i'm really liking the dungeons i found so far,especially with infernal mobs,they're so hard.

I gather you're confused because of the jar injection install instructions. Those have been there since before I made a forge version of the mod. They're no longer necessary since the people who want a jar injected version probably know how to install that way, so I've deleted those instructions to stem this sort of confusion.

(Should I tell him that if he leaves the dungeon, wanders off, and then returns, all the mobs will go poof? Or that he could just ignore the stairs and tunnel down from elsewhere? Or is he playing with those tactics considered "unfair"?)

This collection of mods is working out so well, I am thinking of setting up a server for it, so others who like this kind of thing can try it out. I am managing a big IT project at work which means I won't have the time to do this until after it goes live, in the middle of July but once that is done, I will get to work on it.

As for tunneling, yeah, it's a part of the game. It's kind of left up to the player whether or not you want to give yourself the luxury of tunneling. If you really want to make it hard on yourself then set yourself up a superflat preset with bedrock up to Y50.
Everything behind the walls of the dungeon just becomes solid bedrock. It's kinda cool.

Tunneling, mining in and around the dungeon, it's all good, but frankly more dangerous than the corridors - thanks Father Toast for all the lovely feesh and creeper spawners and TNT traps and lava and... well you get the idea.

Here's the fun part - there are several zombie spawners in range of the route to the stairs, and thanks to the mods I have, in the time it takes to walk down the corridor normally, the level below (which is unlit) fills up again - at least one of them must be a Deadly World spawner, it is so fast.
So ... tunnel down, at an angle, let the TNT spawners explode down below you, and drop lava down into the room below you. Right?
Silverfish? Well, you put the lava down first, and then aim your pickaxe through the lava. When you can't dig farther, pick up the source, let it drip down a bit, and then replace the source.

The dungeon spiral stairs are terrible, hard for the player to navigate while providing mobs an easy path. Very trolly.
The spiral stairs were an easy solution to the problem of how to make steps to the next level from the previous one. I wanted steps for the sake of flavor.
The steps really do leave you pretty vulnerable to the mobs for a variety of reasons. I also think they kinda look cool, personally.
Holy F*** I remember using this mod before and I liked it, especially one of the rooms which was basically a Yin-yang alter, love that room and want to find it again, but damn, reinstalling it and playing it I can not even get past the first floor since the two rooms next to the stairs have spawners that send out like 5 mobs each. Defiantly a lot more challenging and the tower is no longer very homey. Challenge accepted. I WILL find the Yin-Yang room again (Unless it was removed TT^TT)
Does this mod work with ATG? I have ATG (and a few other mods) added to the Crack Pack. Everything else seems to work fine but after flying around for 15 minutes in a creative world, I can't find a RL dungeon. This could just be bad luck, but please, do you know if they are "compatible"?

Probably just bad luck. The pack devs wanted the dungeons to be fairly rare, and the dungeons are scattered somewhat irregularly. As long as there's a place for the dungeon to spawn it'll spawn.

Todays exercise for students in business schools studying to be future captains of industry: multiply the times of both installs by your estimate of my hourly rate of pay (hint: it isn't minimum wage) and then give me a sound economic justification for specifying MS products in a business environment.
Now if only relogic would make a native version of terraria for linux. :-(
I have a question, can you make the laudanum give regen 2 for 10 seconds or instant health 2? (i like the laudanum for 1.6.4, and it makes me sad that the laudanum now in 1.7 is just nausea)

Step 1: Get forge.
Step 2: Put this mod's zip file into the forge "mods" folder.
Done.

When I redid the tower I didn't put the furnishings back.
