I have released a new update! Version 2.6 of BetterCraft mod.
I've tweaked the mob drops and I've changed the recipe of iron trapdoors! It now uses 4 iron ingots.
Lambchop dropped from sheep is now affected by Looting and also if they're killed while on fire, they drop cooked lamb chops!
I've changed plenty of pictures so you now get the idea of what's inside! There are many more!
Plus, Netherwood chests now have distinct purple textures although it faces the wrong way in inventory. I'm looking into making it face the right way, like chests and ender chests.
I'm still holding off on 1.7 and I'm still waiting for Forge to use 1.7.4, or 1.7.5. I prefer 1.7.6 once it comes out. I can't upgrade BetterCraft to use 1.7.2 due to the flipped textures bug that's irritating me so much. So yeah, it's pretty much remaining on 1.6.4 until Forge gets updated.
Also, if you have any modpacks for Minecraft 1.6.4, I would gladly be appreciated if you add my BetterCraft mod to your modpack!

Have you used the ore dictionary for stuff like rubies yet? The ore dictionary is very important if you want the mod to be compatible with other mods that use rubies, like ic2 or project red.

Btw, I think the wither-bone recipe should use coal instead of obsidian, since wither skellys drop coal.
I've never heard of ore dictionary but I did some research. I might plan to use it somewhere in version 2.7 of BetterCraft.
Good idea. I will replace it with coals in version 2.7.
For now, I want to focus on fixing things. I found a bug that if Ender Dragon is killed, it crashed the server and didn't drop the armour. I am also looking into fixing the orientation of Netherwood chest held in inventory, it's facing the other way that normal and ender chests usually face.
If all things go well, I might start experimental version for Forge for Minecraft 1.7 or later. I prefer to use 1.7.5/1.7.6 though as the flipped textures bug in 1.7.2 irritates me.

The ore dictionary can be kinda tricky at times, especially since there's no official format, but here's what I recommend for registering your blocks and items as.
Block of Rotten Flesh -> blockFlesh
Block of Gunpowder -> blockGunpowder
...etc for other blocks.
BetterCraft mod has been updated to version 2.6.1.
I've managed to fix the crash in SMP if Ender Dragon is killed. Tested in SMP test server and good to go!
I've changed the recipe for wither bone as well, using coals instead of obsidian.

Anyway, you probably get the idea now, so good luck
Recipe has been changed to use coal instead of obsidian.
I've made some internal changes to the mod to prepare the mod to utilize ore dictionary. So far, I got most of the blocks and resource items defined, including ruby ore, blocks and gem. However, tools and armour aren't. Keep in mind that the storage blocks are made using vanilla materials, since this mod expands upon vanilla content. The blocks themselves aren't vanilla.
I might even consider adding new bed that is made using bones in place of wood planks and optionally, rotten flesh in place of wool. If I want to, I might even add configuration for hardcore recipe that changes the recipe to use block of bones to make it harder. I can't guarantee the bed.
Keep in mind, this is new and the mod may or may not work. Lots of code has changed and it took me several days. Combined with procrastination, despite 1.7 to 1.8 being the longest so far, the mod didn't get updated to 1.7. Until now. I skipped 1.7.2 as it's buggy.
Enjoy the new mod update!
Quote from Xbony2»I think the netherwood chest's texture is off, if you compare it to the normal chest's texture...
Can you please explain how it's off? It matches Netherwood planks texture.
Just to let you know that the mod thread is undergoing reconstruction to be cleaner and more up-to-date. Some things got outdated. I've decided to rename the mod to MoreCraft since it focuses on adding more Minecraft-friendly stuff.
And if you want to add the mod to modpack, go ahead!
I've found a couple of bugs and I will hopefully fix it in v2.7. I'll figure out how to fix the nether brick fence gate so fences properly connect to it.

Can you make a 1.7.2 version?

Admittedly I was not expecting that results....it can't be right, I for one have to much a hero complex for that to be right and two: I am one of the most Pessimistic people around.....yea I have no idea how I got Mew.....
Now I got it, this is the Pokemon I would be. And I am not just saying that because I like Mewtwo, I really am a lot like Mewtwo.
Can you make the doors in this mod compatible with MalisisDoors? And I'll use it in my modpack, maybe.

Unfortunately, I have no plans for 1.7.2 version. The flipped textures irritate me. That's the reason. I don't want to do the workarounds, too much effort.
I really like this mod, it makes crafting easier and it saves also lot space!
Also i like the new added stuff in it, especially the ruby ore. Actually i wonder if it would be also possible to add saphirre in? And if you could do more stuff with Obsidian, like make them to bricks and such? And if there would be also a way to "craft" the netherwood sapling (like craft a sapling with a Nether-item?). Just throwing some ideas in tho ;3
I for sure can't wait to see more stuff being added in this mod to make life little bit easier for every crafter 8D
Bedrock tools and armor have been added, it's intended for server ops or if you want to test some things out. It has 96% defense.
Malisis Doors support have been added. The mod is optional but if installed, doors will animate. Use caution as installing the mod might mess up your saves.
Obsidian bricks are something I might be adding. Given the fact that the mod adds bedrock bricks for fancy indestructible blocks, I might add obsidian bricks too.
At the moment, I have no current plans for sapphires as the mod makes more use of vanilla items and I intend the mod to expand greatly on vanilla stuff.
Netherwood sapling crafting is something I have been thinking but that will only create some inconsistencies as vanilla saplings cannot be crafted, only harvested.

That's a pretty good update, and speaking of Netherwood, can you make the Netherwood Leaves more compatible with BetterFoilage? If Better Leaves are turned on by that mod, the Netherwood Leaves appear as, well, black voidy nothingness..

In the code, full set of obsidian armor gives 22 armor points, for 88% defense. However, I don't know if defense points above 20 get counted.

@broluigi you don't need permission to host this on a server. The EULA actually forbids taking away permission for that
Modpacks are a different story though, if that's what you mean.

I'll see what I can do.
While the mods themselves can run alongside each other, the door added by my mod does not currently animate.
I might try to add some sort of compatibility. It might take effort.
I have some plans when Minecraft Forge does get updated for 1.8.1. Guardian meat and scales will be the new items.
Also i like the new added stuff in it, especially the ruby ore. Actually i wonder if it would be also possible to add saphirre in?
