Somebody help me when I install animationAPI and mutant creature mod run with forge but it mess up all data in my
world change it become like worst the grass block turn into a green block and many things change I try to change it with
super secret settings but the normal is still that look is it because my computer is slow or any other problems?
I'm running 1.7.2
While programming with the API, I noticed that the animations by default interrupt mob movement and other AI tasks. Does anyone know of a way to set animation tasks to execute simultaneously with other AI tasks, and even with each other?
Do I actually need the API to run the mod? Also does this mod work if you go on a server and no one else has it? I'm a bit new to modding and I wanted to know a few things. Thanks
Have you searched for hours and hours, looking for a way to properly animate your entities? Well look no further! The AnimationAPI is a mini-library that allows modders to (more) easily animate their entities.
Information
Although the AnimationAPI is supposed to be easier for modders to use, it still is quite complicated, so a tutorial has been made to guide you modders along the way. For other information, you can check the rest of the wiki.
Examples
Can't believe unless you see it? Check out these photos and a video by ThnxCya of some of my animated mutant creatures.
Installation For users:
Locate .minecraft
>> Click Start and type %appdata% into the Search area
>> Click the folder that is called Roaming
>> Find the folder inside called .minecraft
Move the mod zip file to .minecraft/mods
Play!
For modders:
Download the src files
Extract the src zip
Move the folder called 'thehippomaster' inside MCP's src/minecraft/ directory
Animate your entities!
Requires Forge. Please note the AnimationAPI must be installed in servers as well.

Why Is You Name The Hippo Master 12?? why are you the master of the hippos or something???
Well... Errm theres a modpack question i have for you... Well you see I'm thinking about adding ars magica to my modpack and on it's post it says i just need to add a link to the mod and give credit to mithion and such... but it requires AnimationAPI, or at least the latest version. And from what i understand from the license i need your permission to add this to the modpack just so i can add Ars Magica 2... Is this the case here? and if so then may i have permission for use of a modpack?

I don't see anything in the main post about modpacks. Are mod pack creators allowed to use this in modpacks considering that other mods are going to be built off of it that are giving permissions? (Ars Magica 2 for instance) If so, can you please state that in the main post so that we can provide the link to our respective ModPack administrators?

Agreed with magius96... Us modpack creators need this information. Also for my example i want to use Ars Magica 2 and the license there says i can use it in a modpack. but there ISN'T any license here so does this mean i should assume that yes i can use it with Ars Magica 2? or no i still need to ask for the modder for the permissions just to use the other mod in witch I don't need to.

There will always be that kind of a moment at least once in everyone's life. That moment when your sitting there listening to someone going down memory lane, but really not listening at all.
Unfortunately, what that means is that we CAN use Ars Magica 2, but we CAN NOT use AnimationAPI until they give us permission. And since AM2 depends on AnimationAPI, that defaults to us not being able to use AM2 either. I've spoken to Mithion and he's agreed to try and contact thehippomaster21 to see if we can get a resolution to this soon.
Technically we could take this "Use of this MOD to be installed, manually or automatically, is given to the USER without restriction." from the license to mean that we are allowed to use AnimationAPI in modpacks, but that is so vague that it wouldn't stand up in court, so I won't risk it.
Quote from magius96»Unfortunately, what that means is that we CAN use Ars Magica 2, but we CAN NOT use AnimationAPI until they give us permission.
You most certainly Can use AnimationAPI, Permission has been granted in Section 3 of the copyright. I suggest you read it more closelyer.
Technically we could take this "Use of this MOD to be installed, manually or automatically, is given to the USER without restriction."
Technically no you can not.
It Specifically uses the term USER. When you install the mod on your client, for your own personal, private modpack you fall under the terms of Section 2. When you begin to redistribute the mod, whether it's via a zip file, dropbox, or FTB Launcher, you fall under Section 3. You must get written permission from the mod author to include this API in a modpack that you intend to redistribute.
HOWEVER, the one workaround I see, if you really don't want to ask the guy for permission to mirror it yourself, is to use the ATLauncher's manual install feature. This gives your User the ability to download and install the mod from this forum page.
