I'm still thinking about how to actually balance the enchantment. Since you can put diamond ore in the furnace (Silk touch OP), the fortune enchantment on the pickaxe would become utterly pointless. I'll give it some more thoughts before implementing it.
It's mods/plugins like this that I love. Simple, yet imaginative and doesn't break the game because it's just extending what already exisits. Nice job man.
Ooh this is a great idea and I'm really tempted, but it feels slightly OP, even after you nerfed it?
Or...?
AH SCREW IT I'M DOWNLOADING THE AWESOMES.
PS. I'm probably just really thick but I don't get the "several reasons not to Forgealize"-image?
I can't really do anything to counter the OPness, but still, I nerfed it really bad. .-.
So, why I don't really want to do a Forge port :
1. I hate the thing. The idea is really good, but really can't say I like the way it is done.
2. Forge needs to have a Client Side and a Server Side mod beacause I overwrite the furnace Item. This enter in conflict with the next point.
3. On the client, since I modify the furnace to a Tool instead of a Block to be able to enchant it, Forge decides for whatever reason to render the furnace as a ... thing ... I really can't release something like this.
4. The only way to fix the rendering problem is either change completly the enchantment system or create a new item. The first way will create conflicts with other mods as quickly as possible. The second way is just plainly stupid : There is already mods that add quick furnaces.
I'm confused by the installation instructions. Do you mean the .jar file in the versions folder? Because I just did a clean install of Minecraft and noticed that the game doesn't download the bin folder anymore.

Works great I was able to use this mod. Somewhat new to modding but your mod is actually working on my server. >.> Can't seem to figure out how to use other mods or use Forge in general.
If you wish to do a Spotlight of this mod, I'll gladly put it here.
Showcases :
1.6.2 (SSP & SMP) : Download
Forge 1.6.2 (SSP & SMP) : Download
Bukkit 1.5.2 : Download
SSP : Extract into your minecraft.jar, delete META-INF. (Basic mod installation, you know that)
SMP : Extract into your minecraft_server.jar, don't delete META-INF. The player's client doesn't need the mod.
Forge : Put the .zip into your mods folder. The server and the client need to have it for Multiplayer.
Bukkit : Place into your plugins directory.

Didn't thought you followed my stuff, Brock. =P
It could be done, but only on SSP, since the mod is server-side only for SMP.

Just check the "Changelog and older versions" section of the thread. There is a 1.5.2 version.

Install like any mod. You put the content of the zip inside the minecraft.jar or the new launcher equivalent "1.6.2.jar". If you don't know how to mod with the new launcher :

Forge 1.6.2 (SMP only) : Download
I can't seem to run Forge outside of Eclipse. Someone mind starting a forge server with the mod ? I gotta sleep and work tomorrow.
See ya.
When I load up a world and play for about a minute, the sound suddenly fails. As in, no sounds for anything.
Other Mods:
Modloader
Misc of Risugami's mods (No Audiomod)
Craftable Horse Armor
However: I have deducted this as the problem mod.
