This is now the OPP:OMG pack. Which means Over Powered Pack:Oh My God, basically because I am sure I will get atleast 1 person claiming that these blocks are in some way over powered. This is true to some degree as In many cases these blocks do what they were not meant to do. Yet at the same time, some of these blocks SHOULD have been designed this way. There are about 14 blocks now, I have about 20 planned altogether. Most are furnace types, however they all, IMHO, are improvements to the original blocks.
These are now being updated to 1.6.4 and also 1.7.x when those versions arrive. Also I am no longer a one man team on this project...I have a new member making this a two man team...
TheShadowFrostz has joined me in the development of these blocks, he is bringing lots of skill and creativity to the project and I believe these blocks will be more functional and free of bugs and any errors that were effecting the functionality of them.
All these Blocks are individually downloadable and all work well together as I have designed them all in the same eclipse workspace. Basically each block is its own mod, so here are the mods....
First lets talk about the basic parts of the mod, the hammer, the saw, and the nails. As we all now most things in life are created using tools, especially when crafting or producing material, so why not in minecraft too. The Better Table is a 5x5 grid that can craft anything the normal table can, and in some cases a bit better. In most wood crafted items though these three basic components are needed. So lets look at how these items are crafted first, they are crafted using the normal table or workbench in MC...
Crafting the Saw, Hammer and Nails
Using these items you can now create the Better Table like this.... Better Table
As I said the Better Table can craft all the same stuff the workbench can, however the wood crafted items and blocks are now done in a more logical approach, with a hammer, saw and nails. Here is a gif image showing all the new updated crafting recipes in the better table, anything not shown here is crafted in a normal way.
The hammer, nails and saw are no longer crafted on this table...
1.6.2 Better Table version 0.2.0 and Forge version 789 mediafire
High Speed Furnace
The High Speed Furnace is basically the same as the regular furnace, however it smelts 4 times faster, however this also means it consumes fuel 4 times faster as well. So with that in mind be sure to have plenty of fuel on hand as you will need it. Below is an image of how to craft the furnace... High Speed Furnace
1.6.2 High Speed Furnace version 0.2.0 and Forge 789 mediafire
Next we have another furnace, this one however uses lava as a fuel source, so long as there is lava below the furnace you can smelt what ever, when ever you want. It also smelts anything the normal furnace does, there are no new recipes for either the High Speed Furnace or the Lava Furnace, so there is really nothing to say about either, other than how to craft and what it uses as fuel or how fast it burns... Lava Furnace
1.6.2 Lava Furnace version 0.2.0 and Forge 789 mediafire
The Spirit Table is simply an enchantment table that requires no XP to get your enchantments. Instead you craft them using various things you may have earned or have plenty of in your inventory. I never liked the idea of using XP levels to get an enchantment on your items, especially multiples of the same enchanted item. So I came up with this... Spirit Table
1.6.2 Spirit Table version 0.2.0 and Forge 789 mediafire
The Forge is essentially an anvil without the XP level requirements. Like the Spirit Table, You craft your repairs using parts of the resources needed to make the items to begin with. All weapons, tools and armor found in vanilla minecraft are repairable using this mod Forge
1.6.2 Forge (anvilCraft) version 0.2.0 and Forge 789 mediafire
This is a portable work bench, there are a few others but this one will be different. I have some ideas for it, not quite sure yet how I will implement them, but for the moment its just a crafting table. Its basically just a portable item that when right clicked will open a crafting table GUI....Sorry no pics yet.
1.6.2 Portable Work Bench version 0.2.0 and Forge 789 mediafire
This furnace is awesome. It still needs a few tweaks and some other adjustments but for now I will post what I have. It runs on red stone power, though in this case a redstone lamp. I am working on making it receive red power instead so it will actually be a red stone furnace and not a red lamp furnace. Once again for this I have no pics yet, should have pics this weekend and maybe a video if I can figure out how to do videos....
1.6.2 Red Furnace version 0.2.0 and Forge 789 mediafire
As the name would imply this furnace is powered by the sun. So basically you can use this furnace during the day only and only in direct sunlight. So if it is raining or dark or will not be on and you can not smelt with it. Once again pics are coming....
