I have finally updated my BetterCraft mod for 1.6.1!
Unfortunately, several features had to be temporarily removed. This is an unstable release. I will work on fixing over the course of several weeks. Blaze tools are missing texture because of changes to resource packs.
Feel free to help me by fixing the texture. I would gladly appreciate it.
Cool mod.
I'm using the Unstable 1.6.1 version and my game crashed when an enderman dropped a head item.
Just letting you know so you can fix it <3
Thanks for reporting. I will get many bugs fixed then I can release 2.5a2, hoping to move to 2.5b1 when I fix the textures and bugs.
Expect the return of features in 2.5b1, including the Netherwood.
Plus I'm testing Ender Brick slabs. It currently has 1 issue: Right-clicking on top slab while holding a slab only puts the gap between the slabs, doesn't make them full block.
Great news. I have released an update that should fix many issues and re-added most of the removed features.
If you have any knowledge of fixing the animation, feel free to edit the code for animation. I will gladly appreciate it.
The crash on killing Enderman is fixed now. Also Enderman rarely drop diamonds now.
I decided to add recipe to craft horse armour and for testing, I added chain armour recipe, use iron bars (Bars, not ingots), to craft. Seeing as it may be too cheap, I may change or remove the recipe later.
For your information, the mod edits 15 base class files so there may be some incompatibilities with Forge.
Cool great job! shame your not getting more posts....
I'd love too help if I could.
I can't code for sh_t tho.
I could try making higher quality texture packs for your mod?
Or making any block/item textures you need in the future?
I have experience with drawing in Manga studio which works
just as well as photoshop

Anyway cool story I started a new world got myself some stone tools then walked into this huge cave.
And too my suprise there where 3 endermen right in front of me....like having a circle jerk I nearly had a
heart attack....lol..
PS: I'm a big fan of decorative Blocks/Items if you need any ideas
I have finally updated the mod to version 2.5b1! It's no longer in Alpha now. It's in Beta now!
+Re-added Netherwood Trees! It now generate in Nether again! And it's more common than before!
+Abandoned Nether Mineshaft is back for now.
*Enderdragon tweaked! If she destroys a block, it gets dropped. She also now drop Enderdragon Scale armour!
*Fixed the blocks animation and Blaze textures.
*Witches can open door now.
*Zombies now target passive mobs, pigs run from zombies.
*Zombies and Skeletons no longer burn under the sun on Hard mode.
*Netherwood Leaves now decay properly.

Go ahead. I do think Flesh block could use a bit of change. You can go ahead and edit textures in the mod however you like.
I came up with some Ideas
I'll probably make some textures for them in a couple of days
just let me know if you want them in the mod.
(1) Slime Block
(2) Cement Crafted by smelting Gravel
(3) Sandstone Bricks: Like the big ones you see at the front of houses
(4) Nether rack Block: I'll post a design
(5) Flint Tools: Probably a bit of overkill on the tool part but would be nice.
(6) More uses for Emeralds, Soulsand, & Flint
(7) Not sure about the bone tools.
the armors cool. Maybe have a special bone sword
Here's the changelog of v2.5b2.
+Added Netherwood chest, crafted with 8 Netherwood Planks!
+Added Nether Brick Fence Gate! Crafted with Nether Brick item in place of sticks and Nether Brick block in place of wooden planks. Fence and walls also connect! (This requires edit of 2 base classes)
*Sheep now drop Lambchop on death.
*Changed Chain armour recipe, now uses Iron Ingots and Iron Bars. Recipe is up for you to find out! Recipe is still not finalized yet and is subject to change.
I will keep the download link for 1.6.1. The mod for 1.6.1 is no longer updated, last version is v2.5b1. However, it's stable.
Updated the mod to version 2.5b3 for Minecraft 1.6.2!
+Added Netherwood Slab. Craft it the same way as other slabs. Currently doesn't stack into full blocks.
*Fixed Netherwood sapling turning into water if left to grow on its own.
*Spider now drop spider.
Just to let you know that this mod won't work with Forge. It's not the mod's fault, it's Forge's fault for blocking any modifications to the jar file. It's incompatible with any Forge mods.
It should be compatible with some ModLoader mods.
If you still use 1.5.2, you still can use BetterCraft alongside with Forge.

Maybe you can make a club (CAVEMANFILMS) that is throwable and can also be used for melee.
On an unrelated note about Forging, why couldn't you just put the zip into the mods folder. The folder still works.
Does this mod add any new ores or anything generated? I'll try the mod if I can use my current survival with it.
Also, would just dragging the class files into the .jar of the custom version I'm using work, after installing modloader?

Eh...This needs work. Maybe support SMP and be a mod that simply needs to be slapped into the mods folder. It doesn't work very well.
Unfortunately, I had to edit the base classes. Without editing, the mobs won't drop the heads rarely. I have to edit the door classes to add in new doors. The way the slabs are coded, it's horrible. I can easily add stairs without editing but slabs, while it could work without editing, some functions won't work such as slab turning into full block when placing a slab on slab.
ModloaderMP is discontinued however.
I will never switch to Forge. Ever.
I'm making this mod a semi-total conversion. (Rei's Minimap and Too Many Items works fine. Most of Risugami's mods work with this.)
The reason it won't work with Forge is the way Forge is coded, it blocks any direct modifications to minecraft.jar. I can't seem to find a way to disable it.
I recommend that MCPatcher is used to manage ModLoader mods. It manages way better than putting the mods in 'mods' folder if ModLoader is used.
Once, I experimented with Forge but that was abandoned.
I can try making the server mod, all I have to do is to find the class with list of items and blocks and edit them. However, it will be for vanilla server. Not bukkit, which is coded differently.
Unlike Better than Wolves, this mod doesn't add many overly-complicated recipes. Minecraft still feels like vanilla.
I have finally updated BetterCraft to version 2.5!
I've added Ender Block and Block of Gunpowder.
The crafting recipe for Ender Block may be a bit obvious and so is Block of Gunpowder. Just put 9 of them in crafting grid. You can even craft them back.
I have replaced Redstone tools and armour with Ender tools and armour. Don't worry, you're still compensated by having the armour changed.
I will get it back up as soon as possible!
Download link is back, I will get the screenshots and videos back up as soon as possible!

At the moment, the mod adds 1 ore, the Ruby Ore. The texture is the same as emerald ores of 12w21a.
It would work as long as you use it with correct version. The mod is designed for 1.5.2/1.6.1/1.6.2.
Keep in mind that this is a ModLoader mod.
