I can assure you, the last thing we want it to update to 1.7. We're working on 1.6.4 right now!
Hail, Collin. I've read on the Aether's facebook page that they want to go straight 1.7. There wasn't anything there that suggests they/you (since I'm still not totally sure if you work in the Aether team or not ) won't update to 1.6.4 but I'm just making sure.
Well, we/I actually don't know. We've been working on 1.6.4, but I don't know if we're releasing it or waiting until 1.7 (and I don't want to speak for the team)
1.7 changed a TON of stuff, and will probably take us a while to get done. I would assume they would want a 1.6.4 release. As for me becoming a dev in the team, I haven't seen them post anything about it, and quite frankly, would rather have it that way then get a bunch of people messaging me.
Really glad to hear that you are on the team Collin1971!
I am concerned with the last Facebook entry the dev team made. They stated that the current dev team would port Aether to 1.7 and then hand it over to new devs after that. Nothing about 1.6.4.
I think it will take a long time for everyone to port to 1.7. Not just Forge or other mods. Things like MCPC+ will take even longer. In all that time if there was no Aether II update we would be stuck with the handful of critical bugs still present and unable to move to 1.6.4. A 1.6.4 bug fix release, it would help a great deal.
Again, congrats on becoming part of the Aether team!

Is there a way to get a world with the old dungeons, like the valkyrie temples? I have tried to select Aether I in the Menu list, but the world got genereated with Aether II dungeons.
I'm trying to edit the mod files for personal use with a few friends on a private server (not for any form of distribution, of course) and I can't find a way to do so without the mod correcting itself, since it automatically downloads the resources with the launcher. Is there any way to stop it from updating every time you run it?
Just in case you wanted to know, we're editing it so that the Zephyrs either can't attack or don't exist... At this point they're just obnoxious and game-breaking, so for the moment we're trying to enjoy the mod without dealing with them. If anybody can help me, it would be greatly appreciated.
The launchers don't seem to work... Running the Jar yields a command prompt window that says "Could not find or load main class C:/(location of jar)/launcher-start.jar" and running the EXE doesn't do anything...

Ah well sad that you don't know ^^ I was just making sure if should I even bother with 1.6.4 or stay on 1.6.2 or do something different etc etc.
By the way, just a little information, I think the only thing that needs to be updated to 1.6.4 (not taking the bugfixes in mind) is just the playercoreapi, since the 1.6.2 aether works fine on 1.6.4, it's just when you create a world it spits a crash related to the api, so I guess if in the end you really won't want to update the aether for 1.6.4 maybe you will consider updating only the api (i'm no modder but it seems 10 times easier to do)
In any way, good luck to the aether team with their project you do a very good job and I like it!
Just set a different ID in one of the configs (remember to use only up to 4096, unless it's item ID then you have a few 10's of thousands, i'm not totally sure but I think up to 32000 or so)

I'm experiencing an interesting issue with the Falling Meteors Mod. The error is caused by them alien creepers as well. Try to download DrZhark's Custommobspawner or some spawn changer mod and inside it's gui edit it so that alien creepers won't spawn in the Aether
Aether II + Tinkers Construct.
Both of you guys are adding a new UI with extra slots for capes, rings and things.
Please please please allow us the option of disabling the Aether II 'extended' character sheet or make a plan with Forge to get character sheet changes registered so players can choose which mod is going to offer ring, amulet and cape slots.
This is a fantastic mod, I must say. I loved playing the 1.2.5 version of the original Aether, in which I had to downgrade in order to play, but now I can enjoy it in 1.5.2 and over. However I've encountered a problem. I play both the Shurtugal mod and Lord of the Rings mod as well as this, but it will cause Minecraft to crash once I start it up directly after the logo appears. I've figured that if I remove the Lord of the Rings mod from the 'mods' folder and replace it with the Aether it'll work fine, and I am okay with doing so, I just don't want to keep on switching them both out. I also checked the error as well, apparently LOTR and Aether are conflicting. This is the error message:

*sigh* If you'd read the bottom of the last page, you will see that in those kinds of errors you go to either the aether config, or the conflicting mod's config (LotR mod in your case) and change the ID's of the conflicting blocks...
They could, but they would have to add more stuff since previous 1.3 versions used resources instead of assets and bin instead of versions.
Do you know if the Aether dev team has decided to make the 1.6.2.3 release using MC 1.6.4 as you hinted at on this forum or MC 1.7 as they had previously hinted at on Facebook?
I'd talked to them, and there WILL be a 1.6.4 release. It's going to take Forge and MCP a good week or two to update to 1.7, and another 2-3 weeks for us to update the Aether to 1.7. So in the meantime there will be a 1.6.4 release. That's all I can say for the most part though.
Awesome Collin! Such a good news, brighten me up a little while im in a bad mood

Both of you guys are adding a new UI with extra slots for capes, rings and things.
Please please please allow us the option of disabling the Aether II 'extended' character sheet or make a plan with Forge to get character sheet changes registered so players can choose which mod is going to offer ring, amulet and cape slots.
// Quite honestly, I wouldn't worry myself about that.

Do you know if the Aether dev team has decided to make the 1.6.2.3 release using MC 1.6.4 as you hinted at on this forum or MC 1.7 as they had previously hinted at on Facebook?
Awesome Collin! Such a good news, brighten me up a little while im in a bad mood
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
That is all I asked for and need to know. It will help greatly in planning what our upgrade path is for our server.
