mytownlib.jar in the server mods folder. I am sorry for the confusion but by stack do you mean the server log file?

I've been bumbling blindly in the code for now, and realized yml dislikes tabs and is picky about spaces (after crashing server a dozen times). We're running an FTB server with a handful of people, so for the most part your example really helped and I recommend we get it linked to the first post so others can come here and see it.

The color coding is also something I'm unfamiliar with, but I'll try and slide it in in a sec.

I also tried adding a line for default visitors for 'modifyworld.block.interact..(buttons and carts and stuff)' or something along those lines. Is modifyworld specifically for use with another mod? Or is modifyworld part of MyTown? (Either way it seems to run fine).

The blocks/plots/chunks are default 11, but most of the commands are handled by the admins, so I gave them mytown.* so admins have full access to every command. I did NOT know, however, that you can force some settings for certain ranks of players, so this helps a lot. I will definitely incorporate more of your post when I get the chance to update the yml file again!

I am essentially doing the same thing. I think in the YML file you may have a few tabs instead of spaces or the spaces spaced (nested) incorrectly. I was getting a lot of crashes and [SEVERE] errors until I went through and found everything (blank lines also had tabs instead of spaces... somehow).

Nevermind. The server had default gamemode set to Adventure (no wonder all the non-OPs were having problems!).

That was the issue, I had it set to 0 not 0x264. Now if I can figure out how to set the permissions in game for town/nation
A nation member could not get in my house, not sure why yet, my perm file at the moment is VERY basic and I have not changed the defaults for town/nation/friend. I added him as a friend using /t friend add [name] and running /t perm showed friends have build access, but he cannot open the door!

Thank you!!! I have not assigned any of the plots, which is why the Friend permission did not work, that was the bit I was missing.

The [severe] warning appeared in the chat log in game, I have not been able to find what file logged the chat, which is why I have not posted the 10-20 line you requested, I simply cannot find them.

Hi Lego,

I thought I would make you aware of an issue I had on my FTB Unleashed server.

2 weeks ago my TPS dropped through the floor and I only just fixed it tonight. In a mix of issues MyTown gave my server a huge performance hit. From a clean boot with 1 player online TPS was a 10. After removing MyTown, from clean boot again with 1 player TPS rose back up to around 19.5. Players experienced rubberbanding and block lag, I actually lost a large amount of my playerbase.

I have no idea why it's caused it and I really want to get MyTown back ASAP as the protections are awesome!

Here's my thread on the FTB forums with timings, visualVM snapshot and server environment. Hopefully that will help you out.

Chunks claimed? Probably looking at a few hundred.

How many entities and tile entities? Thousands, probably even tens of thousands, FTB server with many of my players running arrays of 500+ engines just to run the rest of the machines

Some more questions what is your peak players and your average

I was under the impression mytown only checks claimed chunks that are loaded do you allow any form of chunk loading by your players

Also what specs are the server you are running on

I was attempting to download the .jar's, But i cannot find the MyTownLib.jar could someone post the link to the download?

Peak players and average? Currently about 2-3 where it was up around 15

Current Server specs:

i5 4670k @ 4.5GHz
16GB Ram (MC has 10GB)
120GB SSD
1 Gbps port

Yeah, its a somewhat standard thing for an FTB server. Im sort of expecting this issue to crop up a little more in the future.

I'm trying to figure out why my chunkloaders are a problem too. When chunkloaders are set to only run when its owner is online it has a negative impact on the server. Im assuming if i can get things to stop ticking in what should be unloaded chunks then mytown wouldn't have such an issue.

Hello, I have installed mytown on mcpc, using PEX plugin.

When someone chats in game, it shows the mytown chat, and the default MC chat. I am wanting to use mytown chat, how do i keep the default chat from showing?


I am using vault, chestshop, and the basic essentials. I am not using Essentials chat.