1.6.2 Solar Furnace version 0.2.0 and Forge 789 mediafire
Coming Soon.....this furnace will require a block of water either flowing or still under the furnace and coal or wood for supportive fuel. Without water this will not work as you can not make steam with out water...this is not quite finished yet, I am having trouble getting this one to work....
Two Input Furnace
I will be posting only the src code here for this one, as it is basically a useless mod without adding a bunch of new material to the game to make use of it. So I will be sharing what I have with the modders on this one....
Swiss Minning Block
This will be my favorite table, not quite ready yet as there are a few issues with this one to work out yet. However this is going to be a miners dream block as you will not need to have any torches around for it in the mines to see, just attach a lever to it and turn it on. It is also a crafting table and a furnace all in one. This will have a price tag to it though and will not be nice to your inventory, it will be balanced though and not too costly. After all though it is three blocks in one....
This is by far one of the most fun experiences of my modding. Making these blocks was well worth the effort, even if only two people download it. This has a config file for the few blocks and items contained in the mod just as each of my mods. I have a few more recipes needed to be completed for the Better Table, and the Spirit Table, other wise this mod is complete, just as I intended it to be, there really is nothing else I plan to add to this, other than to update it from time to time as each MC version comes along. Should I find new things to make in the way of crafting, I will add them then, also if MC adds anything new in the way of crafting, I will add my own twist to it, or remove the need for XP points should they require it......
Thanks, just leave a comment here and I will post the video in the main op.....thanks again for the good word, I still have some work to do for it, and will do so and get an update to it as soon as possible...
Thanks for the video, Awesome!!! I like it a lot its very informative and thorough. There are lots of good points to fix thanks for that. I dont really have any beta testers, but seeing the mod in the video on another oc I can see or at least hear of the bugs and try to fix them. The 5x5 issue does not exist on my pc, I am using a 32 inch tv and I can only assume that most of the users of the mod will not be. Also the spirit table bug hasnt been tested for either. I really dont think to check for shift clicking as I dont, again the use of beta testers would probably be help ful so I am thinking of asking all those who make the better much more informative mod reviews to be my testers. This would help a lot, as you guys making the videos test a lot of mods and use probably twice as many for reviews. So drop me a line if you make a video or want to, and you might get to help test out the mod for me, usually two to three days before release.
You sure make a lot of good mods
Is there a way to change the recipes? It conflicts with Balkon's Weapon Mod (Katana)
Perhaps create the x5 crafting table another way?
By the way, this mod reminds me of Extended Workbench and Better Than Wolves's anvil
Thanks, I try to make things no one else is doing, or a similar mod with a new twist. Like better gems and ores. I wanted it to be more than just a gem mod. More like a stepping stone to other mods. Instead of the other mod making the same ore or item I have, they could use mine and maybe change textures or what have you. Using the ore dictionary forge has, I registered everything in the mod, except the armor and swords. I plan to use metadata in the future to lower the block and item ids being used. With this mod here, I plan to finish the spirit table soon for all enchantments for iron and above items, might even work in some config options for other non enchantable items... I also plan to add options for the anvil to allow for the player to choose what items can and cant be fixed and even add support for custom items.
Could you maybe add a pic of the conflicting recipe, I may be willing to change it altogether.
The 5x5 table should be fixed, I have tested it many times in and out of full screen and start up and shut down of the game many times to make sure it didnt go all sideways. The slots are just a bit off, I am going to fix that too. As for any conflicting recipes, my mod uses a hammer, saw and nails for the crafting of the bench and I am not sure why it would conflict. Just post any results you have found and check to make sure it is not an id conflict instead. I have seen other mods that have had similar comments and it usually turns out to be an id conflict. I also plan to finish the spirit table recipes for the 1.6.2 update coming soon.
The individual furnaces and tables are now mostly posted. Pics and crafting pics will be up later today and any extra useful information I can offer will also be available. Please leave comments on the blocks I have made and also and especially if you feel they are overpowered so I can make more at an even more overpowered rate......Have fun and enjoy these awesome furnaces and tables....
Lets all welcome TheShadowFrostz to the team... he is currently updating the blocks to 1.6.4 and will also help with 1.7.x when it arrives. He is doing an amazing job and has also made serious progress on the steam furnace...should be available soon...
