READ THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY BEFORE POSTING
I created this mod due to popular demand for it after I posted some of my GUI work on /r/minecraft last week (you can see that here.)
This is just the GUI portion of a really big mod that I'm currently working on. Hopefully I'll have some more information on that mods soon, but for now I thought I'd release this.
Installation
Novamenu is a coremod for Minecraft Forge. You need to have an installation of Minecraft modded with Forge for Minecraft 1.6.4 before you can install Novamenu. I may look into making Novamenu not dependent on Forge in the future, but for now Forge is a requirement.
Please make sure that your modded Minecraft works before attempting to install Novamenu. I don't want you coming here to report errors caused by a broken Forge installation.
If you have Forge installed and working, download Novamenu here. (version 1.1.4 for MC 1.6.4)
Drop the .jar file into the "mods" folder inside your ".minecraft" folder.
Novamenu does NOT use any base class edits. This means that it is (in theory) 100% compatible with other Forge mods. However, trying to install this mod alongside another GUI mod may lead to unexpected results. Don't do that and expect it to work.
If you have any problems or other questions, don't hesitate to post here!

Screenshots (warning, big images)
Here's some screenshots of Novamenu.
Compatibility
Version 1.0.3 of Novamenu adds a configuration file so that you can make some mods that would normally conflict with Novamenu work properly.
You can find the configuration file at ".minecraft/config/Novamenu.cfg".
If you have a mod that modifies the Video Settings menu (BESIDES Optifine, I make that work by default), edit the entry labeled "useCustomVideoSettingsMenu" to say "false" instead of "true".
If you have a mod that modifies the general Options menu or related submenus, edit the entry labeled "useCustomOptionsMenu" to say "false" instead of "true".
If you have a mod that modifies the Create World screen (such as BWG4), edit the entry labeled "useCustomCreateWorldMenu" to say "false" instead of "true".
If you need to use the default pause menu, edit the entry labeled "useCustomIngameMenu" to say "false" instead of "true" (new as of v1.1.2).
This covers most of the cases I've been seeing. If you have compatibility issues that aren't solved by these instructions, post in the thread and I'll see what I can do.
Credits and Other Info
This mod was developed and designed entirely by me, voidzm. I'm not interesting in taking on additional people to work on this or other projects.
I do not want this mod included in PUBLIC modpacks. Please do not ask me. You can use this in private modpacks for your own purposes (such as private modded servers, etc.)
Seems interesting, how would you change the background images of the menu screens?
If you can open up the .jar file, the background images are stored at /mods/novamenu/textures/gui/bg*.png. You still need to have six of them, and they all need to be the same resolution (they are all 960x540 by default, but as long as they are all the same res, you can change that too). You should just be able to swap those out with your own and have it loop those instead.
i like the look of this, have been using fancy GUI for a while now and like the better transparencies this menu provides.
i will third the NEI Crash too
i also got another crash in the 'mods' menu, triggered the crash when opening the optifine info http://pastebin.com/MYQrNN2H
just a few minor suggestions to your mod:
- add the option for the screenshots folder to be used and a folder to put extra screens in that either completely replace or work with the default screens(opening the jar file is too difficult for most users and is not how it should be done)
- support for Friends overlay(it will be just another button to add)
- a continue button that loads up the last used world
thats the kind of gui i like to see modern and transparant
i find out todat when cheking redit via my magiclauncher that you released it (saw in the past a sreenshot from it and i tought thats some mod i want to install)
too bad its for forge only now because some mods dont work well together with forge installed but i use less mods now so i might trie it out.
good work and good luck with making it non forge.
Forge is amazing, i don't know what beef you could possibly have with it...
Sorry if it's obvious, but where is the download link? Thanks!
try reading the whole post next time, it's in the installation spoiler. doing this will also save the inevitable post where it's crashed because you put it in the mods folder instead of the coremods folder.
i swear there is like 2% of users who actually take the time to read the entire original post...
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
"why didn't i do that? because that would make sense."
Looking at your log, it appears that NEI is actually throwing the first error by failing to locate a class in its ASM transformation code, and that is in turn causing my ASM code to fail when it can't rely on that vanilla code being present. Are you sure that this does not get thrown when Novamenu is not installed?
So, I dropped the jar into my coremods folder, but when launched, the GUI appeared on a white background, and when looking through my files, it seems that it never created a folder in the mods folder with the images in it. Any idea on how to fix it?

Seems to work ingame though
That's really bizarre. I have absolutely no idea why those images would be missing.
Try downloading the mod again. If you can, extract the mod before you reinstall it and verify that the "mods" directory does, in fact, exist.

I don't know if this would be a cause, but what is your OpenGL level/number/thingy
Hello! When I install the mod, Minecraft works just fine, The MOJANG logo appears, but when I get to the title screen, The Background is white, where the minecraft logo is supposed to be is also white, what do I do?

Will any of these do it?
One more question: will texture packs mess with it?
